The Relentless Storm (PASSIVE)
Volibear Passive Ability
Introduction
Donning the chieftain's traditional armor and enchanted gauntlets, Volibear began the long and perilous climb up the slopes of the mountain. When he reached the peak and gazed into the raging storm above, he saw a horrific vision of a Freljord utterly consumed by war. Amidst the carnage, the Ursine fell dead upon a bloody battlefield. Believing the vision to be an omen of things to come if he did not act against them, Volibear traveled to the capitol of Freljord. The Ursine had not ventured across the southern mountains in centuries and his appearance was met with unease. However, Queen Ashe recognized Volibear as a wise and powerful ally. In what Volibear considered the first step against a war-torn future, they forged an alliance. As part of their agreement, he joined the League of Legends in the name of a unified Freljord, representing the primal might of his nation on the Field of Justice.
''Few can weather the storm that follows in the wake of Volibear's roar.'' - Ashe, the Frost Archer

Who wouldn't love a cuddly bear who helps the team all sorts of ways and can RIP OFF YUR FACE?
With this build you will have a support-tank who can dish out some good burst damage! End build you will supply the team with AS, Lifesteal, passive armor pen, armor, MR, HP/5, and a little AD. With the second build you will also give some CD reducton and MP/5 at the cost of some armor.

For Seals I use

For Glyphs I go for straight CD

Quitessences I pick up greater quintessence of desolation
I base my mastery selection on two premises. I always go 9 offence 21 defense
1. Volibear is an auto-attack melee champ.
2. Volibear is a tank, and as such initiates and takes damage frequently
Teir I
Brute Force
Teir II
Alacrity
Teir III
Weapon Expertise
These masteries give me some extra attack damage, attack speed (which
Volibear loves!), and some extra armor penetration.
In the Defensive Tree I use
Teir I
Summoner's Resolve
for improved cleanse and heal
Resistance
MR
Hardiness
Armor
Teir II
Durability
and
Vigor

Teir III
Veteran's Scars
for flat health
Teir IV
Initiator
and
Enlightenment
for initiating and CDR
Teir VI
Juggernaut
for max health and tenacity boost

The Summoner Spells I use for this build are
Cleanse and
Heal.
There are some other summoner spells that could work out as well, such as
Exhaust to help with laning harrass,
Ghost for extra chasing and initiating speed, and
Smite even though this is not a jungling guide
Volibear is an excellent jungler with
Frenzy
and
The Relentless Storm.
Surge is also an extremely viable option for the attck speed and AP boost which really help you tear up with your ultimate
Stormbringer. I would only use
Surge in a off-tank build along with
Heal.
