The Role of an AD Carry

In my opinion, the AD Carry is one of if not the most important roles in League of Legends. Their role is to put out max damage from far away. As an AD Carry, positioning is of utmost importance. putting yourself in the backs and sides of fights draw attention to you dragging enemies through your team. One important thing to note that I think is important (JUST AN OPINION) as an AD Carry, I find it better for someone else to initiate fights. Carries are not tanky and therefore, if you get focused you will die in seconds. Try not to make yourself a target! Spread your damage out through the whole enemy team setting up many kills for your team. Find more than 1 AD Carry that you are good at and familiar with. My top two AD Carry's are Caitlyn and Varus. But the most popular are Graves and Ezreal. When you are a good AD Carry you become extremely annoying. Being teamed in bottom lane with a support Janna or Blitzcrank, I find, is one of the most fun groupings in League. Hope this helps. R…

Thinking about new builds

Hello everybody, here is the deal...
I'm thinking about making a guide for noobs (aka beginners of LoL). Why? I saw many players playing ignorantly about their lanes, their roles, their champion picks, their rune pages. My intention is turning whoever read this guide into a better player.

Of course I'm not going to replace many vital guides/builds/links... think this as a manual, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I'll be wasting many time on it so if you think it would be useful please bump/comment

Thanks for your interest =)

Almost upon us

Here we are, a couple of days before the cup, and I've learned quite a bit in the last couple days.

Looking at support builds, finding strategic advice for supports in general, looking at items vs other itmes, and getting advice from an experienced LoL player (thanks DoughboyFresh!) and a good ammount of practice.

I'm looking forward to seeing exactly how far we've come compared from where we started.

Cheers :)

Contrasting Colors

Generally, choosing colors that reinforce the subject colored will make the text stronger. However, there is a big issue- often the color contrasts to strongly with the black background of the mobafire site that it hurts the eyes and makes it harder to read. This issue can be easily fixed by simply dropping the brightness of the text, but not all people know how to do this. I have a general idea myself, but for the people who can't, shouldn't the background to this site be slightly brighter? This would allow making effective guides simpler because one wouldn't have to adjust colors as carefully. We have managed without for a long time, and I'm not begging, this is simply a suggestion. I just thought this idea should be brought to the communities attention.

Thanks for listening,

First Guide of S3 (for me) is Out!

Its a pretty simple S3 Darius guide (but it also has the strongest BUILD on the site hands down :<). I didn't really want to make a match-up section as a lot of match-ups for darius are pretty straightforward, but I'll probably make one when I get the time, I have this bad habit of typing way too much in match-up sections though :<.

(Maybe I'll narrate it instead :O)

EDIT: Forgot link GG

EDIT 2:
Re-released it with a fixed cheat sheet and some added info, wasn't aware it was so overwhelming to people. Thanks to tehasian and OTGbionicarm for the initial feedback, wish I could let people preview guides without publishing them. (HINT HINT)

How to win ranked games

So, I'm not even sure if I'm going to make this into a real guide. I was trying, but meh. So now, I'm going to just going to put it here to help you guize. If you enjoy it, please spread it around. I was going to release it as a full guide, but there were bugs in releasing a general guide in the high elo section. This is extremely rough, but I think I got the message across.

Throatslasher's guide on how to gain teh elo'z

Who am I?
Hello, MobaFire. My name is throatslasher, and I hit 2k elo last season. Honestly, it wasn't that difficult. One of the biggest woes I hear about in League of Legends is the dreaded ranked solo queue, but it doesn't have to be.

What is this guide about?
In this guide I'll be sharing my tested, proven tips and techniques to increase your win rate in ranked solo queue. Individual champion strategies will not be discussed here, but I may give a brief overview of a large group of champions and their impact in a typical solo queue game. I'm not going to get …

Caitlyn Count 4-0

So I'm sorry to say, but other things have taken my attention, and I have to skip over the 3-0 for now due to lolreplay not working for me at the moment. Something about a newer version of league is installed. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeegardless! I have the fourth installment ready for you, due to the fact I played it last night and it is still fresh in my mind.

Lane: Bot
Role: ADC
Champ: Caitlyn
Endgame total score: 13/4/13
Support: Nami
CS:209
End Build: Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, Berserker Greaves, Phantom Dancer, Vampiric Scepter, Pickaxe.
Gold total: 17k

The game started off fairly terribly, actually. Their team didn't have a jungler, so we were expecting an invade, but unfortunately, we gave away three kills total and our Zed was denied his red buff. Post that, found out that the nunu bot support was a gold player last season, and caitlyn was harassing pretty hard so I'd say she wasn't new to this either. However, due to the fact that they didn't have a jungler and our top lane could ac…

Caitlyn Count 2-0

Caitlyn count, 2-0

Okay guys, I'm going to start with a different format this time, giving you the endgame stats as a list, and I'm probably going to do likewise in future blogs. A weird thought, I know, but certainly helpful for my own eyes and I suppose probably makes things a whole lot easier to read if you just want to know stats.

Lane: Bot
Role: ADC
Champ: Caitlyn
Endgame total score: 11/5/11
Support: Nami
CS:
End Build: Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, Berserker Greaves, Phantom Dancer, Last Whisper

So we were purple this time, and believe me when I say this, not used to that yet, but still did pretty well. Overall I watched the replay of my own game, and there is a lot that I could improve. First of all, I could land more skill shots, ie my peacemaker, by getting sliiiiiiiiiightly closer. I mean like about 90% of my missed skillshots were DEAD on for direction, would have hit, but were off by about half a pixel's space. With that in mind, I believe that with time and practice,…

League Thoughts (#2)

Ok so today was a fairly good day. Gained 34 points.
I got an idea from one of the enemy Akali's so her is what she said.
"Riot needs a passive point system for players who do well but still lose."
While it does seem like a nice thought it would be hard to work around.

Here are some way I believe it could be implemented:

1. A 1.5 or higher k/d/a ratio so that just going flat positive would get you points but actually being a good player would. Ex. A 3/3/0 or a 1/3/4 game should not give you points cause they average to 1 kill per death; a 1/2/3 or a 5/2/6 game should give you up to 8 points in my opinion.
(Now although most of you will not agree with this first implementation I still think it is sort of viable.)

2. The points could be team averaged. Ex. The losing teams combined k/d/a is 20/34/36. The losing team should gain about 2-5 points each for having a positive combined score.
(This option seems a tab more viable IMO. As it can give a losing team an objective even if there is…
