Introduction

Just to let everyone know this is my very first guide so if there are some mistakes/suggestions please them in the comments that way I can improve the quality of this guide. So anyways after reading through many different Pantheon guides for dominion I felt everyone seemed to miss the mark and made him less of a threat than he actually is. Pantheon is by far one of the best characters to play dominion with, he is a great disruptor and can usually turn the tables on enemy champions with ease and with a little skill and practice can score double and triple kills pretty easily making it easier for your team to capture points. Pantheon is all about armor penetration and ad, the mix of these can take down an enemy champion very quickly and they will never expect it. So without further ado let's dive into what makes Pantheon a force to be reckoned with.

Masteries

Okay so I know I'm not running 21 in offense and a lot of you are thinking "pssh what is he thinking" but with 11 points in your offense tree you touch on all your key points and the 19 in utility covers for how Pantheon is so mana hungry early to mid game and the Awareness is just an added bonus letting you level up faster and allowing you to get to 6 and gain your biggest disruption, Grand Skyfall

Items

Now you may have looked at the Item build and thought to yourself "Why don't you get your boots first?!?!?!" and yes I know dominion is all about fast paced movement and capturing points but I will explain my reasoning for waiting on your boots in a little bit.

The Brutalizer
Personally I believe this to be the ultimate item for Pantheon. With the added ad and the great passives of armor piercing and cooldown reduction, makes the enemy champions run in fear. The reason I decided to go with The Brutalizer first is that Pantheon is great at taking the bottom first and pushing to the boneyard or the quarry depending on which side you are on. With The Brutalizer as your first pick it is easy for you to gain early kills and push enemy champs away from their turrets to capture the point.

Mercury's Treads or Ninja Tabi
Now the choice between these two are game dependent. If the enemy has more ap and has lots of CC choose Mercury's Treads, but if the enemy is more ad oriented get Ninja Tabi, on the flipside of that though if the enemy is a good mix of both ap and ad go with Mercury's Treads because of the tenacity boost. Both of these options provide good magic resist or armor early game and allow you to dominate very well in the early game.

Last Whisper
What an amazing item this is the +40 ad and +40% armor penetration makes you the biggest threat on the field. This in combination with The Brutalizer makes you virtually unstoppable. Just watch as the enemy's health drops dramatically with every hit.

Sanguine Blade
Basically Bloodthirster but for dominion. The added damage and lifesteal is a very nice bonus, but unlike Bloodthirster Sanguine Blade does NOT stack with every kill but it stacks its passive up to 7 times during a fight making it a very nice choice in dominion.

Odyn's Veil or Thornmail
Again this is game dependent Odyn's Veil works great with the Mercury's Treads for magic resist and Thornmail works well with Ninja Tabi but in my opinion Odyn's Veil is your best choice since it does give you a very nice boost of health and mana and the active is just an added bonus.

Force of Nature or Frozen Heart
I took out Warmog's because as I realized it was very unnecessary. Doubling up on armor or magic resist just makes you a tank and I say this as you have the armor that makes you extremely rugged in battle and still dishing out major damage at the same time. I played a game very recently where I picked up a Frozen Heart and a Thornmail and was almost completely unstoppable I will upload the scrren cap to prove it. My team was down 7 to 281 (very bad I know) I picked up Frozen Heart first and picked up Thornmail next even though I felt I didn't need it just with Frozen Heart alone and the cooldown reduction on it made me unstoppable, I just started dominating every champion on the enemy team including a full powered Shen by myself this gave my team the time they needed to turn the game around, now in the end we still lost but we were able to drop them from 281 down to a measly 31 before we actually lost. I ended up at the end having 24 kills which is very substantial when it comes to dominion. Here is the screenshot from that game and some others showing that even though my team was defeated I ranked #1 almost every game.

Runes

So runes with Pantheon are pretty simple Greater Mark of Desolation, Greater Seal of Scaling Mana Regeneration, Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction, and Greater Quintessence of Desolation.

Greater Mark of Desolation Greater Mark of Desolation
Just your basic armor penetration marks but a very crucial part of the build that makes Pantheon so deadly.

