Introduction
Hello summoner and welcome to my Twitch Guide! My name is Only Teemo(don't judge me already...), actually Platinum 5 on the EUNE server. Past 3 seasons I've ended platinum but we'll talk about me later if you wanna know my story. I don't play many champs but without any doubt, Twitch is my favorite ADC ! I'll try to do my best in this guide and I hope that I will make you love Twitch as much as I do. Your feedback / propositions are welcome ! |
Twitch is a ranged Attack Damage Carry. I would also qualify him as one of the best assassins. His Ambush will help you to escape from dangerous situations, and if you're doing well you can kill almost anyone within 2 seconds and run away safely. His ult, Spray and Pray makes you a hypercarry, wich means that you will be able to destroy an entire team alone. The must difficult for you, as a Twitch player, is to get into the fight at the right time, in the right place. |
Pros
+ Attack speed steroid + Stealth --> Ambush + AoE slow --> Venom Cask + AoE spell damage --> Contaminate + AoE AA damage --> Spray and Pray + Hypercarry + Fun champ to play, due to his stealth |
Cons
- Weak early game - Squishy - Weak to CC - Easy to gank - Small range (auto-atack) - No escapes (dash) - Long cooldowns on spells |
|
Press the Attack: I think that this is the best keystone for Twitch because you will firstly increase your DPS on the enemy team, increase the damage that your team will deal, and also with Spray and Pray you'll hit almost everyone 3 times which will activate the keystone. |
|
Overheal Some people will prefer Triumph, it's up to you, but in this guide, you will take sometimes Bloodthirster and added to Overheal, you'll have a 500 HP shield. Also in early, when you'll farm, you'll have something like a 30-40 HP Shield, and this can make the difference between a kill or a death. |
|
Legend: Alacrity: As Twitch you MUST stack atack speed, it scales with you so well, and sincerly, the other choices aren't really good for you. |
|
Coup de Grace: Again, up to you, if they have a squishy team, without many tanks it's a good choice, if they have lot of tanks, as you are squishy, you can take Cut Down. |
|
Absolute Focus: Lot of people are taking Celerity but let me explain why I don't. If your health is above 70%, this rune gives you 24 AD at lvl 18. Almost every game, as the ADC, you will be lvl 15+, and 90% of the time, you will start a late game teamfight with more than 70% HP. So would you prefer 1.5% movement speed ( Celerity) or 24 AD ( Absolute Focus) ? |
|
Gathering Storm: Longer the game will be, more powerfull you will become. At 30 mins, it gives you 29 AD, which is absolutely insane for a single rune. TAKE IT ! |
Ambush RANGE: Self RANGE TO SEE YOU: 500 COST: 40 mana COOLDOWN: 16 seconds DURATION: 10 / 11 / 12 / 13 / 14 ATACK SPEED: 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50% |
Venom Cask RANGE: 950 COST: 70 mana COOLDOWN: 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 seconds SLOW: 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45% SLOW DURATION: 3 seconds |
Spray And Pray BONUS AA RANGE: 300 COST: 100 mana COOLDOWN: 90 seconds DURATION: 5 seconds BONUS AD: 20 / 30 / 40 |
- DON'T USE Contaminate if the enemy don't have at least 4 Deadly Venom stacks on him. The damage is not worth the mana you'll spend.
- Use Venom Cask to escape / engage ennemies, the slow is pretty big and lasts 3 seconds.
- Ambush's cooldown is really long. Use it wisely, like just before a teamfight starts, so you can position yourself well, and you'll also have the Atack Speed bonus when you'll start hitting them.
- Without Spray and Pray, you're a normal ADC, with a small range, squishy, easy to focus. So keep Spray and Pray only for teamfights.
