Hard -> Hell matchup, it's basically a skill matchup, if you successfully invade or countergank her it won't be too hard. She can kill you easily early game, if she gets good in her game she'll kill you no matter what you'll try to do.
Introduction
Here's My OP.GG, 63% winrate [3:56 KDA] on over 220 games with Shaco (Overall 60% winrate).
This build is clearly the best build for Shaco in season 7 (at least that's what I think).
The best rank I've ever got on Shaco : #957 World.
To begin with this guide, I want to clarify few things :
- If you're a beginner player with Shaco I strongly recommend you to watch videos of Pink Ward. He has incredible mechanics, even tho he is mostly playing Shaco Top, it will help you a lot (it helped me so much when I played Shaco for the first time).
- I won't recommend you playing Shaco in ranked, he is possibly the worst jungler in the current meta (even Ezreal is better). After the huge nerf on him he went from Uber to TrashTier, wait for a buff.
- Everything that I say in this guide is the reflection of my opinion, I started maining Shaco in the Toplane and as the nerfs went on Shaco I decided to play him Jungler instead.
Flash: In my opinion Flash is a really bad summoner spell for Shaco. If you start playing flash with Shaco, there are high chances that you won't be able to play without Flash anymore. |
Smite: There's not much to say, you HAVE to take smite as a jungler. Jungle clean, steal objectives... (You don't need to take a jungler item, smite will help you secure / steal objectives). |
Ignite: I'd rather take ignite than flash, it allows you to secure kills when you gank or invade, it's also a good spell to limit heals or lifesteal. It also scare people early game. |
Pros
+ Can be deadly if you OneTrick him + A very good mid-late game if you won the early game + Really good mobility + Easy to do / steal objectives + You can dodge many deadly spells with Hallucinate (+Split Push) + With Deceive it's almost impossible to kill you (that's a tilter) + A very good mid game if you won the early game (+ Really fun pick) Shaco is a really fun pick in normals, you can easily invade the enemy jungle early game with Deceive and steal the blue / red buff. You can also bait the enemies in one of your Jack In The Box, it will sometimes give you a free kill. You can jump through walls with Deceive, making objectives easier to steal. Hallucinate is a really good spell in team fights with the Shaco bruiser build, you can also mind trick your enemies with it. Shaco is really good to get kills on low HP targets (like Soraka who keeps staying backlane with only 20% HP). |
Cons
- You need to OneTrick him to be good (because of the Nerfs) - Worst Jungler in the current Meta - Oracle Lens is the biggest counter against Shaco - Weak damage compared to full AD Shaco - Very easy to kill you when your Deceive is on CD - Overall a really bad pick for CC combo teams Shaco is sadly a really bad jungler pick in the current meta, he can be extremely useless against some comps. He is a free kill when his Cooldowns are on ( Hallucinate and Deceive). Plus, his Cooldowns are very long early game, that's why you're running for CD reduction items. If you loose you're early game it can be really hard to recover from it later. Shaco is hardly punished if you're doing a bad positioning, you have to focus on objectives (this is in my opinion the only thing that Shaco is good for; secure and steal objectives). |
|
Deceive (Q): Shaco blinks to the target location and becomes invisible. Deceive's invisibility is not removed when Shaco casts Hallucinate, while casting Jack in the Box causes him to shimmer without removing it. Deceive will help you proc your passive because you'll be able to jump behind targets. It's a really good escape. Warning: if you cancel an auto attack while you're invisible, it will automatically cancel Shaco's invisibility. |
|
Jack In The Box (W): Shaco creates a Jack In The Box at the target location with 150 health. It will Stealth after 2 seconds, and pop out when an enemy comes near, fearing nearby enemies causing them to run away from the JackIn The Box and attacking them. It lasts 60 seconds while stealthed or 5 seconds while firing. Warning: You can't stack 2 boxes at the same place, if you try to stack boxes it will automatically push the second box away (+ Must place boxes to clean jungle). |
|
Two-Shiv Poison (E): Passive: While Two-Shiv Poison is ready to cast: Shaco's basic attacks poison his target, reducing their movement speed for 2 seconds. Active: Shaco throws a dagger to target enemy, poisoning them for 3 seconds and dealing magic (+75% of ability power) and physical damage, plus up to 50% additional damage based on target's missing health. I recommend you using Two-Shiv Poison to execute a target who has low hp (+ Thunderlord's Decree ). |
|
Hallucinate (R): As soon as you get level 6 + Tiamat, use your ultimate to get the first Drake, make sure your clone tank the objectives (same with Herald), Backstab procs on your clone too. If you do your ultimate in a teamfight when you have Trinity Force and Titanic Hydra it's GG. You can dodge a lot of spells when casting Hallucinate, you can control your clone and if he goes to far from Shaco, he will teleport on Shaco (Combo: Deceive > Hallucinate). |
- Jack In The Box : level 1 for jungle clear, after that don't bother maxing it, just wait until you've already max all other spells. - Deceive : level 2 for early gank and invade, after that put 2 other points, it will be just enough. - Two-Shiv Poison : level 3 for early gank, invade and jungle clear, max it after putting 3 points in Deceive. - Hallucinate : level 6 (of course), after that, max it whenever possible. Without your Ultimate, you're a dead Shaco. |
Duskblade of Draktharr : Early burst, 10% Cooldown Reduction, high damage with lethality... It will helps you executing squishy targets during the whole game and cleaning wards. It's a must have with Shaco (And it's overall a must have to assassinate squishy targets). |
Boots of Swiftness : I prefer this boots over the others because they will help you chasing targets. They give you a good mobility on the map. You can also take Mobility Boots, but I still recommend you the swiftness ones. |
Trinity Force : Also a must have on Shaco in my opinion. It will helps you 1v1 enemies and it will allows you to fight tanks. I prefer this item over Blade of the Ruined King because of the Cooldown reduction and the passive. |
Titanic Hydra : You can rush this item instead of Trinity Force if you're really far ahead, it's a tank item but with the active it's also a good item to assassinate squishy targets. Your clone also proc the passive. |
Guardian Angel : Damage and armor. It's a really good item because of the passive, your clone doesn't proc the passive of this item. If you decided to take Blade of the Ruined King instead of Trinity Force take Frozen Heart instead of this item. |
Maw of Malmortius : Survivability against AP carries. It also completes your 40% Cooldown Reduction Bruiser build. If there's no AP in the enemy team comp, take Sunfire Aegis or Thornmail to complete your build. (Take Ionian Boots of Lucidity if you choose these options) |
