Ok, so since we are building ap alistar, you will want to get that
Archaic Knowledge
, so I put 9 in damage tree. I like to go 21 in defence tree so Alistar can still be very tanky while dealing a nice amount of damages. If you feel confident about your early game you can also go 21 in Ability tree but if you do I strongly recommand you to get armor and magic resist runes because during the early game alistar can be very squishy.

For runes I like to go
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration, Greater Seal of Defense,
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist and
Greater Quintessence of Health. But
Greater Seal of Armor,
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist and
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power can be very good at the beginning if you grab
Boots and try to gank early during early game or if you take your
Doran's Ring you can be very aggressive in the laning phase. I must say that you need to get some armor and magic resist in either your runes or masterie tree because if you don't you will have some serious trouble early game until you reach level 6.
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration is great for magic penetration.
Greater Seal of Defense gives a really nice armor buff all game long.
Greater Seal of Armor is a very good big early armor.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist same thing but with magic resist.
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist is a very good early magic resist.
Greater Quintessence of Health gives you survivability early game wich is great on alistar.
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power gives you a nice ability power boost at the beginning but I recommand you to take the
Greater Quintessence of Health if you go for early ganks.

Greater Seal of Defense gives a really nice armor buff all game long.

Skill details
The first skill of Alistar is
Pulverize. This skill has a small range of 365 that deals damage in the area around Alistar. it toss the ennemies in the air and stun them on landing for 1.5 seconds. It also deals 60/105/150/195/240 magic damage +50% of your ability power and cost 70/85/100/115/130 mana. It has a coldown of 17/16/15/14/13 seconds.
The second skill is
Headbutt. Alistar rams at the target, dealing damage and stun the enemy while he is knocked back. It has a range of 650. It also deals 85/130/175/220/265 magic damage + 70% of ability power and cost 80/90/100/110/120 mana. It has a coldown of 14/13/12/11/10 seconds.
The third skill of Alistar is
Triumphant Roar. This is a healing skill. It restore health to Alistar and 50% of that value to nearby allies and it has a range of 575. The coldown of this skill is reduced by 2 seconds every times that a nearby enemy dies (minion, monster or champion. It restores 60/90/120/150/180 health + 20% of ability power and it costs 20/30/40/50/60 mana. It has a coldown of 12/12/12/12/12 seconds
The ultimate of Alistar is
Unbreakable Will. This skill can remove any CC when Alistar casts it. Alistar gains 60/75/90 attack damage, has 75% of the physical or magic damage reduced for 6/7/8 seconds. It costs 150/150/150 mana. It has a coldown of 120/100/80 seconds.
The passive of Alistar is
Trample. This passive is activated everytime one of Alistar's skill is used. When active, Alistar can walk trough units, and it deals 9 + (1 x level) magic damage + 10% of his ability power for 3 seconds to enemy units and structures. The damages double to minions and monsters.

Simple, you start with
Pulverize then max
Headbutt whenever you can and after that
Pulverize. Of course you max
Unbreakable Will whenever you can. You can also max
Pulverize first instead of
Headbutt but
Headbutt deals more damage and makes it easier to *nuke* someone.

Common damage skill order

Team CC skill order

Good spells
Flash It's good on any champions because of the fact that you can blink from a side of a wall to another. On Alistar you can combine it with his CC like
Headbutt then
Flash will double the distance between you and the ennemi, or
Pulverize then
Flash over a wall. Keep that in mind. I also like to use
Flash when I'm a little late for a teamfight so I can just
Flash in and then hit as much people as I can at once with
Pulverize. It's a great spell if you want to engage the ennemi's team while keeping your
Headbutt to push a carry towards your allies.
Exhaust It's a good spell too but I don't recommand it just because Alistar already has 2 good CC abilities. However, it can be great if you engage a chase with
Exhaust then
Pulverize and then you use
Headbutt to push him towards your allies or your tower or just to make sure he doesn't escape.
Ignite It's a great spell because it's true damage. For example, it's good on Alistar when he use
Unbreakable Will because his ultimate can't reduce the true damages. At least 1 person per team should have it to counter healing champions like
Swain.
Teleport It's a good spell too because once you have
Pulverize and
Headbutt, you can
Teleport in a lane behind the ennemis if they crossed the minion's line and then you can
Pulverize and
Headbutt them in a terrible spot for them like in the range of your tower or closer to your allies.
Clairvoyance Can be a good choice if you are the only one picking it since it's a free ward.
Ghost It can be good on him but I would recommend to get only
Flash since it's better but
Ghost can also be good for chasing but can blink over wall. You choose but don't get both.
Smite Only take this if you jungle with Alistar (Might do a jungle section).
Bad spells
Heal It's a terrible spell for Alistar since he already has an ability that heals
Triumphant Roar.
Clarity It's a bad choice. Mana regen is better just because
Clarity will gives you a bunch a mana once but Alistar's Abilities cost a lot so a few
Headbutt later you will be out of mana.
Rally I don't know what to say here >.>
Revive Just a bad spell.
Cleanse Don't get that since Alistar has his ultimate
Unbreakable Will that already act like a cleanse.
