I am Xopito, Challenger brazillian player whose mains are Zed and Talon. This is my first guide, so i hope to help you in some way. Sorry for my bad english, since it’s not my native language.

As shown above, my favorite runes for Talon are Armor Penetration Quintessences and Marks, HP/Lvl Seals and Magic Resist Glyphs. However, in some matchups, you shoud change them.

In most matchups you’ll be facing champions that won’t allow you to trade damage until lvl 6, since you’ll be tanking minions and the enemy champion if you try to jump on them. That forces you to safely farm until lvl 6 and go all-in. In this case, you won’t need AD runes in the early game, as you won’t trade much damage with AA, so this rune page is recommended.

When you’re facing an AD-based champion, however, you can change the HP/Lvl seals dor flat Armor seals. You should also change Armor Pen quints to AD, because in most AD matchups you’ll trade much more damage with AAs and Spells in early. The rune page is displayed below.

Talon basically has fixed mastery points. If you choose to start the game with Corruption Potion, you should go with the “Assassin” mastery. Otherwise, go with “Secret Stash”.

Some Talon players prefer to focus Cutthroat after maxing Rake to deal more damage after building their second item. However, if you focus Cutthroat instead of Noxian Diplomacy, you’ll lose a lot of split push potential, so I personally prefere Shadow Assault> Rake> Noxian Diplomacy> Cutthroat

Overall, Talon is a mid-game champion. After lvl 6 you shoould focus on roaming and picking off targets out of position. In team fights, you must try to assassinate high-priority targets, be it an enemy Marsman or a squishy Mage. You can use your Shadow Assault to deal more damage or to reach the enemy carry while invisible.

Here I’ll be going through some situtional items.
Maw of Malmortius : You shoud build it if you’re taking too much magic damage in lane or when the enemy team has two or more AP-based champions.
Sterak's Gage You should build this item when you are being easily bursted by enemy AD champions.
Trinity Force You should build this item if you’re having a good early game but your team doesn’t have a good team fight potential. Build it if you plan to split-push.
Mobility Boots should build it only if you are leaving your lane a lot.
Lord Dominik's Regards You should build this item only if the enemy team has two or more Tanks.

When you play Talon, it is normal to have less farm than your opponent, since you’re a melee champion with mana limitation, and if you play too aggressive, you will be ganked. Try to farm safely until lvl 6, only then you should try to recover your disadvantage.
