Not Updated For Current Season
This guide has not yet been updated for the current season. Please keep this in mind while reading. You can see the most recently updated guides on the browse guides page
Riven can't really perform her combo on you unless she starts already really close to you. Keep your distance, and if she starts using her Q, just harass her with your Q.
Fiora
If facing a Fiora, you must get ahead of her before level 6. Ask your jungler for a gank, and just harass her alot. You can out-damage her early game, just make sure you get a big advantage over her before she gets level 6, or else your in trouble.
Jax
If you can avoid his stun, you should be fine. Just try to not let him kill you or force you to back. Play passively and ask for ganks. Don't fight him early game unless you have a clear advantage.
Aatrox
His poke and sustain can be a bit much early game. Just play passively and wait for ganks.
Akali
Akali isn't a very big threat to you before level 6. Harass her as much as you can and try to kill her or force her to back.
Cho'Gath
As Darius, you rely on your abilities for damage more than your AA. His silence can take that away from you, and his knock up can punish you early. Avoid his Q, try your best to not get silenced, and stay away from him if your low on health and he has ult.
Dr. Mundo
Mundo doesn't usually have that much damage potential, so laning will be some-what easy. Just know he will be a bit hard to kill, so just farm until you have a clear advantage in a fight. Aslong as you don't get ganked to often or you can dodge cleavers during a gank, you should be fine.
Gangplank
The only problem with GP is his Q. If he is using it to farm mostly, harass him as normal. If he is using it to deny farm and poke you, just farm under turret and hope your jungler doesn't suck.
Garen
If this Garen is smart, he will max Q first against you. So you must be careful, Q him before he hits you and see if that makes him back off. If not, play passively, since his ult is easier to use correctly.
Gnar
Gnar can kite you all day with his Q. Make sure you avoid this, because once he lands his Q, he can put out lots of damage. Play very passively, farm under tower, and once again, ask for ganks.
Gragas
If you can avoid his Q, you should just absolutely destroy him.
Irelia
Unless you have a clear advantage, try to disengage if she goes in on you with her Q. Harass her and focus on farm.
Jarvan IV
He can't really out damage you at any point in the game. Just keep you river bush warded for ganks and he can't really do anything to you.
Kennen
Not to bad, just dodge his shuriken and be careful when you have 2 marks of the storm on you.
Lee Sin
Just dodge the Q and harass him.
Malphite
Malphite isn't really a damage dealer(unless its full AP Malphite), but he is pretty good at setting up ganks. So be careful if they have a jungler who deals high amounts of damage and isn't just another tank.(This includes Master Yi, Kha'Zix, Rengar, Rek'Sai, etc...)
Maokai
To actually do damage to you, he has to get pretty close to you, but that just means you can harass him. Avoid his root, watch out for his saplings, and keep river warded.
Mordekaiser
Yes, you can harass him, but he can also harass you, probably even harder than you can harass him. With 2 shields and really powerful poke, its best to just play REALLY passively, and only go in if your jungler is ganking.
Nasus
He isn't very strong unless he can stack his Q. Just make sure to harass him when he is about to Q to gain a stack, and try to make him think twice about going for the next minion.
Olaf
Olaf can do a lot of damage early game, and will most likely beat you in trades. Make sure to dodge his Q, keep your distance, and just farm when you can.
Pantheon
If he uses his abilities to poke you and constantly looking for a fight, he will run out of mana very quickly. If this happens, that is when you try to fight him.
Poppy
As long as you don't get pinned to a wall, or tower dived with her ult, you should be okay.
Rek'Sai
She will want to be in close-quarter-combat with you, and will probably win those trades. Stay under tower, ask for ganks, and keep your distance.
Renekton
He has alot of sustain and is really strong early game. Just harass him, keep your distance, and farm, and try to kill him when you get a gank, not just force him to back.
Rumble
Has a lot of poke, but has a weaker early game than you. Use this to your advantage, and try to fight him if he is over-heated.
Ryze
He is very good at keeping you away from him because of his snare, and once he snares you, he can do his combo which will hurt early game. Just freeze the lane, and try to kill him if you get a gank, or if he runs out of mana.
Shen
He probably can't kill you early if he is going standard Shen(A.K.A. tanky) unless you get ganked. In that case, watch out for his taunt. Other wise, try to bully him in lane.
Singed
He most likely won't deal very much damage, but he is very good at setting up ganks. If you have a 1v1 fight opportunity, fight him, and remember, don't chase him.
Teemo
Beat him up before he gets level 6. Just abuse him, harass, combo, ask for ganks. Just make sure you have a clear advantage over him by the time he reaches level 6.
Tryndamere
Against a Tryndamere, it is extremely important that you harass him as much as you can. Don't fight him if he engages, and make sure not to mess up and ult him while he is ulting.
Vladimir
His sustain and poke make him extremely annoying to face against, so just harass him any time you can.
Volibear
He can set up ganks and do damage. On top of that, he is really tanky. Just be careful and play smart.
Wukong
You actually sort of counter Wukong, because if he uses decoy and your passive is active on him, you can still see him(this might have changed, but last time I faced a Wukong, it worked). Just bully him in lane and you should be fine.
My name is BadCosplayLux, and this is my first MobaFire guide I have made. My in-game name is Woffles, and I am Silver V(I know what your thinking, and yes, if you try hard enough you can be as good as me). I'm not amazing at this game, but i'm not horrible. But if there is one champion I am actually good at, its Darius. Darius, in my opinion, is one of the best top-laners there is. Being a tanky damage dealer, he can dunk even the toughest of foes. So please, try this build out. I have used this build time and time again, and every time it works amazingly well.
Pros / Cons
Pros / Cons
Pros:
1. Strong early game
2. Very tanky
3. Still does alot of damage as tank
Cons:
1. Weak late game if doesn't get fed
2. Mana issues early game(if you don't manage it properly).
3. Can be screwed over by gank before level 6.
Laning
Laning
Darius is a great lane bully, and capable of turning a gank into a 2v1 fight under his tower and getting a double out of it if baited right. He is also very good at setting up ganks with his pull and slow. In lane, you want to try and harass your opponent as much as possible. Keep them away from your minions with your Q, but don't spam your Q, or you will run out of manna pretty quickly. You have a pretty good trade potential before level 6, and an even better fight potential level 6 and after. If you see a good opportunity to kill your laning opponent, use this combo: Q(try to hit them with blade), E, AA, W, AA, Q, and R.(Note, you will most likely start off slow, but if you get a good gank from your jungler and get a kill from it, you will continue to snowball).
Late Game
Late Game
Let me just start of by saying, you should not be one of the champs that just pushes a lane super hard. You will be with your team, and you will have a huge role in team fights. What you want to do is land a good Q, followed up with an E, and then just focus one of the squishies(such as the adc or mid laner) and kill them with your ult. MAKE SURE NOT TO ULT TO EARLY! You get another 20 seconds to use your ult if it kills a target. This will be useful if you, I don't know, want to kill the other squishies. Just sayin'.
