Introduction

Greetings Fellow Summoners. The time has come to add another meaningless Rengar build upon the countless others out there. But wait - hold on - there's more. This is not just any regular guide; this is a guide to become the King of the Jungle - the champion with the biggest **** in the Rift. In this guide you'll learn how to master the fierce warrior and to learn new strategies to boost your teammates to victory.

What you need to know about Rengar

Rengar at first glance may seem like a pretty easy champion to play - with the damage he deals as well as being broken, anyone can master him in no time... right?
Well you're WRONG. Although he does seem to be overpowered and even more after his rework in Patch 6.22, to actually use him skillfully and win is something challenging for everyone at the start. When first playing Rengar people generally make the assumption that because he is powerful he can one shot anyone anytime without dying, and make stupid mistakes. With Rengar what you need to know is that balance is key. Of course there will be opportunities for you to pounce on your prey and button smash and kill them almost instantaneously, but in most cases that does not happen and cannot happen in team fights or you will be the one getting destroyed.
Like any other champion when playing Rengar you must be able to calculate very well, especially because as a jungler he is a primary assassin (secondary fighter) and your allies rely on you to come in at the right time and finish off the enemy team.
You must have patience and have fast reflexes, watching the mini map constantly for enemies gone missing so you can hunt them down when they begin to grow a pair and roam around the map. Most importantly, know the sequences of your abilities and your combos and when to use them in what scenario. Lastly, the most important rule of all: NEVER BE SCARED. There is a difference of being scared and cautious. Don't be scared. You are Rengar. Rengar. RENGAR. YOU ARE RENGOD. The Pridestalker should NOT be scared of any other weak champion in the game. You are Rengar, so go out there whipping around your big **** like a helicopter and smack all the other b*tches around.

Runes

Main Path: Domination

Just like Thunderlord's Decree in Season 7, this is extremely useful for Rengar with his low CDR abilities and basic attacks as you want to deal as much additional damage as you can.
From here out you can take EITHER Cheap Shot OR Sudden Impact. Take CS if you know you can hit your bola strikes as Rengar as this will be extremely useful for you for additional true damage, or take SI if you are not too confident with your skillshots yet and want an extra burst from your bush leaps and your ult. The options from your third pathway can either be Zombie Ward, Ghost Poro, or Eyeball Collection. All of these are extremely useful, as you want to have maximum vision of your jungle and the enemy's. Not only does it grant you map awareness, but you will be able to put your passive to the max by hunting down the enemy one by one, like the true hunter you are. I personally prefer Ghost Poro, as it drops a small poro behind in the bush you were in so you can see if anyone is chasing you. For the last choice, I would highly recommend Ravenous Hunter as you are granted permanent healing from your abilities with each unique takedown. This is helpful as you are an assassin; extremely squishy and you have little opportunities to heal, so you want to find every way to maximize your life.

Secondary Path: Precision

This is an excellent choice as an assassin to take for your secondary path. People prefer to take one of the LEGEND paths - however, Overheal can also be extremely useful as your healing companions and your W can give you an extra shield to protect your squishy *** from being wrecked. I highly recommend taking Cut Down as well. Since you are an assassin (especially Rengar), you will have lower maximum health than a lot of the champions you will face.

Abilities and Skill Sequence

PASSIVE: Unseen Predator
Your passive is truly your best friend when it comes to playing Rengar. Each time you hide in a brush your next basic attack causes you to leap onto the target you choose. This is amazing because you can literally hide in brushes and then come out of nowhere and surprise butt rape them. People will think you're cheap but hey who are they to talk - you're the one killing them.
The second part of your passive is Ferocity, which replaces your mana bar. Your abilities build Ferocity and once reached max ferocity it can empower your next abilities to do additional damage or effects as well as granting you movement speed. However, your ferocity stacks has a timer so be careful that you do not lose them when you're about to engage an enemy or in team fights. Another thing you can use to your advantage is when Rengar's ferocity stacks are at 0 and you hide in a brush, when you leap onto a target it automatically grants you one stack of Ferocity (I will mention more about incorporating this into strategies later in the guide).
The third and last part of your passive is your Bonetooth Necklace. This grants you bonus permanent attack damage when you kill certain and unique champions.

Q: Savagery
Your Q is a skill-shot, not a auto-lock like the past oh no no no noooo. This allows you to show your capabilities of being an amazing jungler as you hit enemies left and right with this ability. When you use Savagery you slash all enemies in an arc before piercing them in a line. Your Ferocity effect causes increased damage. When casting this outside the max range it causes you to move forward a bit. Now you're probably thinking "why on earth did they change his Q to a skill-shot?" WELL MY FRIENDS compared to the previous Q this new ability allows AOE damage and also makes you look like a badass when you hit your Q.

W: Battle Roar
When casting this ability it makes your foes' spines tingle and shiver as they finally realize that you cannot be beaten no matter what. Your W lets out a roar, damaging enemies around you and healing for some of the recent damage you have taken. Your Ferocity effect breaks crowd control and grants immunity from them for a short time, as well as healing you a sh*t ton more than your regular W. Use this ability when being pinned down by enemies and you wish to escape or when taking heavy damage and you need to regain health.

