Just so you know, a lot of the frequent posters around here are level 30. Check out this section of the subforums to see if you can find any players around your level.
Whether you find a team or not, make sure you play some PvP games, probably soloqueue first. You don't want to be completely clueless when you play with your friends. ^^

Because playing custom games against bots really really leaves you unprepared to play against humans.
I played like 5 custom games before starting PvP, and only played Co-op vs Ai when it came out for the lulz.

Pshh, my first games were with my level 20 and level 30 brothers :P. I've actually never played with anyone below level 15, because I didn't play on my own until much later.
But jhoi's right, coop vs ai really doesn't prepare you for a real game. Start playing some PvP before your level gets so high that you get stomped in your first game. If you do lose at the beginning, don't worry about it. You'll get the hang of it.
