Introduction

Alistar, even that people still think he is only a support he is a very viable jungler with godmode ganks and team utility.I have been playing alot and i seem to love him. He is very sustained in the jungle with good transition so he can start at many paths.

Mouse-over any items or abilities to see their tooltip.

Runes

Greater Mark of Resilience

Greater Seal of Resilience

Greater Glyph of Shielding

Greater Quintessence of Swiftness

Ok I editted this, now im using Armor Marks too for safer jungling if you start without Cloth Armor, Armor yellow is a must for every jungler, MR or MR/5 Glyphs for some defense against mages and for Quints Movement Speed seems like the best choise so you can position better for a Headbutt gank.

Summoner Spells

- Nothing mutch to explain here, must have for every jungler.

- I love this spell on Alistar, you can Flash behind them, Headbutt them to your team and then Pulverize them so they can't run away.

Skill Sequence

At level 9 you should max Pulverize because it gives soo much damage in the jungle or when ganking, then Triumphant Roar for sustain in the jungle and Headbutt last because it's good with only one rank and ofcourse Unbreakable Will whenever avaible.

You can also max Triumphant Roar first if you prefer being more support-ish but with the recent nerfs to its mana cost its better to max Pulverize first.

Starting Items

- Better mobility for better ganks.

- If you aren't going to get a leash or if you don't have armor runes you should buy this. You can buy it too if you are afraid from getting invaded.

- Nice first item if you plan on farming a Philosopher's Stone fast.

Core Items

Philosopher's Stone
Philosopher's Stone
Gives you a safe game even if something goes wrong, gives nice regeneration early and gives you more time to roam aroung.

Heart of Gold
Same as Philosopher's Stone .

Sheen
Gives you a nice damage mid-late game and you don't even have to turn it into Trinity Force its still good without it.

Other viable items

Ionian Boots of Lucidity
On Alistar its better to build CDR than AP or AD

Frozen Heart
Nice for tanking and mana since your spells cost alot of mana and CDR is never bad.

Aegis of The Legion
Awesome item for Alistar, but its better for the Support to get it.

Kage's Lucky Pick
Kage's Lucky Pick
More gold/5 and builds into deathfire gasp later.

Force of Nature
Gives Movement Speed, MR and some Health Regen, only problem its that it's kinda expensive for a jungler.

Spirit Visage
Better self-healing and CDR and on top of it it gives MR! Plus cheaper than Force of Nature .

Ninja Tabi
Only get this if the enemy team has like 4 AD or if you started with Cloth Armor .

Mercury's Treads
Another awesome choise against those fed mages or lots of CC.

Guardian Angel
Realy is this bad on any champion?

Rylai's Crystal Scepter
Gives you HP, awesome slow, and AP, only that its a bit expensive.

Quicksilver Sash
You get this if even Mercury's Treads wont help against their CC.

Jungling

ALL CREDIT GOES TO STONEWALL008!

You can also start with Wraiths -> Red and gank but it's safer to go with Wolves -> Blue and you dont get mutch from Red buff since Alistar's ganks are strong even witout it.

The WQ combo!!!

This a combo every Alistar should know, if you mess it up however it will get worse for you so you should realy be able to do it. The most easy way to do it is to Smartcast and know the range of the abilities so you can do it without mistakes. However you can "macro" keys with some keyboards or mouses (like I do) so you c an do it instantly with no mistakes.

Summary

Wanna play a free, easy, and a good jungler? Why not give him a try. He doesn't need items to do damage or tank, he has godmode ganks and still a nice clear.
