Trinity Force doesn't have enough attack speed anymore to be a viable replacement for the other Zeal items. I'd rather have 30% CDR instead of 40 but get way more AS and crit.

You can definitely get IE later in the game if you're playing an
Essence Reaver champ.
I don't think there's much other than IE that's good to get early on an autoattacker though.

I've tried building it a lot at any point while I had some gold to spare, but as much as I like the theory of the item, it just isn't worth temporarily setting the rest of your build behind for it IMO. Its only use is as a starting item where it replaces


I think it can be a good starting item if you're going to be lane swapping (so never in solo Q), or if you're playing mid lane and you can afford to be squishier. Especially in matchups where you're mainly going to be free farming cuz neither of you have kill potential, the lack of HP doesn't hurt you as much, and then you'll end up getting

tl;dr you should almost never build it but it does have its uses.
