Im Silverskatan on eu west. Im gold since I don't really stick to a role for very long, also because I dont play to consistenly well in game. Never gotten a penta and i´m lv 100. But I will blame that on the teemo who stole it once in aram.

-Your adc might ban aatrox in champ select
-Your adc might hate you for picking aatrox as a support
-Everything is your fault if something goes wrong
-You die pretty fast
-Vulnerable to lots of cc
-can't outrun a jax.

From playing 10 games Aatrox top i came to the conclusion that win lane = Lose game and that a car has more impact on the envoriment than Aatrox toplane in the game. Why have a Aatrox top when you can have a renekton or someone stupid lategame. Win botlane = Win game so i brought Aatrox to botlane. With the introduction of ad spellthief Aatrox became a bit more powerfull as a support. He can also easier rush kindlegem and caufields hammer. His powerspikes are when he gets his black cleaver + boots and after that his guardian angel or deaths dance. But the main reason I pick him support is because he hurts and also does ok roams even when behind. Sometimes you can 1v1 junglers.

This is the most important thing to do. There is a high chance your 3 year old ADC will tilt when you pick Aatrox support. Even thought I think Aatrox support is an actual pick your ADC (and everyone else i know) might not agree with you. This means that if anything goes wrong, its your fault. It is therefore very important to not die first to keep your ADC´s mental health in a good state. Like any other support you should give your ADC the kills but it is even more important on Aatrox since they can´t be as mad at you if you were usefull and gave them the kills (they might still be mad at you and it is therefore important to also be impactfull around the map. What I like to do is help my midlaner (with a gank if possible around lv 6/7) and my jungler when i can since they are generally more gratefull than your typical gold ADC.

Poke with you first q and if it hits you can engage with a q w q aa q lv 2 if you feel you could win the trade. Without e your second q is likely to miss so dont be too aggressive. Dont forget to aa during a engage since your aa pasive is very strong. When your daydreaming ADC gets caught you can usually engage the other ADC to negate the damage and possibly get a kill if your adc didnt take too much damage during the engage. You´re most vulnerable when you q is on cooldown from an early poke.

Keep in mind that im in gold and not higher for a reason. You might also want to put your ADC mental health as a top priority and sometimes compromise with a lux or something to not throw a game. The only time he does a better job than other supports in laning face is when he faces yummi which is the ideal matchup.

Dont build full tank on aatrox. If you build full tank you presence will diminish until you become more useless than a casterminion. The enemy will be able to ignore you and kill you fast since youre not a real tank with usefull cc like nautilus. So my main criteria when i build something on Aatrox is that it has to have ad in it. Hourglass and 40+ armour thing can throw a lead. Be sure to prioritize ad and cdr building orders. If you want to be a tank, pick an actual tank.

Aatrox support is ok in lategame. He got a good chase and engage but he dies in 3 seconds which is why i strongly recomend guardian angel as second or third item. The most important thing to do in lategame for Aatrox support is to use executioners calling on whatever it is usefull against. You can also target their adc if you feel like it. This is usually the time my positive k/d goes negative. But my k/d/a is still positive. It usually takes a death or two to realise you die very fast.

If your adc is palpat3 on eu west you will lose the lane. Common sense like follow up when our jungler ganks or I hit my abilities never struck him. Even if you and your adc went behind you will deal a lot of damage with ad aatrox, like yasou for example. What I like to do in these situations is to roam more when guardian angel is off cooldown and help my jungler or midlaner with something. The relative comeback ability you have on aatrox even if your adc is lv 21 and only plays mf is the main reason I chose him support.

Guardian angel is recomended for these instructions but is optional. When an objective is being secured by an enemy. You should R in and completely all in. This will confuse the enemy and give the rest of the team time to finnish them off or for your jungler to steal it. Not recomended if your teamates are ultra passive and don´t know why dragon is so important. I also help if my jungler tries to take a dragon lv 4.

How to play aatrox support. Before level 3 - q w q aa q aa aa etc. After lv 3 - q e w q aa q aa aa etc. Atrox first q is suprisingly far, like xeraths or nautilus q (it shoulnt hit but it hits). So a mispositioned adc (trying to ward or farm) is usually when you can trade or all in.
