*BEST* S11 Talon Runes/Builds Guide For Beginners

By DabiDabi
This is a Talon guide for Low Elo Players and Beginners. I am sure there are a lot of new players who want to main Talon, so here is a complete Talon guide I have put together to the best of my abilities. The builds and runes are already on the runes and builds guide so I'll only be going over combos and gameplay.
Talon's Abilities
Talon's abilities:
- Talon's passive is Blade's End: After hitting 3 abilities Talon's auto attack will do bleed damage over time.
- Talon's Q is Noxian Diplomacy: Talon stabs an enemy and gets an extra auto attack. Hitting Talon's Q in melee range will be a guarantee crit. If used ranged, Talon will leap onto the enemy. Killing an enemy with Q refunds some HP and CD.
- Talon's W is Rake: Talon throws 3 AoE blades forward which returns. The returning blades slows the enemy and does more damage.
- Talon's E is Assassin's Path: Talon can leap over any terrain or structure but puts a long cooldown on the structure that was jumped over by Talon.
- Talon's R is Shadow Assault: Talon lets out a ring of blades and becomes invisible while gaining movement speed. If Talon uses an ability he will reappear, or true sight will reveal Talon. If Talon hits an enemy with Q or Auto, the blades will target the enemy.
Early Game
For me, I always start off with W level 1 to poke. When you get Q at level 2, try to always hit two W's and Q to the enemy to proc passive. You do not have to play aggressive if you cannot beat the enemy laner or if you just don't want to, since it can attract the enemy jungler to gank you. But if you do want to play aggressive try to stay close to the walls so if you get ganked by enemy jungler you have an escape. Talon's powerspike is from level 3 to 10. So just from you leaving lane to ward, the enemy will ping non-stop and the sidelanes will back off and stay under turret. If you are winning lane, and the enemy tries to freeze your wave and is farming under turret, try to look for a roam down or up to Bot or Top to help get your team get a lead as well, since Talon is one of the most mobile champions because of his E, Assassin's Path, which allows him to jump over terrains. But if both lanes are doing good and is winning, then play for lane. Stay in Mid and push,go to the other lanes if you want to get more kills.
Mid Game
For mid game, which is 15-25 you should already have gotten at least one or two towers from either lanes. This is when people start go leave their lane and gank other lanes. So if you have destroyed your enemies turret in your lane, it's time to gank Top or Bot and push their turrets. This is when Talon is at his best. Though Talon at level 6 is where he puts the most pressure on the map, do expect the enemies to fear you in mid game. Also try your best to win the game by this time since Talon falls off while the enemy team will start to scale.
Late Game
If you've made it to late game which is the 27-30 minute mark, you'll notice your damage has fallen, but since you've brought Conqueror you'll still be relevant in team fights because of Conqueror heal, which can help you sustain longer. During this time you can't really expect to 1v9 the game and will have to depend on your teammates. Remember this though, if you instead bring Electrocute, during late game, your damage will drastically fall and you'll not be relevant to team fights anymore. Good Luck!
Before ending it off, here are a list of Talon combos you can do.
- Auto, Q, Auto
- Auto, Melee Q, Auto
- Hit two W's,and follow up with Ranged Q + Auto to proc passive
- W, and follow up with Ranged Q to pull your second W back and then Auto to proc passive
- W, and Flash to pull your second W back, then Melee Q to proc passive.
Pretty easy right? Now lets head on and do some more advanced combos.
- Talon's Flower Combo : W + R + Q + Auto which is a one shot combo.
- E + R + Melee or Ranged Q + W
- W + Q + R
- Ranged Q + W + R + Auto
- Flash + R + Q + W
When in teamfights, try hitting all or most of the enemies with your Ult. And always use Ignite to secure kills if your are unsure that your combo with kill the enemy.
This is the end of my Talon Guide. I tried explaining this to the best of my abilities and trying to be as simple as possible. So thank you for your time and have fun playing Talon!
