It deals way more damage late game. Old wuju style was 35 AD or 70 with the active. New one is 20% more AD passively and active true damage can be like 100 per hit.
it's 25% :D. If you have 280 AD (glass cannon Yi), it gives 70 AD (permanently, not for 10 seconds) AND also makes you deal 88 true damage per hit l0l. much better than the old Wuju late game.
However, if you get a kill, you can't have Passive form AND active form of Wuju on at the same time (AKA +105 AD from the old Wuju style)
Well, I was away from LoL for like a month because it pissed me of, but this change obviously brings me back. Finally, the new Yi. I don't know yet if it is a buff or nerf, but some cool changes were in here, like removing the randomness of
Alpha Strike or let it apply crit. AP Yi is gone, yes, but I didn't like it that much anyway. The ultimate change is definilty a nerf and it is also definitly a nerf to splitpushing with Yi, which was his biggest bet (probably still is, lol). The best thing I look at is, that he now could potentially combine the burst power of an ad-caster and the attack power of a meele ad-carry. He is basically a mix of both. Still, that doesn't solve his CC-Problem. At least, he is now even faster in the jungle.
And at lvl 30 or even ranked games, AD Yi isn't easy at all to play, it is all about timing and smart decisions.
If I look at the build, it is kinda the same like my actual Yi build. The only change it maybe needs is more crit, but I don't know where to place it. Another change might to to replace some AS items with AD items, but
Blade of the Ruined King is still strong for Yi with the early slow on ganks by
Bilgewater Cutlass. Same goes for
Statikk Shiv, which now works on
Alpha Strike movement.

Basically nickname, they balanced all of the obnoxious things about Yi and fixed some of the more annoying things about playing him.
Alpha Strike is no longer overpowering in lane, but it's still good for waveclear and harass. It is now more usuable in team fights due to the innate cooldown reset mechanic.
He isnt AS ridiculous at backdooring, but he can still do it.
And lastly his meditate isnt as BS early game but now AD Yi can actually use it later on.

But that doesn't change anything at his viability, since CC is still gonna stop him. And now he lost his strong parts, making his viability even smaller. Except if you somehow get an ad-caster Yi going.
Hmm, lets see, his
Alpha Strike has lategame a 165(+ 190% AD) ratio while critting with
Infinity Edge. I don't think that would have enough potential in order to play ad-caster Yi.
Okay, found out there is a new item called spellbreaker, this definitly replaces
Statikk Shiv. It adds the missing AD and keeps the crit chanace. Also a nice mr boost. And tenacity, which I miss by not buying
Mercury's Treads.
