Who am I?
For those of you who don't know too much about Renekton, he's a top laner. He's an extremely strong tanky bruiser, and can turn a gank around by the activation of his ultimate, Dominus, but we will get to that later. Renekton is amazing in solo lanes, and in blind draft there will normally be two enemies in top lane, Renekton can get double kills for days. He has a high DPS when built right, and can have a lot of HP, to keep him alive in team fights, or enemy engagements. He is my favorite champion, and I hope you will find a new love for him. Let's get to the nitty-gritty about Renekton, and his top laning abilities! Without further ado, here is Renekton, the tanky top lane bruiser!
Your rune page should look like this. Flat AD Marks and Quints. Flat Armor Seals, and flat MR glyphs.
As I said in the notes, typical top lane runes. AD for the damage, obviously, armor for sustain against AD, and MR for sustain against AP. I would not recommend any of runes for top laning, but to each his own.
The offense masteries are pretty normal. Ignite cooldown, normal CDR because Renekton has long cooldowns. Deadliness give the damage per level, which Renekton really needs if he wants to be a bruiser. And the Armor Pen. for those expecting you to build AD, and stack armor.
Renekton needs lots of Defense if he wants be a tank. Health Regen, and scaling health are pretty good for him. Armor and MR to go with the runes. Unyielding has damage taken by enemy champions reduced, which could save your life, and the reduction of slows will save you, as well. The 30 HP to help with the tankiness. Safeguard helps you tank turrets. Block is just like Unyielding. A lot of people say that Tenacious should be maxed, not Juggernaut, but we want tankiness; more HP = more tank. Defender, again, to match the runes, and the Goods Hands can help with saving your team. Having that -10% of time spent dead is +10% more time being alive. It really does help. Lastly, Honor Guard is a no brainer. -3% damage from EVERYTHING? Hell to the yes!
Well it's the fun part of the guide, where we talk about the items! I can now explain my reasoning behind why I choose these things.
So, the Rejuv Bead will provide a constant HP pot-like regen. It will heal you less, but if you're against a high damaging champion like Jayce, the pots will be shredded. Also, it can build into Warmog's Armor, a good tank item. The pots and ward are self explanatory.
The Doran's Sword is for the tankiness, and damage. The shield is to help with auto-attack reliant enemies, like Udyr. The boots you can build into Merc Treads, or Ninja Tabi. The Long Sword is for your Brutalizer.
These are the items you want to rush. Specifically, the Brutalizer for more damage output, and the CDR. Armor Pen. is for the enemies stacking armor against you. The Giant's Belt will help you with the tank items later on (Randuin's Omen and/or Warmog's Armor.). Choose Merc Treads or Ninja Tabi, depending on the enemy team's lineup.
These core items are what will make or break your build. As I said, rush the Brutalizer. I take Randuin's, then Spirit Visage, but you can buy them in your preferred order. Those two items are what will provide you with your main Hit Points, and Armor. The Randuin's as well. The Spirit Visage gives you HP, along with MR. Try to get them as fast as possible. Get Dragon whenever available. Jungle for a bit if you must.
Pick whichever suits your needs. Warmog's Armor for added sustain and some health regen. The Sunfire provides good magic damage, especially against enemies who didn't stack MR. I would recommend Sunfire more if you're against a high AD team.
Get the Black Cleaver before the Ravenous Hydra. Black Cleaver is, basically, and upgraded Brutalizer. Using it, you can take away 25% of your opponent's armor. Very good if they're stacking it against you. Ravenous Hydra is pretty cool on Renekton. His W will have you unable to attack for a few milliseconds after use, so pop the Hydra's active whilst using your W; it will cut off the animation, but the effect still works. It's pretty damn cool!

