Too strong, and you probably can't 1v1 unless he used his stun. If you can, try quick, short fights, as anything prolonged will screw you over.
Introduction
Now Udyr’s Q is Tiger Stance. When activated, he gains attack speed, and gives his next basic auto attack to deal burn damage over 2 seconds,. The attack speed boost can be 30%-70%, and the extra damage based on rank and scales from 120-180% of your AD. Crazy scaling right? While in this stance, and while the active is gone, you apply burn damage over 2 seconds on your 1st & 3rd auto attack, and enemy champions who already have this have their stack refreshed, and have the previous stacks damage done instantly, which can be used to burst squishy targets. Normally this is used for 1v1s and can also used for very fast jungle clear against single monsters, but against something like Raptors, it’s better to use Udyr’s R, Phoenix Stance. If you do have enough AD though, you can do burns that kill the enemy, and you can just walk away, because the burn will kill them. Do this for maximum BM.
Udyr’s W is Turtle Stance. When used, a shield comes up and disappears after 5 seconds. The shield takes up to 200 damage and gives him healing on his 1st & 3rd attack. It takes from 60-200 damage and scales with 50% AP. The healing does not scale with AP, but does give up to 5% maximum health based on how much you’re missing, meaning that you can use this to tank tower shots, which is very useful if you don’t have any minions nearby. Now this ability is great, and while the effect is super boring, it’s one of the best spells you can have as a jungler, as it gives sustain and shields you from incoming damage. It’s also great with 1v1s, as it shields you long enough to either go into your next stance, or run away with your E, Bear Stance.
Bear Stance is Udyr’s E. When activated, you gain movement speed, from 15%-35% based on rank, which lasts up to 3 seconds at max rank. It also allows to go straight though minions so that they don’t block your path when you’re chasing down enemy champions. Now this may just sound like a movement buff, but the persistent effect is what Udyr players love the most about. It stuns. So that means if an enemy champion is running away, BOP, they got stunned for a second and now must endure the power of either your Tiger or Phoenix Stance, and when the stun goes away, you can either Turtle Stance and tank the damage they are trying to deal to you, or use Bear Stance again to chase. Now in order for Bear Stance to not be this OP ability that infinitely stuns the enemy champion, you can only stun the same champion once per 5 seconds, so that sucks but when they start running away, just Bear and stun again, because the movement speed will help with holding them down so your team mates can help kill the champion. It also helps against either blue or red buff, since it allows them to do less damage for you while you use Turtle Stance to heal off any damage you may have taken.
Phoenix Stance is the other damaging ability you use in Udyr’s kit. When activated, it gives a Sunfire Cape like effect around you. It lasts 4 seconds, damaging each enemy every second, and it scales with of your 25% AP. It’s persistent effect is that during your 3rd auto-attack, you deal magic damage in a cone. Now while the active damage scales with 25% AP, the damage from the cone scales with 60% AP, dealing a lot more damage. This ability is usually taken around level 1-6 to help with Jungling, as it’s great for Raptors and Wolves, but for 1v1s, it’s better to just use Tiger, since it does more damage overall.
With Press The Attack, you want to take Triumph, Legend: Alacrity, and Coup De Grace, allowing for really high damage. You then want to go into the Domonation Tree, going for Cheap Shot or Ingenious Hunter, for the same reasons as listed before. This is better for more early-mid game.
Now some may say, “But Gaodzilla, Lethal Tempo is broken!”. In return, I say, it’s valued too much, when you already get plenty of attack speed from your Q. A lot of other runes are good on Udyr, but Dark Harvest allows for a lot of damage. Press The Attack, Grasp Of The Undying, Aftershock, and a few others are good too, but since Udyr is a mid-game champion, the other runes normally take too much time to actually be more useful. If I really wanted to suggest something else, I would say Electrocute would be pretty decent.
Your next item you get is a Tiamat. Great waveclear with Tiger, and really useful to increase your jungle clear. Also you can use it to make your auto animation faster, and can be that one small bit of damage to end up killing that enemy champion.
Your next item, should be a Trinity Force. All the stats really help with Udyr, with the Attack Speed helping with activating the 3rd attack on Turtle and Tiger, while overall increasing DPS. The mana and health boost helps, but what we really want here are those great passives, Spellblade and Rage. Spellblade also activates very quickly, just like Udyr’s abilities, allowing him to do quite a bit of damage. Rage allows you to chase enemies with Bear Stance, and makes you very fast. Since Udyr’s base AD is absurdly strong, you can do a lot of damage with Spellblade.
Get Titanic Hydra as your next item. The passive Cleave also helps with your clear, and the passive scales with your Health, something Udyr has a lot of. The active is what helps Udyr Burst units though. Full build, an extra 400 damage on your AA, and the thing can be applied on Objectives too, which can be used to destroy turrets very quickly. Just pop its active when in a 1v1, and do an extra damage. This results in a quick kill against anything that isn’t a Tank, a Jax, Shen, or a Darkin Form Kayn.
Your next item depends on the situation. Look at their team. If they have a AD champion that does a lot of damage, go Dead Man’s Plate. If they have a AP mage that does too much damage, go Spirit Visage. Both of these abilities help with surviving, but Spirit Visage allows you to heal a bit more from Turtle, and Dead Man’s Plate can give extra tanking, while speeding you up that much more quickly. If you’re in a neutral state, with not much to worry about, grab a Long Sword and start building into Sterak’s Gage, which is a great item for Udyr since you gain even more AD, which is always useful for your Q, which scales very well.
Now normally, your games won’t allow you to actually get to full build, so my most ideal build path would be Warrior -> Trinity -> Titanic -> Sterak’s -> Dead Man’s -> Spirit Visage.
When in a 1v1 situation, Udyr will almost always win, because of how much damage he can do along with W, which can heal you for a ton. If anyone really counters Udyr, it would be Jax, Xin Zhao, certain tanks, like Rammus or maybe even Galio, and Darkin Form Kayn. Udyr’s job after mid-game is to split push. He doesn’t really offer much when it comes to teamfights, since he’s an all melee champion, but he can serve as an INCREDIBLY strong split-pusher, since his attack speed along with Warrior is so outrageously strong.
P.S. I'm Silver 5 with the MMR of Bronze 2 so don't stake your life on this guide. Most of this is probably just straight boosted so tread with caution. If you somehow screw this up, I am not responsible for any lost Elo.
