Well ... you can't balm the kid. It is pretty obvious that the parents shoved there opinion down his through every time that poor little guy showed curiosity about something and the school helped them.

I remember my dad telling me the story’s about how the earth come to be when I was younger. He had quite a few.

From the big man with beard making it over 6 days the icy giant of the north who’s body formed the world we know the the big bang. As a kid there where just nice story for me. But looking back they gave me something a lot of people didn't have. I could choose what to believe and what made sense to me. I wasn't forced to believe in something just because my parents did. I hope I have the strength to do the same.

How ever. As a person of science the best I can tell you is mack it interesting. You can't save all the kids out there nor can you run around and tell there parents that what they believe is ********(that is kind of rude). So do you best to show the world of science to those that want to see it and stay away from Texas. If you can't take it come over the Europe. Here religion is not allowed to interfere with stuff out of it's reach. It has it's own class but in science class you get taught the most accepted opinion and that happens to be that we came to being because of genetic errors and that our universe started to be because of a big bang.

In the end fell no pity for those that choose another way. We barley can tell if we are on the right track. As people of logic and science we should accepted that stuff as another opinion whether it makes any sense or not. Making fun out of them only devoid our point of being the rational and logic side.

edit: fixed some errors.
Thanks lgnition for the Sig.

Well there are religious schools in europe too, and pretty dumb people come out of those in average. Improving kid's logic, make them think instead of blindly following something like a dog... just like racism in my country, it's pretty much fashion, they don't even know wtf they talk about.

Basically people are stupid and ignorant, and new generations see this as an ideal. Sad world.

Dem grammar :O

At any rate, if a kid fills in a test about evolution, he should fill in the test with evolution :P
Not with Christianity, because that's just stupid.

You aren't going to fill in your pilot exam about stuff you do while driving, are you? :P

There are but they are a minority and not the ones founded by the state.
And yes doing something without question(ing?) it is most of the time pretty stupid.
But it is hard to start question something that has been like that for your whole live.
If I would come up to you and tell you that world was flat and on the back of a 4 elephant marching on the back of a giant turtle flying though space you would call me insane. But as for our point of view non of use could tell who is true and who not in that moment. In that instance both ideas are equally true in the context of our reality. You could do great efforts and travel around the world to prove me wrong. But most normal people don't have the equipment, time or money to do that. They simply believe. They believe what they where thought since they where young , what there parents , family and friends believe. It is not like they have a big choice. Most of the time people won't accepted a different view then their own and react rather harsh. You are doing the same. Most of our lives it is not about who is right or wrong. It doesn't matter. Most of use just life their life and don't have any influence on the progress of science or can understand most of it (even science people can't there is just to much). So we in fact believe as well. You believe that that atoms work the way your physics teach told you. You never made any attempt to test it . It could be just a good story( and in fact is the stuff they tell is on school is out dated) and you could not tell.

So yeah. IT IS stupid to just blindly follow. But doing the same and just blaming others to be stupid is just as worse if not worse. A big step in our cultural evolution was supposed to be acceptances of other being different. Whether it is in appearance, believe or what ever. You don't have to believe what they do. You can try to convince them. But ultimately it is up to everyone to choose what to believe and what not.
But again. That is my opinion. You can like choose do believe something else.

Grammer... I like my own grammer :P

But yeah that test was about do what we told you. Nothing more nothing less. And it is nothing new that people like to disguise something as something more accapted. You can see it as win.

You know, I have nothing against a person fulfilling his religious ambitions if noone else is involved, but the problem is huge in Austria as well.

Religion (and not just any kind of religion, just Christian religion) is pretty mandatory in primary school, and the kids are getting indoctrined by that, which sucks, because they lose their common sense that way. The test you bring up is quite frankly ridiculous, but if we think about it, not much more than anything else is. You know, what kind of religion you have depends on your parents most of the time.

For example, every single person in my class goes confirmation class on saturdays or whenever.

Thankfully the people in Austria arn't really that close-minded, and you arn't getting discirminated or anything if you're not christian, but I seriously think this should be an after-school class/choosable subject. I'd much rather do ethics, but then again being allowed to go to school an hour later on mondays and getting away from it on fridays is something I much appreciate.

I'm streets ahead. If you don't get it you're streets behind.
