Winners! - MOBAFire 2016 Guide Contest

There were a lot of great guides that qualified for this contest, but we could only pick one to win in each category. Check out the honorable mentions for more great guides for each category. Before we look at the results, we'd like to briefly address some rule-breaking that happened during the contest this year. Shortly after the deadline of the contest had passed, it was brought to our attention that some suspicious activity had taken place regarding the category of top rated guide (based on votes), with one of the guides that had been near the top for a long amount of time receiving several downvotes. Following an in-depth investigation, it became apparent to us that a group of users had banded together to mass downvote this guide in an attempt to influence the category's results. We also found evidence of another guide being downvoted by a member of the community on a second account. It should go without saying that both of these cases are [i]strictly[/i] against MOBAFire's rules in regards to voting, and as such all of these votes were removed before we picked a winner. Given the background story, we have decided to take no action against the culprits beyond removing votes this time around, but we will be keeping a close eye on this in the future; it should go without saying that repeat offenders will be punished severely. Another (related) issue we have to address involves a questionable strategy used by one guide author, who decided to archive his guide so no downvotes could be cast on it and it would remain at the top. While this author ended up not winning the category, it's a possibility which we as admins had not considered and - following a short discussion - have concluded we are not okay with. As such, archiving a guide for an extended amount of time will be listed as [i]against the rules[/i] in future contests. We take these kind of issues very seriously, and would like to ask you not to try and take measures into your own hands. If at any point you suspect someone is cheating to influence the result of the guide contest, contact us and we will take care of it.
