Introduction

Hello, this guide is a simple dummy's guide for anyone interested in playing mid. has been a long since underrated champion for mid, as most people prefer her jungle. I don't enjoy Evelynn jungle, simply because she doesn't really have great ganks until level six. Evelynn jungle is really meant to only counter jungle, and hopefully make it to team fights where she can be a monster. However at mid, you gain experience quicker and can roam much quicker than you could in the jungle, also catching some people off guard, since they'd probably expect a gank from the jungler instead, thus buying sights instead of pinks.

Pros and Cons

PROS:
  • Strong late game
  • Easy snowballing
  • Great roaming
  • Hard to gank
  • High burst
  • Low mana costs

CONS:

Summoner Spells

Flash is crucial on . She needs the escape.

Ignite is what I recommend on , simply because of the kill securing it grants. I haven't tried other options, however Barrier would be nice against high burst and Teleport if you know you'll need to get back to lane quick after roaming.

Farming

Farming with can be very tricky because of how much damage she can take from trying to farm. Autoattack when you can, and if you have to you can always Hate Spike for cs. You might not want to spam Hate Spike too much early game, because you will get mana issues. Get blue as soon as possible, and until then be relatively conservative with your Hate Spike usage.

Early Game

Early game, needs to be focused on getting to six without feeding her opponent too much. Try to keep farm up, and please, please, please, ROAM. Evelynn relies on roaming to win. If you don't spend almost as much time roaming as you do in lane, you aren't playing mid correctly. Evelynn's kit screams ganking, and although this isn't a jungler guide, you should feel like a second jungler during the early game. Your goal is to get fed, and really you wont be able to do that effectively if you only spend time in your own lane.

Mid Game

Mid game is where shines. Mid game, Evelynn should be focused on assassinating the enemy carries in fights. Ult in when your initiator initiates, then find the highest priority target and murder them. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat.

Late Game

will likely lose a little power late game due to resistances, but your magic penetration should deal with most of it. You should split push if needed/allowed, and help your support ward. Make sure to keep track of baron, if you are able to steal baron it would be a great victory for your team most of the time.

Ability Analysis

Hate Spike is your farming ability, poking ability, and main damage ability. Spam this late game, and always abuse when you have blue. Above, in the ability combos section, you will notice that Hate Spike appears often. When you aren't using an ability, you should use Hate Spike, assume this at any point in time the combos above don't fill in the amount of Hate Spikes you need at the moment.

Dark Frenzy is your escape and chase tool. Save it for when you need it, and I recommend saving this presix for ganks from the enemy jungler.

Ravage is a very handy damage tool, it deals surprising burst damage late game, which makes up for its upsetting short range.

Agony's Embrace is your initiation tool. Use it for kills while roaming, and use it in team fights to get the shield and to slow everyone for your team. In team fights, make sure to hit as many people as you can so that you can gain a huge shield.
