Introduction

Hi everyone, Original_Pineapple here with my first build. I main top, usually as Fiora, Gangplank, or Nidalee. I will appreciate it if you rate fairly and leave constructive criticism about my guide, just don't be rude about it.

Runes

Lethal Tempo
Phase Rush

Greater Mark of Armor Penetration Greater Mark of Armor Penetration Armor penn. helps out a lot early on. very useful against opponents who start Cloth Armor.

Greater Seal of Armor The bonus armor will help out early game, specifically at level 1-6.

Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist This will help make up for the lack of scaling MR

Greater Quintessence of Life Steal A small, but useful amount of sustain. It will help you stay in lane longer.

Quintessence of Attack Damage I'd rather have this rune than a third Greater Quintessence of Life Steal rune because what good is life steal without damage.

Items

Boots

Berserker's Greaves Mercury's Treads Ninja Tabi are all great boots. I recommend If doing good or 'OK,' and or if behind.
`
`

Wards

Stealth Ward Vision Ward As with any champion, DON'T FORGET TO WARD!
`
`

Trinkets

Sweeping Lens Stealth Ward Both are good trinkets. can be used to clear wards/traps to allow your jungler to gank, while is great for preventing their jungler from ganking without wasting your gold.

Basic Build

Nice attack speed to use Ravenous Hydra's passive more often.

Health regeneration and life steal helps sustain yourself in lane. Its active and passive effect are very nice for quickly clearing wave, and ehe bonus attack damage increases your damage output. This is a must-get for Fiora.

Very nice sustain against an AP team/lane. If the team doesn't have very much AP, or you dont need MR, grab another defensive item. Randuin's Omen works great.

Useful against enemies with armor, whether a little or a lot. You should get this item right as they start building armor, and try to get the The Brutalizer early on.

Crit. and attack speed is very nice on Fiora with her Burst of Speed and Ravenous Hydra.

A very common yet effective defensive item. Grants defense against both types of damage, allowing you to survive longer, and when you die, you don't really die. A wonderful sustain item.

I take Burst of Speed first because "60% attack speed increase" is great for "level 1 wars."

Maxing Lunge first is great for its majorly reduced cool down, but doesn't pack an aweful lot of damage. I still recommend Lunge to be maxed out first, though, as at level 5 you can spam it, and is great for chasing or engaging.

Maxing Burst of Speed is also another option. Its high attack speed and movement speed buff works wonderfully for chasing and bursting down opponents. I don't recommend to max this, however, because lunge is even better for chasing, and a lot of Fiora's damage depends on Blade Waltz, except in a 1v1.

Still, its up to your personal preferences on what to max first.

And, as with any other champion, level up your Ultimate at levels 6,11,16.

Skills (Mechanics)

Duelist will greatly increase your lane sustain and provides as a "secondary life steal" affect.

Use Lunge to jump to a nearby minion if being chased. To chase, jump to a minion, then a champion (if champion out of range).

In a 1v1, pay attention to abilities that boost the next basic attack (like Garen's Decisive Strike). Right when you see your opponent use one of those abilities, cast Riposte. Remember, Riposte will also block any On-Hit-Effect Spells, like Gangplank's Parrrley. Use this to your advantage. In a team fight, its nearly impossible to tell if someone uses one of those spells, so i just recommend casting it whenever it's up.

This spell is great for poking in lane, as you can Lunge to the champion, do high damage within its duration, then Lunge back to a minion. Burst of Speed is also a good way to keep up with faster champions, like Teemo, while Lunge is on cool down.

Engaging a team fight with Blade Waltz is great because (usually) the enemy team will focus you, but once you become invincible, focus the nearest allied champion. Basically is messes up their focus, and it applies On-Hit-Effects, so Ravenous Hydra can burst down an enemy team quickly. I would recommend Ulting their carry, if possible, as you land on the last champion you hit, making it a great way to burst down a sneaky Ezreal.

Farming

Use Ravenous Hydra to farm minion waves quickly. In early game, avoid poking and focus on farming. This way you should have a decent amount of items by mid-game, and won't fall behind.

Summary

I would only recommend Fiora if you're on a team with a lot of CC, but other than that Fiora is a great champion who can quickly deal massive amounts of area damage. Remember to use actives.