Renekton's skills are what will keep him alive. Especially his Q and R. So. let's get to it...
Renekton's passive is Reign of Anger. Whenever Renekton auto-attacks, he gains 5 Fury. When not attacking, Renekton will lose 5 Fury every 2 seconds. When Renekton has 50 or more Fury, his skills will be "empowered", allowing them to deal more damage and such.
Renekton's Q is Cull the Meek. It will damage enemies and a heal Renekton for enemies he hits. Renekton will spin in a circle when activated, and hit all surrounding enemies. Damage caps are: 60/90/120/150/180 along with 80% of your AD. The healing caps are 50/75/100.125.150. Renekton heals differently hitting enemy champions compared to enemy minions. 20% of damage dealt to champs, and 5% of dmage dealt to minions. Will grant 5 fury on hit.
With a Fury bar of 50 or more, Renekton will do damage at 90/135/180/225/270 (50% additional dmamage), along with 120% of AD. The healing with 50 or more Fury will be 150/225/300/375/450 (40% against champs, 10% against minions. Healing cap is doubled).
Tips: You can use it to do a lot of damage to enemies in skirmishes and it has a surprisingly long range. I will normally spam my Q key when in a fight, especially when low. It feels like Renekton spins faster, but I guess it's just a placebo. I don't know. It will save you with the healing.
Renekton's W is Ruthless Predator. It will change the color of his blade, showing it is active. On hit, it will stun the enemy you hit for a 0.75 seconds, and will hit them twice. It will deal damage to a cap, along with some of your AD. Grants some fury on hit, and will deal on-hit effects (Like Frozen Mallet passive). Physical damage per hit: 5/15/25/35/45, with +75% of your AD. Total physical damage dealt will be: 10/30/50/70/90.
With 50 Fury or more, Renekton will hit the enemy 3 times, an additional 50% damage. The stun is increased to 1.5 seconds, will deal on-hit effects, but will not grant fury. Total damage: 15/45/75/105/135, along with +225% of your AD.
Tips: Use it to stun an enemy to set up a gank. I will discuss some combos later on. But you can use the two hits to last hit an enemy champion, rather than catching up for two basic attacks, just press W in range.
Renekton's E is Slice and Dice. It is a two part move, that makes Renekton "slice" or "dice" towards or away on enemy. Hard to explain, I guess. He dashes... for lack of a better term. Anyways, the Slice is what you will use first. It does physical damage that caps like: 30/60/90/120/150 with 90% of your AD.
If Renekton lands his Slice on any neutral or enemy monster, or champion, he will be able to Dice for 4 seconds.
Dice is the same as slice, some damage and everything; but when Renekton has 50 or more Fury, the dice's damage is increased to 45/90/135//180/125. It will, also, dice through the enemy's armor, penetrating (haha) 15%/20%/25%/30%/35%. Reduces, actually.
Tips: We can discuss combos now. You can slice in, W, Q, and slice out. Or, Slice through a minion wave, W, Q, and if your opponent runs, Dice to catch up to them. Once again, good to set up ganks. You wait a bit back, SLice, W, Q, and then your jungler can come in. It's very efficient.
This is Renekton's ultimate, Dominus. When activated, Renekton will grow in size, and increase his health for 15 seconds.. The ability says he draws in "Dark Energy"... I wonder what kind of "dark energy". Anyways, when Dominus is active, Renekton will deal Magic Damage to a cap to all surrounding enemies.
Health gain: 300/450/600
Magic Damage/second: 40/70/100 along with +10% of your AP (You should have none)
And the total magic damage possible is: 600/1050/1500 with +150% of your AP (Again, have 0)
Tips: Don't be afraid to pop it if you feel you will die. I do it all the time, especially against enemies with heavy lifesteal, or self heal, like Aatrox. The Magic Damage should drain their HP faster than they can replenish it. You can activate it in team fights to do a load of damage to your enemy team. I should say this nice and clear, *clears throat* DON'T BE AFRAID TO USE IT!
As for the sequence, itself, Cull the Meek is your main damage output, so max it first. Put a point into Slice and Dice, then Ruthless Predator. Max Slice and Dice second, because you can deal good damage if you clip an enemy champion while trying to E, W, Q, E combo them. Then, Ruthless Predator last, because the damage on that is fairly minimal, and will get more powerful as your basic attacks do. Take Dominus at 6, 11, and 16, like all ultimates.

Since you are going to be top laning, try to freeze the lane. Don't push up to turret. Over extending will lead to ganks, but you can turn them around as Renekton! But why take the chance?
Obviously, last hit all minions, or try. IF you start Purple, take Double Golems, or even Red Buff, if your jungler is a nice person. Nothing special about his farming.

When you're in lane, you must still be farming up. If you see your opponent somewhat low, be cautious to go in. The turret isn't too farm away! I would say, if you want an easy game, keep farming. In the lane, don't fight too much, no matter how amazing you think you are. I've tried. To avoid ganks, remember, wards are your friends. I don't care if you don't want to waste your gold, BUY THEM. Warding wins games, and ganks win games. You could have your jungler countergank.
Ward river brush, or along the river (Top-mid river), and the brush at the top of them map. I shall display it on this misc. map of Summoner;s Rift, the wards will be orange squiggles made in MS Paint. The ones in river will be yellow.

In a team fight, always focus the squishiest target. Look that the health, as well. Go in for the lowest person, then focus squishies. Renekton can shred right through people. What I recommend you do is use Slice and Dice to get into the fight, pop Dominus, and then Cull the Meek. If you do it right, you can hit all the enemy team with Cull the Meek. You could also Dice back through them, but it is not recommended. Also, remember you have a team, so don't try to 1 v 5. Have you team be able to help you, whether it be by healing, or assisting in kills. They're there to help, not hinder. And don't complain about KS-ing.
In skirmishes or 1 v 1s, try to be the initiator. Use the combo I recommended, E, W, Q. If they don't run, you just got a free kill... Unless they have crazy sustain... Trust me, you probably have them. Your Q will be the first skill to be off cooldown, so use it when you feel you could kill them. You don't want the enemy to run because they're at 32 HP, and you healed up a few hundred! It's a mistake I make all the time, and you can't catch up because you flash, then they flash. Try to conserve your skills for when you can kill your enemy with a W, Q, or an E, E. Whatever you choose.

#1: Don't try to be a tough guy in the first few minutes, I've seen an enemy do this, and I got a kill in the first two minutes of the game. Level 1 engages don't end that well.
#2: Don't try to solo 3 v 1 or more when the 3 opponents have full HP. If they're low, why not? But dying will only make your team mad, they will discourage you, and the game goes to pumpernickel bread.
#3: Don't beat yourself up when you die. I will say when I started Renekton, I didn't know how to play. He looked fun. i sucked as him, though; and hated myself for feeding so badly. Some champions just take a little time, that's all. Just keep your hopes up, and don't stop trying. F*** the po-lees, amirite?