E: Bola Strike
Now Rengar's E was the only ability to not have taken so much of a change form before the rework. Your E is fairly simple and straightforward to use. It's a skill-shot, throwing a bola in whichever direction you choose to throw slowing the first target hit for a short duration. Your Ferocity effect allows you to root the target, making them unable to move for a short duration of time. WARNING: Your E does not go through minions or jungle monsters, so when aiming for champions make sure you have a clear line of sight.

R: Thrill of the Hunt
Now the moment you've all been waiting for: it's finally time to describe the ultimate spell which grants Renger kill after kill. Your predatory instincts take over, camouflaging you and revealing the nearest enemy champion in a large radius around you. During Thrill of the Hunt, you gain movement speed and can leap to the tracked enemy for a guaranteed critical strike, even without being in brush. When you are camouflaged, you are unseen by enemies, but under tower range you are and if you get too close to them you are seen; just like Evelynn. Given this, see this ability as a gift from God and use it to your advantage by raping as many people as you can in the anus.

SKILL SEQUENCE:
Always always always always always always always max out your Q first. It is your primary attack and damaging skill used in fights, jungling, etc. Next you max out your W as it will be extremely useful for you if you are ever caught in a tough situation. However, some may choose to max the E out first if they feel like they got the hang of it now, as it helps when you hunt down your opponents.

Creeping / Jungling

Like any other AD jungler always start with the red buff. It is highly recommended that you get a leash from at least one fellow Summoner (Top Lane, ADC, Support). After you get red you wanna move onto either the Raptors or Kruggs next. Personally I like to go for the Kruggs first as the rewards are greater (more gold and more experience), as in early game you want to get the gold advantage against your enemy jungler. Afterwards you can cycle through your camps, and get the Rift Scuttler every now and then to aid your teammates and give them vision.
As a highly aggressive champion like Rengar you should invade the enemy jungle as frequently as you can. Take their buffs so they're behind you, as well as forcing them to go to your jungle or into lane for creep score. Use your high AD bursts and your Passive to your advantage by hiding around in brushes and leaping onto enemies in the jungle territory.

Strategy

Fighting:
It is crucial that when you fight an enemy you are sure you can kill them; if not do not engage because you don't want to give the enemy team free kills and damage. The new re-worked Rengar is primarily used as an assassin and as a fighter role as their secondary. When fighting enemies learn how to sustain by gaining your health back with your W and at times with the empowered W. A certain combo I like to use is when hiding in a brush you leap onto your target, causing you to do a basic attack damage as well as giving you 1 Ferocity stock. Immediately use your Q and aim towards your opponent; now you are at 2 stacks. Then use your W if you're surrounded by enemy minions, as this will regain a little bit of health you've lost from the minions attacking you as well as from the enemy. This now gives you 3 out of 4 stacks. From here on out you have two options: one is if you're still in a crowd of minions use your Q again and then an empowered Q, and that should finish off most enemies. The second is if your opponent is now fleeing and you are no longer surrounded by minions use your E t slow them and then another empowered E to root them. So again, basic combos are: Q-W-Q-Q FOR HEAVY DAMAGE / Q-W-E-E- WHEN CHASING / Q-W-E-W HEALING AND SUSTAINING / Q-W-E-Q CLASSIC COMBO

Team Fights:
When fighting along your teammates this is your biggest opportunity to finally show who has the biggest c*ck. In your fights you shouldn't engage first and wait for your off-tank or your tank members to go in first. You can then jump in and do basic combos and finish off the enemy. Target the heavy damage dealers first and take them as fast as you can. Without their damage dealers, the enemy will then disperse and run away like big p*ssies. Now it's time to use your Ult to chase down the remaining prey and destroy them. HOWEVER. If you stroll up to a team fight and notice the enemy is on low health, then you have my permission to jump in and slaughter them all.

Ganking:
Gank as much as you can, but not too much in early game. The minimum you should wait until is level 6 when you get your ultimate, that will make ganking easier and you won't be as squishy. Your basic strategy when you gank is to wait in a brush, and have your allies bait the enemy where you pounce upon them. Now, the thing about Rengar's Passive is there's a glith; when you're in a brush there is an area around you highlighted which is your range where you can leap upon targets. However, if a target is in your range but then begins to walk away, if you click on them and target the opponent you want to pounce on Rengar will follow out of a brush, and then pounce on the enemy. What does this mean? YOU HAVE MORE RANGE. So use this to your advantage when ganking.
Other than hiding around in brushes and being a pansy, you can always ult in and leap upon an enemy at the right time. Now your Ult's duration is quite long, 30 seconds to be exact. Additionally, when you're far away and someone requests assistance or needs help, you can use your ult from where you are since it grants movement speed. Once you get close enough, then you can leap on since you are camouflaged and nobody will expect the butt raping you are going to bring.
