Great guide!!! Only recommendation would be to have the recommended runes for each opponent on their section as well! Sometimes i'm confused which to take! Guide would be absolutely perfect then!

Hi!
As I already told someone, explaining which runes to take in each matchup is stupid, because, firstly, it is very difficult to keep up to date, and secondly, against some matchups you can take different runes that will work from a different playstyle and depend entirely on the player, so I don't want to to receive negative feedback from readers only because I recommend taking Grasp of the Undying against Garen, not Conqueror.

That's why I give general advice that always works, like: "take Grasp of the Undying against those who are difficult to kill".
Of course, I explain this more precisely, but this is for those who want to learn the information in depth, it is written in "Runes".

This also applies to Summoner Spells, because someone always likes to play with Flash + Teleport, someone can't imagine their life without Flash at all and can't play with Teleport + Ignite, so I just give information when it's just desirable to take certain items/runes/summoner spells/etc.

Makes sense!, any reason why you take trinity instead of eclipse against tanks too?

Hey ive seen some people maxing e first. Thoughts? No sheen anymore in ur recommended build so i was wondering if u have tried it and think it is worth at all. I like q max better still, but im curious.

Hi!
I can't imagine a situation where E would be more useful than Q. Q is our main damage and poke, if we don't maximize it, then we just won't have enough damage.
I know that people maximize E first in the AP build, but I'm not into that kind of thing.

Hi, Fruxo, I've been really waiting for your review, thank you for approving my guide, I've always dreamed of an "exceptional guide" badge!

Cheatsheet
I've reworked the Cheatsheet a lot following your advice, but I have to explain something to you separately:
Fruxo wrote:
As a pretty avid enjoyer of Gwen, I quite like the ultra specific rune page only against her, however the notes you've made are horrible, they only confuse me, I'd restructure it into something like this: "Gwen has % AP damage and doesn't have poke damage, using other runes would not be sufficient against her. Nullifying Orb here is good because it's able to absorb some of the damage that she deals, whilst Transcendence can help with scaling.". Worth noting that Gwen doesn't actually deal % AP damage the entire time, if the damage dealt is in the center of each snip, half of that damage is immediately converted into true damage, meaning that I'm honestly not entirely sure how good this rune page really is against her, as you cannot defend yourself against true damage (much like Camille) and if the Gwen player is good, you are dead everytime.
Usually, Wukong avoids Gwen's Snip Snip! with a Warrior Trickster, and she has % magic damage due to her Thousand Cuts, so Overgrowth is useless.

Note: The title of this chapter is called "Table of Contenty" should be -> "Table of Contents" I think.
Saying "hero" all the time doesn't really make much sense to me, they're called champions, not heroes. If anything it reminds me of Heroes of the Storm or Dota, where they are actually called Heroes lol.
etc...
Thank you for correcting me, English is not my native language and I do not understand everywhere where synonyms can be used and where not.
Fruxo wrote:
I don't really understand the purpose of creating a champion pool of champions you can pick other than Wukong, this is a guide for the monkey, not other champions you should play, no?
I added this for the sake of completeness of the guide, for those people who want to know which champion pool he can fit into.
Fruxo wrote:
>Runes: Adequate
I've completely redesigned this section, can you share your opinion?
Fruxo wrote:
Note: Change your Dead Man's Plate description to say "change your boots" -> dead man's. You have 2 boots options, not just plated steelcaps.
No, no, we only change Plated Steelcaps, because if we have Mercury's Treads then it's clearly needed for mr or against CC.
Fruxo wrote:
You can instead change the images to go off of wiki images, as you link stuff to the wiki often everywhere else in your guide. Just use the icon only.

So for Dragon Souls you'll get:

code

And instead of using the round buffs from the dragons, use their dragon icons:

code

This way you'll get a much cleaner looking section.
Yes, these blurred images were a crutch, because earlier in the Mobafire Wiki there were not all souls and drakes, thank you for adding them, I am happy to use them now!
Fruxo wrote:
I feel like the "Synergies" here don't provide much added value. In the cheatsheet of the guide these are fine, but does every synergy have to be explained in detail? no. Along with that, every champion can have a synergy with Wukong, the same as with all champions. It just feels bland. Doesn't help that all synergy descriptions are super short so they again aren't adding that much (and honestly all descriptions can just be moved to the cheatsheet instead and you can delete this part of the section. Your cheatsheet synergies are already lacking).
Yes, I was wondering if this section was needed, I decided to wait for another opinion (yours), thanks to your opinion, I now know that this is an extra part.
Fruxo wrote:
You have a lot of spelling errors within your guide. I would advice to copy them over to a Google Document or Microsoft Word and check for grammar, it really will go a long way.
I really tried to fix it all manually, I thought Google Document would swear at BBCode, but I tried and it only pointed out spelling errors, thank you for this advice!

