Introduction

Welcome to my first guide here on Mobafire. I bought Wukong a while back in season 2 and absolutely loved playing him. He is capable of carrying while being tanky. I play Wukong as a Solo top/mid champ while going damage but tanky at the same time. I am here to help people who want to play Wukong competitively and just for fun. Again this is my first guide so i'm still new to what I can add and feature on here.

Masteries

Offensive: 21 points
-1 points on Double-Edge Sword because early game you can deal more damage and if you use your Decoy correctly you wont take any damage back.
-4 points on Fury because you would want to push faster + it stacks with your Nimbus Strike.
-1 point on Butcher and Feast because it basically helps your farm and slowly sustain in lane.
-3 points on Executioner and Warlord because it gives your more damage to kill your opponents
-3 points on Devastating Strike for the extra armor penetration.
-1 point on Havoc for increase of AD

Defensive: 9 Points
-2 points on Enchanted armor because it stacks with your passive so you'll be the best tank.
-2 points on Block helps reduce damage if they harass you.
-1 point on Unyielding help reduce damage if they harass you.
-3 points on Veteran Scar for the extra health early game.
-1 point on Juggernaut for the extra health.

Runes

These are the runes that I use for Wukong as well as my other solo top champions. You are welcome to use other ones that you might think fit better with Wukong.

Marks- Greater Mark of Armor Penetration
I take these to increase my early game damage to help in early trades and harassment. These marks compliment the armor reduction that you get from Crushing Blow very nicely and will help you put off getting the Brutalizer in those situations where other item priorities are needed in lane.

Seals- Greater Seal of Armor
The Greater Seal of Armor give additional Armor at Level 1 of +12 with a full set. This is great and makes you able to survive more in your lane and give better protection against AD top champions and auto-attacks.

Glyphs- Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
Getting a full set of Greater Glyph of Magic Resist allows you to have +13 Magic Resist at the start. If playing ranked taking these and the Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist is up to you since you will know your lane opponent. In blind pick take the flat magic resist since AP tops are more common now-a-days.

Quintessences- Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage
For my Quintessences I take the Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage. These quints give a nice early power boost to your AD to help with last hitting and early harassing. You will gain 7 AD with these quintessences.

Spells

For my summoner spells I either take Ignite and Flash or Ignite and Ghost. I find these to be the best two summoner spell choices. Use Flash or Ghost when Decoy will let you escape from some bad situation. I use Ignite for early game kills and every once in a while later game kills. Ignite is great for First Blood or securing a kill that could lead to your lane being able to take a turret or save yours and synergizes very well with Cyclone.

Other Summoner Spells your might take are Teleport and or Exhaust.
You take teleport because if you're having a bad time in lane and your don't want your tower to be taken down then you can use teleport, or you can use it to help allies in other lanes but chances are that your tower will be pushed.
You can take Exhaust if you want to, this is an alternative for me because you never know who you're really facing against to Exhaust is good for high damaging DPS champs like Xin Zhao or Irelia. Exhaust also helps late game unlike some other spells that are only good early game.

Team Work

Wukong is really strong and helpful in team fights because of his Cyclone he is able to knock enemies up and the air and do tons of damage. If you have a team with a lot of AOE but can focus and do single target damage it is guaranteed that you'll win MOST of your team fights.

Farming

Farming is important to Wukong because he is very item dependent, but caution that if your harass too much your lane will push out and there will be no minions to kill unless your go behind the turrent. Farming behind turrents is very dangerous because you never know when the jungle is going to come up unless you ward their jungle. Using your Nimbus Strike is good for farming with it able to attack 3 units and giving you more attack speed, Crushing blow is also good for farming because it resets your basic attack.
