Living Vengeance (PASSIVE)
Varus Passive Ability
Introduction
This is the best keystone for ADC right now as it provides a great amount of sustain and a burst of movement speed. |
Takedowns restore 12% of your missing health and grant an additional 20 gold. This is arguably the best rune. This can keep you alive from Ignite or another champion. |
Takedowns on enemies grant permanent Attack Speed. This is good for scaling into late game and have overall DPS |
Deal more damage to low health enemy champions. This is good for securing kills, and executing low HP enemies with your Blighted Quiver and Piercing Arrow. |
Gain increasing amounts of AD or AP, adaptive over the course of the game. This is good as it gives you a decent late game, and you scale well over the course of the game. |
Gain 3% extra MS. Gain extra AP or AD, adaptive based on your bonus MS. This is good for ADC's because you gain extra move speed helping how immobile most ADC's are. |
Living Vengeance, On kill or assist, Varus temporarily gains Attack Speed. This bonus is larger if the enemy is a champion. |
So how should you play Varus?
In lane: You want to level your Hail of Arrowsin most situations since it is very hard to miss in lane, and works well with trading efficiently. At this point you want to be pushing for level 2 immediately. At level 2 you level your Blighted Quiver to do more damage per auto. After nerfs, leveling Piercing Arrow does not provide as much damage. Level 3 is where you are strongest in lane as Varus has his burst combo, where you quickly get 3 stacks of Blighted Quiver and you pop the stacks.
After level 6/ After laning phase: This point in the game is most crucial for Varus to preform. Mid game is where you shine most with getting picks and sieging down towers after getting picks. At this point in the game you should have your completed so you should be able to shred towers. Varus tends to fall off in the late game so you must be able to get your picks mid-game especially if you are against a hyper-carry like, Twitch, or Jinx.
