Volibear is a beast, and a good one at that! Being Volibear generally means you dont have to give a **** about the enemies damage or towers, because when you want a target, you will take it no matter what.

These same rules apply to Udyr, since he is the same kind of balls-deep baws of the jungle. You could consider doing this same stuff with [Xin Zhao], however I found that this doesn't work as effectively as Volibear and Udyr in late game.

The right mindset!

Being a jungler you got to have the right mindset. There are basicly two thing you can do, one being for a beginner and one for the advanced players amoung us. The only thing I can say to you now: know which type you are. Everyone needs to start out somewhere and try stuff out. When you think you're ready, go for it!

If you don't know how to jungle, how to gank and how to pressure, the best thing to do is just farm yourt jungle non stop. When you think you are strong enough, go take the enemies jungle and just farm. This way you will scale with all other players without taking to much risk and mid- to lategame you will be able to join fights etc.

2. Volibear the GOD jungler
When you are able to "read lanes" and you get the idea of ganking, this is when Volibear really shines. All you worry about are taking buffs, taking down targets and taking objectives. I can't stress the last one enough! Objectives are towers, dragons and baron. And one golden rule in League Of Legends:

Taking objectives = Victory

So just think about it. What does this mean for a jungler? This means for one thing that when you gank a lane and you kill the guys, you DO NOT GO BACK to your jungle. NO! You stay there, push the lane and take that damn tower!

Shen used his ult on the botlane, and now there is a wave pushing top? You go there and push that **** even quicker! Same story for a Twisted Fate who ults out of midlane, you go there and push that tower down!

If you manage to apply so much pressure, the enemy can do two things: stay in their lane because they are acared about you pushing. Or they start panicing and roaming to find you, what makes the lanes easier for your teammates. Either way it's gg.

conlusion When playing Volibear this way, you got to have balls and know what you are doing!

Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed

The seals and glypsh speak for themselves: they just add up to the overall tankyness of volibear.

The quints and marks make sure your ganks are always effective. Combined with good timing, enemies will not be able to run away and once you are near them you will stack those aa's quickly for a good bite.

So here I have the not-so-standard 9-21-0 masteries. All point in Defense simply focus on volibear becoming some huge beast who is just a mennace everywhere on the field.

In the marks I take atack speed and cooldown reduction, because you want to bite those guys alot. Also towers are to be taken down quickly...ALWAYS.

Basicly these masteries makes volibear a beast who, when you take the early advantage, becomes an unstoppable force.

As volibear jungle always start with e. This speeds up your clear time with the atack speed buff and the bite, but also this bite will be the key concept in your ganks. Allowing you to deal the finishing blow and pump up your pressence on the map.

Put one point in q after that. You will use your q to counter flashed, but also when timed right, it cancels Tristana jump!

Second you max e which slows and deals damage. Perfect for enemies who run away. Always put a point in the ultimate when available.

Early Game

I always start Hunter's Machete and 4x Health Potion and 1x Mana Potion. Depending which side you're on you go to either red or blue, always go to the duo lane, and let the solo lane cover or ward the other buff. You see the enemie Nunu taking your buff? You rush to his jungle and set this guy straight! YOU DA BAWS OF DA JUNGLE! NOT HIM!

So generally you rush the two buffs, not taking wraiths or wolves because who needs those when kills are waiting for you? Make sure the lane your ganking informs you of wards in the river. If they dont ward, punish them.

always think about your first gank. A solo lane doesn't require much thinking, just kill him with a bite. But for example when you going to gank a botlane Sona Caitlyn lane. Unless your allies are gods like you, you probably won't take down Caitlyn down so early. But Sona is squichy as **** and has no utility other than her flash! So go for that *****! Bit the **** out of her! If Caitlyn now is low, flashed and pushed to her tower. Go for her, just go in, take tower hits untill your passive comes into action and if neccesary give the kill to the adc. And then. . . PUSH THAT ****!

And then you can farm the jungle on your way mid or top. Just make sure you read the lanes and go there when you're needed.

Items - Core Build

Sine you'll be starting with Hunter's Machete your first goal will be Spirit of the Ancient Golem. The CDR and Tenacy both are essential for midgame ganks and late game fights.

Since Volobears passive it not overpowered enough, you really need the increased 34% CDR.

Sunfire Cape does not really need any explanation does it?

Late Game(1) - Splitpushing

The further the game gets the more importent the pressure you deliver is. When you roam the entire map,movement speed is essential so you might consifer Trinity Force and the Enchantment: Alacrity upgrade.

Keep your eye on the map, you are just going to push empty lanes!! By doing so you draw the enemy to you. Since you are tanky as **** at the moment, you can keep them busy for 10-30 seconds, giving your team the chance to push other lanes: splitpushing!

Most people don't know how to deal with splitpushing, some times they just rush you with 5 man, which means 2 other lanes are empty. Just makes sure yourt teams knows what you're doing and what they need to do.

Late Game(2) - Battle Royale

You could also build into a huge moda-****ing tank with items like Warmog's Armor and Randuin's Omen. This way they just cant take you down, you disrupt their teams position with your q, and when they group up you pop your ult and decimate them all.
