Introductions
Hello everyone, i'm a bronze katarina player with 100k mastery on her. my IGN is Tragedee and i play on Garena's dead server. this is a guide i made bc shiro buli me bc i wanted my own guide with blackjack and hookers. If you decide to read this guide be warned you may lose braincells.

Why Katarina
I first decided to main katarina after seeing her in a list and reading through her skillset. playing katarina well makes you feel like a god, dashing everywhere and leaving daggers to come back to like it's all calculated (it's not. we're bronze)

Game Plan
Katarina as a champ plays games around teamfights. she will shine her brightest when cleaning up teamfights, as such, you shouldn't ever initiate a teamfight, as she will be cc'd to hell and back. instead let others (preferably tanks, maybe fed bruisers) initiate.
if you are sure the enemy has 0 crowd control up, you can attempt a 1v5 if sufficiently fed.
in general, katarina will have to play safe before lvl 3, with some wiggle room at level 2. before 6, just farm and try to get as much cs as possible without sacrificing too much hp.
when you get 6, it wil be a massive spike as you will have ult ready, and if you took AP early, your passive will have an extra 11% scaling. don't worry about wasting ult here, as kat's ult isn't what makes or breaks her, like zed or tryndamere
another powerspike is when you finish bork, if you decided to rush it. with this you will be able to 70-0 your enemy laner with the usual combo, and 100-0 if you beat them down with autos.
Since this is bronze, you will notice when everyone starts impromptu ARAMing in the midlane. this marks the end of the laning phase.
at this stage you should go to sidelanes that are pushed in and farm some more, while keeping an eye on where your enemy team is and anticipating if they start a fight.
if the lanes are not pushed in, you can take some jungle camps, as long as you leave some for your team too, as they will need some camps to farm too.
in teamfights, you should focus first on getting your first reset, by focusing on squishies or low health enemies you can kill. it is important to have fast reflexes here as kat it can save your life. enemies tend to throw skillshots at where you are and if you shunpo as soon as you get a reset it is possible to dodge several skillshots, which can save your life.
another thing is dagger placement. when you get more comfortable with kkat's reset, you can start planning where to place your daggers, mainly your Q, as it will always land a little bit behind your target. if you can shave off some other enemies while getting your first reset that will help in getting you your 2nd, 3rd, and maybe even 5th reset. don't worry about using ult early, what matters is getting that first reset, as kills will significantly reduce her ult's cooldown

Combos
Katarina is a champion with a high skill ceiling, and that means her combos are modular and can change depending on the situation. in any of these combos you can use your ult at any time to finish or even just shoving some health. not having ult isn't gonna make her useless.
i'm dum and can't get icons to work
Katarina's most basic combo is the E>W>Q combo. this combo lets you proc her passive and decide what to do next. you can E into the Q dagger to proc her passive twice before backing off or all in-ing, or you can decide to nope away from a seeminglu bad fight after proccing the first dagger.
This combo will be extremely useful if you want to poke with more than just Q, but can't stay on them for too long as they will win an extended trade. while waiting for the W dagger to come back down, you can attempt to dodge skillshots with the extra movement speed or squeeze in an extra auto attack for a little more damage. The second E is used to dash away and hopefully escape the brunt of their damage.
This is a combo that's useful to chase enemies with dashes or even just high MS like hecarim/lillia. if you're building straight AP it might deal little damage as the main source of damage here is the auto attacks you weave in. to start off, after the initial Q>E do NOT use the reset E immediately. it is for chasing. if the enemy doesn't run then you can E>W as an auto reset, as that will give more damage than simply popping off W.