Greater Seal of Clarity
Now this was a little bit harder of a choice on my part to put this in my build but Pantheon is very mana hungry early game and needed something that would suffice his hunger and these seals did just the trick. with these seals you can usually find yourself dominating very early in the game because you wont have a shortage of mana and thus all you have to wait on are your cooldowns and that is what your Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction is for.

Greater Glyph of Focus
These glyphs help Pantheon a LOT. If you have ever used Pantheon before you know his cooldowns are his biggest weakness. But with these glyphs his cooldowns are nice and short, now you will be ready for any fight and not have to worry about waiting on your cooldowns.

Greater Quintessence of Desolation Greater Quintessence of Desolation
These Quints can be quite costly but it is definitely worth the IP. This is the cherry on top of your build with a whopping +3.33 armor penetration these bad boys don't mess around especially with your item build. All in all your armor penetration lets you tear through an enemy champion and destroy them before they even have a chance to defend themselves.

Summoner Spells

Flash and Ghost

Since Pantheon has no real means of escape through his abilities I have decided to use Flash and Ghost. They are both offensive and defensive spells. They can be used to run from an enemy or simply gain on a fleeing enemy to pickup the kill.

Abilities

Pantheon has a very nice set of abilities at his disposal on the downside though he has a very limited range which can make him a little difficult to play at first but with the one two three combo of Aegis of Zeonia, Heartseeker Strike, and Spear Shot can take down just about any enemy (that isn't a tank) with one combo.

Aegis Protection
A great passive, after attacking or casting spells 4 times you get a shield that blocks the next normal attack that does 40 attack to you. This means you can make enemy champions say "Oh sh-t!!" when you turret dive after them even when they use Garrison since Aegis Protection blocks turret shots also.

Spear Shot
Fear the spear!! This is one underrated ability to say the least and with your item build this thing gains some power and becomes a great finisher when your enemies try to flee with low health.

Aegis of Zeonia
Okay while this ability doesn't do tremendous damage it does set you up very nicely for Heartseeker Strike with its stun. This ability is also good if you are trying to run away use it for a quick stun and then Flash or Ghost to get out of a very sticky situation. Just for some common knowledge though if you have 2 or more enemies following you when you are low on health DO NOT USE THIS just Flash or Ghost away as if you do use this to stun one enemy the other one will be there waiting for you and it will be a quick death.

Heartseeker Strike
Now this is your baby, 5 quick strikes with your spear in front of you almost ensures the enemy is dead. This ability has the ability to take down 85-100% of the enemies health which makes it your main ability that is why you level this ability up as fast as you can followed by Spear Shot to ensure you get the kill you are after.

Grand Skyfall
This is an extremely useful tool in dominion because if its range (yes riot tuned the range down but it is still very effective). At level 3 it deals 1000 damage in the middle of your circle. It can be used as a getaway method, a disruptor as when you use it while enemies are capturing points the usually cant decide whether to stay or leave and if you hit them while they are capturing it stops their channel plus the added bonus that it slows your enemies makes it that much easier for you to run up to them and use Aegis of Zeonia with Heartseeker Strike, also this ability can get you to a position to help an ally defend a point much faster just beware of the cooldown on it and use it wisely.

Gameplay (finally the fun part) and summary

So as you already know dominion is about speed and capturing points but with Pantheon the game changes a little bit, your main focus is not capturing points, your main focus is killing enemy champions and defending your points. Now yes you can play very offensive with this build and capture points but as you will find out you become a one man army when it comes to kills making your teammates jobs a little bit easier. Just remember your one two three combo with your abilities and don't be afraid to pick up the storm shield in the middle of the field or pick up the health buffs. Remember your main focus is harassment and kills and don't be afraid to disappear in the fog of war to comeback around and take another shot at an enemy you didn't quit kill or is a little tougher to kill. The speed boosts around the map also help you get around a bit faster when your Grand Skyfall is on cooldown. With this build it is easy to pick up 15+ kills a game along with 4 or 5 point captures which is respectable. So good luck to all of you who use this build and don't forget to rate.
