Hopefully, this will help you understand him better and these builds will hopefully help you in game. glhf! I've been playing LoL since Season 5 and quit around Season 6 only because the person who invited me to this game quit and I had no one else to play with so I quit. My friends told me to start playing again so I did and I've been enjoying it ever since!

Pros + Galio is very VERY fun to play because of his abilities. + He fits in to all lanes and positions (except ADC). + Galio is easy to get kills with. + Your Shield of Durand can stop it from enemies getting away, but also to stop them from getting to your team. + Easy wave clear from Winds of War and Justice Punch.

Cons - He is usually targeted by the enemies right away since he is really strong. - Uses lots of mana is laning phase. - Shield of Durand gives your damage reduction but also makes you taunt them. Not viable if you're low. - Can be easily countered. - Very slow MS and Attack Speed which is not what you build.

Your passive is extremely good for finishing off enemies and wave clearing. Also use in combos to chunk their health. Very useful

This is a great ability for wave clear and combos. Winds of War is probably one of the most important abilities for team fights and for your kit.

This ability is your key ability for support, tanking, and team fights. Run into a battle with your team with this to attract attention and take all of the hits since you have damage reduction. Key ability.

Justice Punch is your escape tool but also your attacking tool. Use justice punch to boost away from enemies (make sure to get out of the way first) or to knock them airborne which will help you attack them.

Probably the reason why most people want to start playing Galio or wanted to try him. Utilize in teamfights when your team rushes in or to help out you lane if they are getting pushed or ganked. Most iconic ability.

Flash is very important to Galio since he is slow but it also works in combos. It can be used in a W ( Shield of Durand) and Flash combo to taunt the enemy to set up an actual combo. It's also just the best summoner spell in the game. This item is used for the purpose of tanking and helping your team. You can teleport to a tower that is taking damage. You could teleport to a teammate's ward and help them out. Overall a good item but could be swapped if needed.

Arcane Coment

Arcane Comet is good for that extra poke with your Winds of War ability. It also applies with your E, Justice Punch which will damage them a little more making it easier to pull off combos.

You could swap it with Summon Aery but I personally don't think it is as good as Arcane Comet.

Manaflow Band

You really need this mastery since Galio takes up A LOT of mana. This will help you stay in lane longer and stay in team fights without having to recall. An essential item to Galio, always take with any build.

Transcendence

Take Transcendence. Trust me. This will scale your AP late game giving you the advantage at team fights and challenging. It also helps with laning since at level 10 you gain the extra CDR and AP if you get extra CDR. Very useful, a need in your kit.

Gathering Storm

Gathering Storm is a great item for Galio as when the laning phase is over he already scaled with the AP from it making him a threat to the other team.

This helps most in late game when you are tanking/attacking since you got the boost of AP. Very good mastery, could swap for Scorch if needed in a matchup.

Triumph

Triumph is a very good mastery for Galio. It will make you a major pain in the enemy's side when you're tanking. If you get a takedown you restore some health which will make you harder to kill if you're assisting your teammates in a fight. A big need in your masteries.

Coup de Grace

Mastery is for finishing off enemies in laning phase and in team fights. The extra damage will secure the kill, making you just that more of a threat to the enemy.

These items are very important to any Galio build since they are core items that make his builds his builds.

Rod of Ages will greatly help Galio when playing. It is probably one of the mostessential items for Galio as it allows him to slowly tank more and more making laning and mid game easier to withstand. Very important as it can combo with your Banshee's Veil. It is very useful if the enemy team is really harassing you and you need some protection. It also helps with support since you'll be tanking the damage from your ADC, some of the damage they deal will be reflected back at the enemy ADC making them weak and easier for your ADC to kill. This item is crucial to take if you are tanking or your laner is strong/fed. It is good in tanking because it combines with you W, Shield of Durand and Thornmail. It can also help in support since you will most likely be taking all of the shots which means you can be protecting your ADC better without wasting summoner spells and items. Rabadon's Deathcap is pretty important to Galio builds because you mainly build health AND AP which means the items you bought for health will give you less AP. Unless you buy this item. Very important to fighter builds. This item is good in almost every single game. Since your W, Shield of Durand will grant you an automatic MR shield you don't really need Mercury's Treads so this item will help with any AD champions on the enemy team.
