So, you're having a look at the champions (by the way, SEXY "free" and "new" lablels!):

Instead of seeing a huge-*** long list of guides that you have to scroll through to see if any have a title relevant to the type of guide you want to read:

I propose that when you click on a champion to have a look at the guides, three boxes come up underneath the champion Lore (instead of the current list of guides displayed there):

[Summoner's Rift] - [Twisted Treeline] - [Dominion]

Then once you've clicked on one of these boxes, another two boxes will come up (next step does not apply for Crystal Scar, seeing as you can't jungle in it):

[Jungle Guide] - [Laning Guide]

Now you will find yourself:

Champion > Map > Appropriate Guide List

I think this sort of system would make filters unnecessary, and it would also be a lot easier to navigate the website. It'd give guide authors more chances. I have a jungle Warwick guide at the top. What about a lane Warwick guide? What about a Jungle Warwick Twisted Treeline guide?

If guides were sectioned off into appropriate categories, more guide authors would have a chance to share the spotlight of being #1 for their category.

Raised Concerns:
- What if the guide has multiple chapters on Dominion, TT, jungling etc?
// I would rather read one guide that focuses entirely on Dominion/Twisted Treeline/Jungling than read small sections of each guide for each map. ie, I think it's best if people either keep these kinds of this separate or at least focus on the map/mode they know the most. In the end, the guide they are writing is up to them, as will be the category they want to put it in.

Sounds good though it may be a bit confusing. Of course the guides could include both or have what its about in the name I guess

And of course, when I want a frikken Gangplank Jungle guide, I'll be able to find it without having to read through a whole list of guide names, or use another website (Google) to find a jungle guide at MobaFire. I just ended up doing whatever, but in the scenario where I actually *do* need a guide, I want to be able to find it quickly and efficiently.

I agree with CasterMaster.

Some guide may have both SR and TT in them, and maybe even Dominion.
As for Jungling and Laning, that should only come up on SR and TT, and in my opinion, I think that part should be kept off.

So I just think that if your suggestion were to take place, the options should just be SR, TT and Dominion. Just leave out the jungling and laning parts.

EDIT: After reading you comment Jai, I think that Jungle and Lane guides (that is, jungling and laning in the same guide) should display in both jungling and laning to set things straight.
Did I help you out? +Rep me :)

How about [ Dominion/TT/SR ] > [ General/Jungle/Lane ]?

Already have a dominion specific part, why not do the whole thing too? :p

Or just add this stuff into filters.

Concerns addressed in the OP. I think the primary aspect of the guide should be the category you align it to. If you focus on bottom lane Miss Fortune but have a jungling section, it shouldn't display in both, the guide should only display in the Laning Miss Fortune > Summoner's Rift category.

If your guide is primarily about Twisted Treeline, but you have a little bit in there about Dominion, I think it should be categorised as TT, not Dominion (would also fix those guides that automatically get put into the Dominion category for talking about Dominion exclusive items).

tehAsian: Matt has already expressed concerns about adding more filters, so I thought WHY NOT REMOVE THEM!!! :3

You wouldn't get to general guides by clicking on a champion, that's a filter already in place. These options will only turn up if you click on a champion.

I think the page should go:

Builds & Guides > Database Champions > Pick a Map > Pick a Guide Type > Appropriate Guide List

At the top of Database Champions, perhaps there can be an icon for General Guides.

Some people include both Jungling and Laning sections in their guide. No reason to have the jungle/laning box and whatnot.

The same issue will occur with maps as well, where an author may include a build and a section for each map.

What if the guide is for dominion, twisted treeline and SR? Maybe it'd be better if there were check boxes or something like that.
