Preseason 6 ADC Itemization

Regarding [[Lucian]] going mid, I think [[Graves]] can really go to top lane. I just had a game last night with my friends (actually my brother's friends) and one decided to go [[Graves]] top, and holy shit he harassed the hell out of [[Darius]].[/quote]

For 450 gold, you get 5 AD and 3 HP on-hit, which ends up paying for itself and even returning a profit, essentially giving you those stats completely for free in the long run; the downside is you're 350-450 gold behind until you reach 100 CS. I've tried building it a lot at any point while I had some gold to spare, but as much as I like the theory of the item, it just isn't worth temporarily setting the rest of your build behind for it IMO. Its only use is as a starting item where it replaces [[doran's blade]], but on bot lane that's just asking to get shit on as it has much worse stats than [[doran's blade]], and the fact that it pays for itself doesn't mean much if you're going to get stomped in lane and fall heavily behind in CS/die a few times. I think it can be a good starting item if you're going to be lane swapping (so never in solo Q), or if you're playing mid lane and you can afford to be squishier. Especially in matchups where you're mainly going to be free farming cuz neither of you have kill potential, the lack of HP doesn't hurt you as much, and then you'll end up getting [[cull]]'s stats completely for free when you farm it up and eventually sell it. tl;dr you should almost never build it but it does have its uses.[/quote]
