Now as for the Runes. Ill start with the Quints
Greater Quintessence of Scaling Attack Damage. They may seem like and odd choice especially for a carry but I find that Damage per level quints are the best for
Caitlyn or indeed almost any carry. Not only does it give you a small amount of AD to start with but it gives you a HUGE boost later on in the game, which can make all the difference. However if you don't feel comfortable with AD per level runes then feel free to replace them with flat AD runes
Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage.
Moving on to the Marks. Armor Pen Greater Mark of Desolation need I say any more? Any AD carry who doesn't take Armor Pen is a fool. I mean you're not exactly going to take Ap
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration runes now are you?
Next the Armour Seals
Greater Seal of Armor. Most of the time you will be in the bottom lane with your support against another AD carry. This will give you a small boost in armor especially at the start as you will be able to take their damage and deal out a LOT more with
Piltover Peacemaker.
Lastly We have the Glyphs
Greater Glyph of Scaling Cooldown Reduction. Now I tried a few combinations but I still think these are the best.
Caitlyn with CDR is death on legs... with a giant sniper rifle... and a hat. Moving on I honestly think these should not be changed. They make everything recharge faster. This means more
Piltover Peacemaker, more
90 Caliber Net, and more
Ace in the Hole. Seriously I don't know how many times 90 caliber net has come off CD just in time because of these little beauties. However If you really don't like them I suppose you could replace them with flat damage
Greater Glyph of Attack Damage or even damage per level
Greater Glyph of Scaling Attack Damage if you dropped the quints. Another suggestion would be to go either magic resist
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist or magic resist per level Glyphs
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist that would give you a bit more defense against all types of champions.

The Masteries are fairly simple 21 9 0. This is the set that I think brings the best out of
Caitlyn. With the damage maxed she will hurt like a ton of bricks. or one
Cho'Gath falling on them your choice :D. While this does make you do a
Cho'Gath of damage you still have that little health and survivability that will make you really annoying and painful to lane against. I looked at the possibilities of other mastery combos but i enjoyed shooting them in the face too much to use any other.

Early
Right, on to the Item sequence. You should start with a
Doran's Blade. This is an amazing item and if you play it right it can hold you in lane for quite a while. When playing
Caitlyn I am usually able to stay in lane with just one
Doran's Blade until I get my
B. F. Sword or even my
Infinity Edge! If you are able to hold that long then you should wreck their faces for a bit till they realise they had better get some armor. If you get the
Infinity Edge first then I highly recommend getting
Berserker's Greaves straight after because that's the point where you begin to get focused and you really need the speed and survivability they give. If you combine
Berserker's Greaves with
90 Caliber Net and
Yordle Snap Trap then you can escape from pretty much everything. I will point out that while in the item list I put get
Boots first that is not set in stone. Most of the time I dont even do that i just go for the
Infinity Edge straight off but thats just me. I created this guide to help you survive as
Caitlyn, so if you don't farm as much as I do or are not as aggressive then stick to the Item guide.
Mid
Now this is where you can differ slightly from the guide dependent on your play style. If you work better getting a
Phantom Dancer first then go ahead but i personally prefer getting most of the damage first over the speed and crits. For this reason I go for a
Bloodthirster first. Not only does it give you a lot of AD but it also gives you that life steal that will really kick in when you get the first
Phantom Dancer. But as I said its really personal preference.
Late Mid/End
At this point you should either be late mid or end game. This is where you get another
Bloodthirster. Once again another Ton of damage and life steal. At this point you should realise while you are running them down mid lane and soloing their turret that you may or may not have done this once or twice already in the game. Finally just to rub salt into the wound you buy another
Phantom Dancer. At this point when both of your
Bloodthirsters are farmed to their max, you can go have a party with your old friend Baron Nasher. And by party I mean brutally kill him. Seriously this is the core point of the build. If you have reached this point and their not attacking your nexus you have won. You can right click sit back and watch the chat as they rage at you while you three hit them. The dual
Bloodthirsters plus Dual
Phantom Dancers means that they're not even going to bother trying to kill you. You'll be doing so many crits that their health bar will be empty so often it will begin to feel lonely. In the end they'll probably be more interested in the surrender button than trying to stop you. Now there is one last part to the build that I decided not to put up. You can replace the
Berserker's Greaves with one last
Phantom Dancer. This becomes speed hell for the enemy team and you realise that the sound of a machine gun sniper rifle is quite rhythmic.
Right, on to the Item sequence. You should start with a

