Well, I acutally search for the "perfect" Vladimir build. Actually, Vladimir is underplayed heavily, idk why. He scales really great into lategame, different from other ap-carries, and he can be godlike in lane after lvl 5.

But his downsite is, that he has 0 burst... His Ult doesn't fit in any way to his playstyle(It is a ultimate for nuker...), and his E has a way too short range.

Well, lets discuss about how to build him. I list some viable/must Items for Vlad:

Must items:

Situational items:

Ok, that are all good items (if there are more, please say them...). But, how to build him?

I consider Ionian Boots of Lucidity or Sorcerer's Shoes good choices for boots. Ofc Mercury's Treads are good on almost every character.

He can't do without Hextech Revolver, Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Rabadon's Deathcap.

That leaves you with 2 items. I'd prefer an early game Haunting Guise and you can sell it later on. As he is offtank imo, you will need some armor and MR. I'd say Zhonya's Hourglass is nice for Armor, and Abyssal Mask or Quicksilver Sash as MR (Sash removes Ignite, right? :o). Obviously you can make the revolver into a Will of the Ancients at the very last moment, I see so many Vlad's rushing it in laning phase...

For the need of Tenacity, don't ever forget Moonflair Spellblade :)

I once saw a Vlad who had CDR boots and 3x Warmog's Armor when the game ended, I wonder what other items he was going to buy :P

I usually go for Sorcerer's Shoes-> Haunting Guise-> Will of the Ancients Rylai's Crystal Scepter-> Rabadon's Deathcap-> Warmog's Armor-> Zhonya's Hourglass

I start with a tome, and make a fast haunting guise, then bootss, immediatly after i get WotA. Why you ask? Because WotA gives almost twice as much AP and spell vamp as an extech revolver, for only 900g more. Plus, the AoE will be useful in teamfights, if you have multiple ap champs. If they haev more ad then ap, get Zhonyas. If they got more ap then ad, get an abyssal scepter. If they have a balanced team, go for zhonya's hourglass. Because, IMO, Survivability > Damage

+rep me and you'll get good karma, wich means you won't be reincarnated into a rock! Isn't that awesome?

But yes this idea has been discussed more than Pam Anderson's tits in a plastic surgeons office.

I'm pretty damn sure you NEED
Ionian Boots of Lucidity
Hextech Revolver
Rabadon's Deathcap
Void Staff
Anything else is highly situational
updrading to Will of the Ancients is nice but not necessary as 1st thing to do after core
I prersonally like to go defensive after core with Quicksilver Sash and Zhonya's Hourglass

For all you questions about jungling

But, why buy Warmog's Armor, it is only HP and the HP>AP scaling is bad...

It was nerfed to 25>1

It's the combination of items such as Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Spirit Visage and Warmog's Armor that gives you a nice amount of AP (with his passive) while still greatly increasing your survivability I guess.
Not sure whether I would personally buy it often though, just searched for the old build I had for him which had Void Staff/ Warmog's Armor as the final item. Don't play him often really :|

"(Innate): Every 25 points of bonus health grants Vladimir 1 ability power and every 1 point of ability power grants Vladimir 1.8 bonus health. These bonuses do not stack with themselves"

That's what the wiki says :|

I see your point, wouldn't get Warmog's Armor.

Id say zhonias and void are both a must buy on vlad, your opponents are always gonna get mr, if they don't, well they are gonna lose anyway and the active from zhonias will make you that much harder to kill.

I don't like to play him tho since the Soraka change I'm just so scared of that match up, Vlad's range is just so bad, or Ryze...
