Hey guys, I'm Baird. I'm a mid lane main, that's recently lowered my champ pool and will be making guides for all of these champions. I currently main Zoe, Twisted Fate, and Yone. I flex pick Casseopia and LeBlanc when needed. Zoe is one of my favorite champions for solo queue and I highly recommend picking her up. Learning this champion in general is fun, and you only get better the more games you put in.

For this current preseason, I've played 80 games on a new account, holding a 60% winrate and going from Silver to Plat 2. I peaked Diamond 2 in Season 11. You can find my opgg here.

Pros:

+ One shot potential throughout most of the game
+ Very fun to play and fun to learn
+ Decent blind pick with the right teams
+ Easy pick potential
+ Strong build paths
+ Fun mechanics that can be learned the more games you play

Cons:
- Punished by CC
- Can be easily ganked
- Bad sidelaning
- Subpar Waveclear
- Weak from behind, have to make use of E
- Subpar matchups when new

Due to how good Electrocute is on Zoe, I will only be covering the primary build as it covers 99.9% of situations.

Electrocute: Highest snowball potential when paired with ignite.

Taste of Blood: Is a must for laning phase and helps for trading when paired with Corrupting Potion.

Eyeball Collection: Zoe is very easy to get kills and assists on, so this will stack up quickly. A must take.

Ravenous Hunter: The only flexible part of the Domination Tree. I feel as this is the best out of the options but do what you personally prefer.

Biscuit Delivery: A must take on Zoe. Super good for lane phase, especially when paired with Timewarp Tonic. Helps you stay in lane.

Timewarp Tonic: Another must take on Zoe. Great for lane phase, and helps you easily trade against enemies.

As for runes, I always take ignite and flash. Only take teleport if you're in an extremely bad matchup.

Zoe is a champion that is criminally underrated when it comes to fighting early game. People never expect her raw damage early on. She is thought of as a one shot champion that is weak early game.

Something that people don't expect and I don't see many Zoe's take advantage of, is their passive. When fighting early, focus more on procing your passive twice with your Q just then hitting your Q. You can outrade enemies early just by hitting your passive procs.

By taking W secondary, you are given two options much earlier on. For starters, gift bags can spawn on that new wave. If you get one, make sure that you get this gift bag. It can win you the lane depending on what is in it. Even if you don't get this gift bag, you can still win early fights because of ignite paired with your W. Your ignite (and flash) proc your W. This extra damage your W gives can actually burst enemies early on, making them not realize just how much damage you're doing.

My other recommendation when fighting early on is using your R and E together. If you R forward and wait <1 second, you can tell which way enemies will walk. This makes for an easy E opportunity, and can result in massive damage or a kill.

Zoe has a better lane phase than people give her credit for. She can play agressively early on with Corrupting Pot, as well as ignite with her W. Go for early trades and make sure to zone melee enemies. Post 6, use your R agressively and go for big trades or even kills. R + Q is a good combo for poke, as well as R + E + Q + Auto + Ignite (which can kill early on with electrocute).

Make sure to be observant of your mana, especially if you run out of corrupting pots. Once you get your Lost Chapter buy, start using your the majority of your mana around your level ups. This will help you poke more consistently while not being forced into a back.

Warding plays a big part in Zoe's early lane phase, so make sure you're buying control wards and playing smart. Getting behind on Zoe can make you borderline useless during late game, so make sure you're not dying to ganks.

Roam and farm as much as possible. Make sure you catch open sidewaves, but don't over extend yourself. Zoe excels in river skirmishes, and missing those could cause you to fall behind. Zoe needs to get a lead to be very useful, so do not miss these fights. It's worth missing a wave to be in these skirmishes, as picking up kills will snowball you much faster.

In skirmishes, make sure you're playing around terrain for a surprise E or Q, which can cause an enemy to die. If you poke a carry out, your team can likely secure this objective for free. Zoe is very versatile in how you want to play her, so make sure you're using your abilties in accordance with how the fight is being played out.

Late Game has become more uncommon recently. However, if you're in a game as Zoe late game, make sure you're playing around your team. Making hero plays can result in you getting punished hard, so don't be too greedy. Use your bubbles strategically for picks, and don't go too deep. Play around the summoner spells as well to help keep distance or go agressive.