In conclusion, I would like to thank you again for the review, I took into account most of your comments and the guide has clearly improved!

1. Still, Warrior Trickster allows you to dodge her Q once, but otherwise you're not able to dodge it in the same way. Don't forget that your ability has a massive 22-14 sec cooldown whilst Gwen's Q has a 6.5-3.5 sec cooldown. I believe all in all, Nullifying Orb is a good choice here, but I feel like the way you explain the purpose of picking the rune page, could change and be a bit better.

2. I don't blame you if English isn't your native language, only believed calling them "heroes" weren't the right word unless we're playing dota, so it's fair.

3. I can understand adding it for the sake of completeness but then again, people are here to play the monkey, not to know what other champion they can pick. Once again I just feel like talking about which team compositions you can pick Wukong with is far better than explaining this. But, I will leave that decision to you.

4. I like this rune change you did in the runes section a lot more. Ideally you could try to separate the main page runes and the secondary page runes a bit more, just to make it clear which ones are which, as a "fine line". Not with the use of the big text titles you had, but any other type of way you can be creative about it, if you want. Otherwise I find it just fine.

5. Once again you encounter the same problem. Mercury's Treads are clearly needed for MR and CC threads, Plated Steelcaps are clearly needed for AD and a lot of auto attackers. If you feel like it's more required to change Plated into Dead Man's over Mercury's, then this should be explained - as clearly Plated sucks way more in this case for boots than Mercury's would. If both boots are good then it doesn't matter which boots get changed to Dead Man's Plate once you hit 6 items.

6. Seeing the images for Dragon Soul and Dragon Buffs changed gives me a lot mroe joy reading those sections for sure. The only issue I'd ever have with these sections now is just that I feel like you can expand the descriptions more (Chemtech Soul/Buff descriptions are so detailed but the others aren't at all).

7. I don't think the information for each detailed synergy should go to waste. Just move all of that information up and into your Threats & Synergies section at the top for the cheatsheet and remove the section within the guide and it's honestly just fine that way.

8. Google Docs / Microsoft Word is just a good way to check for spelling, it does help.

Hey Monkey with the approaching guide contest, you are inside my purview of reviews, and yours has currently stood out the most, for a variety of reasons. Though I see a lot of areas where it may be improved, given your stated goal of creating the finest guide ever, I believe we're on the same page. These are the things that we ideally look at during a review.

STRUCTURE: From an organized perspective, this is essentially how you develop and utilize code.

CONSISTENCY: Frequency with which you change things around.

INCLUDINGS: Things like Runes, Items, Matchups, and even whole sections that should be added.

MY CONCERNS: Anything that doesn't pique my interest enough to serve as a guide or as filler.

Items and Runes

Starting with the obvious. Your runes, spells, and items. Your runes are concise, explanatory, and do not go into much detail in this section, which is good. The same is true for some of your item builds, however this section is typically used to provide a brief explanation of the builds as well as a brief description of a situational item or two, usually accompanied by very short explanations on why you would incorporate it into a standard build instead of having a list and line of items.
Your example

My example

You can see how more condensed you can make it, as long as you don't use too many words or items that are already in the "core" build, as you discuss the items in greater detail in the guide's base body. A tidy cheat sheet is a good cheat sheet.

You don't go into too much depth on the champion match-ups in this section, but you do provide enough information for folks to comprehend what you're attempting to convey which again is a very nicely presented section.

One Issue

When I first accessed your guide, it took approximately 5 - 7 minutes to load. Because of the magnitude of my own Teemo guide, I am well aware of this issue. It's because there's too many pictures on the guide aswell as code / body content. I believe that this "Skip" part is completely unnecessary in the larger scheme of things, because you can simply scroll down to see the body text; all it does is make it more difficult, if not impossible, for users to load the website.

I will note that you manage to retain a consistent thematic style throughout the guide, which is a good thing because many people tend to believe that you need to have all kinds of big, bright colors and bold code, when you don't. You can get by with just a consistent white and blue or whatever hue matches the champion you're talking about, especially with the skins.