Now to the skills.
Piltover Peacemaker
Your first skill choice should be
Piltover Peacemaker. This is the butter on the bread.
Caitlyn's icing. It is your primary source of damage early game. While it does use a huge amount of mana it also does a huge amount of damage and its range can be the difference between an enemy champion escaping and your
Infinity Edge. You get this skill at level 1 and max it first.
90 Caliber Net
At level 2 you should get
90 Caliber Net. This is
Caitlyn's escape move. This not only launches you backwards but hits any target in front of you with a net slowing them. This is amazing for escaping ganks and when being focused late game. Just point and click easy escape. Two important things to remember about this skill. One is that you can go through some of the walls on the map to allow a quick escape. I recommend familiarising yourself with the walls you can pass through and the walls you can't. Secondly remember that if you shift activate a skillshot it will instantly activate it in the direction of your mouse. This helps immensely with
90 Caliber Net. You max
90 Caliber Net second after
Piltover Peacemaker.
Yordle Snap Trap
Now I don't get
Yordle Snap Trap till level 5. I find that it's not really that critical a skill. Its only real use early game is for make-shift wards, but thats what your support is for (besides keeping you alive). Late game however you can be safe in the knowledge that you can place a trap down knowing that someone will step on it in a team fight, and when they do they will die almost instantly as you and your team pile them. But until then I really don't see it having a major use. Having said that If you are with a
Taric support then you should take one rank in it at level 2. When
Taric stuns them
Dazzle place it at their feet for an extra couple of seconds to kill them.
Ace In The Hole
Ace in the Hole is an amazing move. It finishes off your opponents extremely well and almost always gains you a kill. Its only problem is that its very easy to body block. However If you are fed or reach late game with the right items you will always get a kill with it. It will get to a point that people will move out of the way of it. Get this skill at every possible moment. Late game however when you have all the items it will become redundant because you'll just own them with your AA.
Headshot
Headshot is a beast of a passive. For every 6 auto-attacks your next AA will deal 150% to a champion or 250% to a minion. It can be used to finish off enemy champions, begin fights with enemy champions, Harass enemy champions, and farm creeps extremely quickly. All these uses and its just one skill. It does work very well when attack and enemy champion with
Piltover Peacemaker. Fire
Headshot and use
Piltover Peacemaker to quickly finish off an enemy. This is the only skill that doesn't become redundant when you carry. In fact it makes you do even more damage! :D :D :D :D

Your first skill choice should be

90 Caliber Net

At level 2 you should get

Yordle Snap Trap

Now I don't get

Flash
Flash is the ultimate of the summoner skills. Not only does it allow to to catch up to enemies but it also allows you to get away from ganks. it's a second
90 Caliber Net.
Heal
Heal is a very useful skill now that it has been buffed. It now restores quite a bit of health. Most of the time the health it does give can be enough to get away from any gank your caught in or just to give you a little boost late game. It also allows you to be placed with more supports like
Alistar. Considering his heal isn't really that good unless you build him AP then it can be handy to have heal on you.
Other Possibilities
Cleanse
Now it has been buffed it has some useful applications on a carry. It will make it easier to escape ganks. If the enemy has a CC heavy team then take it but otherwise dont bother. I would replace
Heal with
Cleanse if I chose to take it.
Ghost
Once again another escape move. however it can be used for chasing effectively I wouldn't take over
Flash but thats personal preference.
Exhaust
A very good skill on
Caitlyn. If you find those kills are slipping away from you then this is just what you need.
Ignite
Just like Exhaust good for securing kills. replace
Heal If you are going to take it.
DONT TAKE
The only two that really have any benefit are
Clarity and
Teleport. However late game you have no use for mana, and you should be sticking with your team so
Teleport isn't that much use either.

Finally the end. Sorry there's so much to read through. (Oh wait no i'm not :D) I will point out that this guide is not a way to Insta Win with
Caitlyn but its pretty much as close as your going to get. As I said at the start of the guide this is my first guide so I would very much appreciate it if you post some comments in chat. either saying what was good or what should be added. All of these will be taken into account and likely added.
Lastly have fun as Caitlyn