Doran's Blade Should be your first item. It gives you HP, which will help you staying alive, gives some damage, and some lifesteal to have some sustain while you farm. |
Doran's Shield This is actually the recommended item from the shop when the game starts. It gives you HP, which is good, bonus damage against minions and some HP regen over time. It looks good but with this item, you won't be able to win any fight on lane, cause your damage is really low. Personnally I wouldn't take it. |
First item to rush. It gives you anything you need, Atack Damage, Atack Speed and Lifesteal to sustain your weak laning phase. You can use it's active to chase/escape/kill someone. |
Twitch has no escapes except his Ambush, but you can't really count it like a real escape if the enemy team is near you. You're already weak, if you're also slow, you will be a free kill for almost anyone who can poke/slow/cc you. |
YOU MUST TAKE THIS. Boost your Atack Speed, Critical Chances and gives you some Movement Speed. Also, it scales so good with your Spray and Pray. You're already able to hit the entire enemy team, and with the passive of this item, you'll hit 2 of them twice. You can almost kill them all with 2 items. |
As you have bought essentially items that gives you Atack Speed, now you need some Atack Damage. It's not a cheap item, but it will give you a lot of damage, and will double your Critical Chance which will be 60% now. It also deals some true damage if you hit a critical hit, which will help you to take down the enemy's tanks. |
This should be your 5th item. At this moment of the game, the enemies will understand that you are a threat for them so they will begin to build armor. |
If the enemy team is squishy you should take this as the 5th item. With Infinity Edge and Runaan's Hurricane you will have 100% Critical Chance. You will be able to delete them within 3 seconds with Spray and Pray. |
I actually (September 2018) buy this item after I got my Blade of the Ruined King and Berserker's Greaves. It gives you Atack Damage and Atack Speed. It's a good choice if you're winning your lane and want to completely destroy the enemy bot lane. I know it doesn't seem to be a great choice but try it one time, you will be amazed by it's power. |
Last item to buy. You are already dealing tons of damage. Your only problem now is your weakness. With Overheal and Bloodthirster you will be able to start teamfights with a ~500HP Shield. It's 25% of your MAX HP that you add to protect yourself. The Lifesteal bonus will counter enemy's Thornmail. |
You should take this item if the enemy team has assasins that can burst you within 1 second, like Zed, LeBlanc, Rengar, Fizz or Talon. If you die in late game, your team will lose ~60% of his damage. |
Against a CC team, you must have something to escape. Mercurial Scimitar will help you agains champions like Veigar, Morgana, Lux, Amumu, Sejuani, Ashe and many others that can stun you and make you a free kill. Again, if you die in late game, your team will lose ~60% of his damage. |
Difficulty: 4 / 10
Easy to medium matchup. Your laning phase is weak, which will make the first minutes kinda hard to handle if they poke you or your support. Play safe till the first back, then you should normally have Bilgewater Cutlass which will give you some sustain so you will be able to fight them and recover some HP if it goes bad. You are definitely not a early game champ so try to farm well amd take objectives until mid game. |
Difficulty: 10 / 10
DODGE THIS ! You didn't .. ? Okay .. Well, let try to handle this as good as possible. You gonna have a bad time down there. Avoid as much as possible fights. Try to farm and don't let them engage you. If possible, ask your jungler for some ganks. Even if you kill them once, you should still play safe when they come back, you're one of the weakest ADC on earth, imagine Leona's stuns and ult + Jinx's ult. You'll die before you can flash or heal, and your squishy support won't be able to help you against so much burst. |
Difficulty: 1 / 10
This should be the easiest matchup you can have. The tank will protect you and take some damage if necessary, which removes a lot of pressure and gives you some freedom on the lane to farm safely. Try to reach level 2 before the enemies and jump on one of them. They will take a lot of damage, and will play safely till they reach level 5-6. If you didn't reached level 2 before them, you can still try to poke them but Twitch is not the best ADC to do that so you should focus on farming and your support should try to hit them when they farm. After the first back, you should come with Ambush on the lane and go all in on them. The tank sup will be enough strong to engage and make them use some spells on him so you can come and burst them safely. |

ANSWER

Which champion should I ban ?
|
Definitely Yasuo. His Wind Wall will counter your Spray and Pray making you really useless. Trust me, that little wall can change the game. If he is already banned by one of your teammates, then you should ban your direct counter, Caitlyn. |
I am tilted, I've lost my last 6 games, my mom is screaming and the neighbour tries his new drill. Should I continue to play ?
|
No. When you play Twitch you have to focus on 2 things. POSITION YOURSELF WELL and DON'T GET FOCUSED. You won't be able to do these things, because you won't be concentrated and you will do ****. Then your teammates will flame you , you will flame them and you're good for a long long lose streak. Punch your brother, do your homeworks, go for a walk, drink some tea, and after 2-3 hours you can come back. |
Is Twitch Jungle playable ?
|
Yes, he is, but you really need to know what to do there, and you are really really vulnerable to counter-jungle. I think Twitch's place is on the bottom lane. |
As a new Twitch player, what should I focus on first ?
|
Twitch has a really unique playstyle, without Spray and Pray you are just a basic ADC, with a small range and not so powerfull spells. So for the beginnig you should learn how to use Ambush to enter team fights at the right place, at the right moment. |
I've started playing League of Legends in Season 3 on EUW servers. I discovered Twitch when I was ~ lvl 15. Twitch was free that week and as every new player, I wanted to find a champ that deals tons of damage. I readed his spells and said "meh, looks like it's not enough powerful". Then, 1 day before the free champs rotate, I tried him.
At that time, when you entered into stealth, no one could see you, even if you're close to them. I'll always remember, the enemy jungle came to gank us, I ran into the bush, activated the stealth while praying for my life and then, saw them desperately searching me. At that moment I knew that this will be MY champion.
I played him, more and more, to finally reach Silver in Season 3. But you can't play only one champ in League and hope to climb. So I started to learn Teemo, Morgana, Fiora and Ashe. That helped me a lot and I ended Gold in Season 4. Then I went on EUNE cause a lot of my friends were playing there.
With a freshly new account, I just bought 16 champs to enter rankeds and started to play again my Twitch. With 20 champs(Got every year a new champion + his victorious skin), I've ended Platinum in Season 5, 6 and 7.
If you want my advice to climb, learn 1/2 champions per lane. Like learn them really good and you will climb naturally. I play Twitch, Teemo and Morgana and If I can reach Platinum elo with those champs, I'm sure you can do the same or better !
I think that's all about me. See you on the justice fields summoners !