Though one thing that does stand out as untidy is that there appears to be a lot of times where you raise the size of a few images, causing it to become blurry and not crisp for a few images like the Dragon Buffs, and some titles like "Choose your teamfight" being really clean and clear, but then above it, "Teamfights" in big bold font that looks a little to blurry.

You do have a guide that sticks out rather effectively, but its size is a major issue because it may push people away. I once used a style of explaining champion match-ups here on Mobafire in much greater detail similar to you and many others, but I could never get it to work without experiencing a lot of loading issues, so it was not ideal to edit on the guide, but rather to work on a powerpoint or spreadsheet, where there was an abundance of things I could do that I couldn't here.

So, overall, some tidying up is required, as is the possibility of going back and increasing the image quality (not to PNG), but to a size that permits it to maintain a good aspect ratio. Possibly working on a spreadsheet or PowerPoint to expand the possibilities for creating a few additional sections in the guide without being too long in terms of scrolling down.

Hey, Cat!
Thanks for the review. I didn't expect you to do it so quickly!
I've read and analyzed it completely, and here's what I'll say:

1. Cheat Sheet
I admit, this is my sore point, I've never been able to figure out how to do it well. I understood what needed to be done as briefly as possible, but it turned out that I did not do it briefly enough. I took into account your suggestion, it seems to look good and convenient now.

2. "Skip"
I didn't know that this button alone was taking so much traffic, of course I removed it.

3. The sizes of the headings
You know, before I read your review, it seemed to me that the size was normal. After that, it was like I really looked through your eyes and realized that the headlines were too big. In general, I have reduced each large headline and now they look much better, as for me.

4. Dragon buffs/souls icons size
I do not know, these images have too small a resolution, so they blur at a large size. It's like I figured out how to fill the space on the sides that appears if you reduce the size of these icons. As a result, as for me, it turned out well and the icons do not blur so much.

5. The traffic that matchups pick up
That's the only thing I disagree with you on and I won't change it. Firstly, it's easier for me to edit matchups on the Mobafire, and secondly, I don't know why it took you a long time to load, but I asked a group of people and they loaded, yes, with a delay, but not 5-7 minutes. The only thing is, it can really be a problem for phones, but this is a minority that have to be sacrificed for the sake of quality.

Anyway, thank you for your review, now I'll be waiting for it from other scouts!

1: Much improved. Many people overdo it in these portions.

2: It is a button that allows you to alter your role for that champion. If you've ever wanted to add runes and stuff to Jungle Wukong, etc. However, the webpage now loads more quickly.

3: Yes, it normally needs a second view to gain the insight of someone who isn't you in order to notice things you may have overlooked. Typically, the desired width for items is no more than 70-90. Images between 420 and 720 or they begin to be problematic since they disrupt consistency and frequently break the page if it's too big pushing everything right.

4: Going back to the size, I could see this being an issue because anything smaller than 40 becomes tougher to see. Alternatively, you might utilize the drake head icons. This is just something that irritates me and makes me want to rip out my hair to fix more of a me issue.

5: If these people have already loaded the page before, then it's more likely to be less of an issue, but for new traffic, which again is what you would be looking for, would be more likely to click off if they are not patient, which a lot of them are not. My Teemo guide now has over 500k characters of code, it used to have close to a million. So I typically sit here for 2-3 minutes waiting for the site itself to load my code so I can modify it, rather than my computer, phone, or anything else having issues. Usually takes 30 seconds to load the actual page. It's more of a quality of life issue and an opinion on the subject considering once again, you did have x2 data with the skip which would legitimately 404 the websites cache which is why the long loads and refreshes :P

You were not joking! This is the best guide I've ever read in Mobafire! Tho, as you said, it takes roughly 2 hours to read through the whole thing. Making a video version of this guide would make it much much more easy to digest! Thank you for your teachings!

Your guide is incredible. It actually made me want to play the monkey, congrats !

Also, do you think Wuk is underrated at toplane ? He's barely played and seems to be doing just fine.
1
Shark of Void (12) | January 22, 2024 5:33am
Hey, thank you for such nice words!
No, I don't consider Wukong an underrated toplaner.
In its current state, Wukong is so weak due to nerfs that ANY toplaners can defeat him 1 vs 1 if you do not play Wukong like a god.
You can just pick Volibear and you will automatically win the top stupidly because of the strength of this champion, when as even 20 0 Wukong cannot defeat four enemies.
