wow cool, what did you do to make those?
and did you use photoshop?
AND, what tutorials did you use?
text is epic in the first one, the second one is good but could be blended a little better...
and I (as well as many people) recommend putting some borders on :D (rectangle marquee > select sig > edit > stroke).
as for blending, you can do clipping mask as explained in one of his tuts I think...but in case not,
1. type text
2. new layer, image > apply image
3. on the new applied layer, layers > create clipping mask
4. go to text layer and right click it; select blending options and apply drop shadow
5. move around top layer until desired color
you can also reduce opacity of top layer to incorporate the clipping mask with a little of the text's color (that's how I did text in both of your sigs, for Maokai one I took part of him, had green text, and make clipping mask around 65% opacity).

Photoshop, downloaded the trial :P
Um, I used the render tutorial - I wasn't aware that we should cut out the focal point etc, I'm pretty new at this haha.
The text in the first one was just me just playing around with different fonts, then hitting the different options under "Styles" until I found one I liked. At the time I couldn't find "Shadow Drop" or whatever it is that I used in the second one.
I had no idea how to make borders, I was trying to make my own with like, straight lines, but as you can imagine it looked awful haha. Thanks for the heads up!
D: Thanks for the blending tips, I couldn't work out how to do it, so I'll try it with your instructions.
In terms of the Sona background, I just smudged the **** out of the original image, and used the stamp cloning tool to fill in white space. Played with the smudge tool until it looked nice.
Nidalee: This time I kept the original background, duplicated it, smudged the duplicate and set the original to low opacity to get a smoky effect. Because I couldn't get brushes or CD4s to work, I kinda made my own with the original fractal in the image.
I rendered the fractal and placed it either side of Nidalee, Free Transforming it until I felt it looked right.
SO FUN TO DO!

haha pretty cool.
yep, sigs are fun to make, especially when you get the hang of em and can pump em out.
always fun to see what you can do :D
btw, what you can try for smudging is clicking fn + f5, and use those settings that xiao shows in that tutorial...
then when you smudge, just click, and instead of smudging it around it'll replicate whatever you click on and randomly brush it around, giving an effect as in this sig:
http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/6333/brandsignaturetutorial.png
also, this method is very easy to pick up on: http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/2572/tut5.png
now, what issue exactly are you having with brushes and c4ds? O_O

Basically I tried to download some, and then save it to the "Brushes" folder, but when I try to load them in Photoshop (the little triangle thing), the brushes I downloaded aren't there. In fact, the folder is empty o.O
are you sure you're doing it right?
click on brush tool > click brush options arrow (where you can select brushes and size, hardness, etc.) > click the arrow on THAT little tab > load brushes > select brush file; and then they will appear in your brushes.
as for c4ds, all you needs to do is google "c4d", xiao actually gave me a nice pack of c4ds and fractals, I would give them to you but idk if he wants me to; ask him when he gets back (shoot him a PM)
but for the time being, google images gives you a lot with just searching c4d and fractals
and then what you do is open it, drag it into your sig, put it behind render if desired (usually), then on the layers palette at the bottom, where it says normal and then has a drop down list, select linear dodge; then go to image > adjustments > black and white, and check tones; select the tone of your c4d/fractal :)

This is my problem, there isn't anything there for me to click on.
C4Ds: kk :P I'll give it a go and get back to you with what I make based upon all your tips ^^
what do you mean for you to click on...? o_O
if you download brushes from a brush site, find the file location and click on it, and click open...o_O
