Champion Build Guide
Instead of relying on flashy “save-the-day” moments, this build thrives on constant support tempo, helping your team win small trades, secure skirmishes, and snowball into objective control.
PROS:
- Strong Shields
- Strong disruption/poke tool in Q
- Good against High CC team comps
- Synergizes decently with almost anything.
- If you're in an All AD team you increase Teams AP Damage with abilities.
CONS:
- Not very good against range.
- Pretty long cooldowns.
- Very vulnerable if Q is on cooldown.
- Not Very Mobile
Summon Aery: Buffs Milio’s poke AND shielding — ideal for proactive support play.
Manaflow Band: Fixes his early mana problems so you’re not stuck sitting on E cooldowns.
Transcendence: CDR is king. More spells, more saves.
Scorch: Adds lane pressure when paired with poke ADCs (like Ezreal or Jhin).
Secondary: Domination – Treasure Hunter (Or Flex)
Treasure Hunter: You’re not just playing Milio, you’re playing Team Gold Advantage. Every takedown gets you closer to Shurelya’s or Moonstone — and the earlier those come online, the harder you roll fights.
Flex Option: Ultimate Hunter: Viable if you’re teamfight-focused. But in most cases, Milio’s true value is in his consistent uptime — not a big ult every 90s.
Dark Harvest – A Niche but Surprising Pick
Dark Harvest is definitely an off-meta rune for Milio, and it won’t be viable every game — but when it works, it really works.
The key here isn’t about Milio becoming a burst mage — it’s about capitalizing on overlooked poke windows and amplifying your team’s damage when enemies are already low.
People don’t expect Milio’s Q to hit as hard as it can, especially when combined with passive autos and an early item spike.
Dark Harvest procs after enemies are below 50% HP, which means your teammates do the setup, and you get to finish the job.
And here's the clever part: Milio’s W buffs attack speed, meaning your teammates can apply on-hit effects (like Dark Harvest) for you while standing in your Empowered Healzone™. This gives your team a pseudo AoE execution trigger that can catch enemies off guard in extended fights.
That said, it’s not a consistent rune for every matchup — if you're into long, slow scaling teamfights or your comp lacks early pressure, it's probably not worth the tradeoff. But in poke lanes or aggressive kill lanes? It adds unexpected lethality to Milio's otherwise gentle touch.
Why Not Guardian?
You could go Guardian, but let’s be honest: it’s safer, not smarter. Guardian makes sense for reactive playstyles — this build is for players who want to set the tone in lane and beyond.
Rush those power spikes. Your ADC becomes godlike when you do.
Starter: Given
First Core:
Shurelya’s Battlesong: Movement speed for engages, disengages, and chasing down resets. Perfect for Milio’s kit — especially when you E someone who’s going in.
Moonstone Renewer (alternative): Best when paired with sustain lanes or against heavy poke. Passive heal stacks add up.
Follow-Ups:
Ardent Censer: Procs off E and W — buff your ADC into a crit machine.
Redemption: Adds cross-map value and heals stacked with Moonstone.
Dream Maker: Adds shield layering, ideal for keeping multiple teammates alive.
Use E aggressively to peel or reposition carries.
Don’t be afraid to Q as a zoning tool — it doesn’t always have to hit.
Position your W where your team wants to be — not where they are.
