LoL Summoner Spell: Flash

LoL Summoner Spell: Ignite

Hi, this is my first build on Mobafire for gragas hope you enjoy XD. Iv'e been playing Gragas for a while now and I noticed that there were no tank builds for him just ap so I decided to make a build that give him ap but with even more survivability and a ton of hp.

The foothills of the Great Barrier are home to the hardiest people found anywhere on Valoran. Only those with great fortitude and endurance dwell in what is perhaps the most rugged and unforgiving environment anywhere on the face of Runeterra. It is here that the mighty Gragas keeps permanent residence, living south of Noxus. This behemoth of a man has long eschewed the rigors of civilization for what he calls his ''slice of paradise;'' he has no neighbors to bother him and plenty of space to pursue his life's ambition - brewing. Grogs, ales, meads, and wine - nothing is beyond his skill to brew. What makes Gragas a truly special brewmaster, however, is his proximity to a large and powerful nexus.

The magic of this nexus has seeped into his fermented creations, and Gragas has consumed enough of his own poison over the years to slake the thirst of an army. This arcane alcohol has caused Gragas to swell both in height and girth; he looms over the tallest of men and boasts nearly twice their width. To complement his immoderate size, Gragas has developed an ornery temper - one fueled by liquor and raw magic. His infrequent sojourns into Noxus for supplies always unfold the same way: Gragas enters a Noxian tavern, Gragas gets into several fights, Gragas lays out countless citizens, and finally Gragas flees for the foothills with Noxian constables in hot - though reluctant - pursuit. His misadventures have garnered him the attention of several summoners in the League of Legends, and he is now a willing champion in the arenas...doling out hard liquor and harder fists.

The Rabble Rouser leaves a path of drunken destruction in his wake, both in the Fields of Justice and off.

Play Style

Early Game: You need to focus on farming and harassing early game, try to last hit minions as much as possible. At level 4 you should start doing some real damage to the enemies, use Drunken Rage harass with Barrel Roll then run in with Body Slam its very effective and if laning with and champ with a high dps can score easy kills/assists. as soon as you hit lvl 6 you should start getting some kills with Explosive Cask.

Mid Game: By this point you should have Rod of Ages and half of Warmog's Armor or the whole thing if your doing well. Continue to farm creeps with Barrel Roll and kill tower huggers with Explosive Cask and rack up the assists.

Late game: By late game you should have most of your items and have a ton of health. Stick with your team and do what you've done all game harass and kill.

Summoner Spells

Flash is just the most useful spell in the game. Most people say that Gragas doesn't need it because of body slam but flash has saved my life countless times.

Ignite A great spell for Gragas early game, will help land kills very easily and is good for when your barrel roll takes then to 1 hp and you've ignited them.

Exhaust GhostAlso good summoner spells, just depends on how you play.

Rune choice is completely up to you and how you want to play Gragas. I've gone with pretty standard runes but change is acceptable.
Greater Quintessence of HealthGreat for almost every character, will help a lot

Greater Mark of Magic Penetration Gragas' main source of damage is magic so I'd recommend these over armour pen

Greater Seal of Replenishment These are great for harassing early game, the only reason I chose these over Mana regen per level is Gragas really need these at lvl 1 and items give him plenty of mana regen later on.

Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power These will give Gragas a little boost to ap early and late game, just generally good.

Masteries for Gragas go either way, 0.21.9 or 9.0.21. You can have defensive masteries or Utility, it really doesn't matter. I prefer utility for the cool down reduction, exp gain and extra move speed, but defensive masteries offer a lot as well.

Skill Sequence

Happy Hour - On ability use, Gragas takes a drink restoring 2% of his max health over 4 seconds. This is a great passive, it allows you to stay in the lane longer and out harass your opponent

Barrel Roll - Gragas rolls his cask to a location, which can be activated to explode or will explode on its own after 5 seconds. Enemies struck by the blast have their attack speed lowered.
Gragas rolls his cask to a location, which can be activated again to explode or will explode on its own after 5 seconds, dealing 85/135/185/235/285 (+0.9) magic damage and applying a 20/25/30/35/40% attack speed debuff for 3 seconds. This is your main harassing ability. You should use this to last hit minions and champs at the same time. If you try to harass a champ with this throw the barrel behind them, because they will usually run backwards into it.
80/90/100/110/120 Mana

Drunken Rage - Gragas guzzles down brew from his cask for 1 second, restoring his mana. After finishing, he becomes drunkenly empowered, increasing his damage dealt and reducing damage received.
Gragas guzzles down brew from his cask, channeling for 1 second. He gains 30/45/60/75/90 mana while channeling, and becomes empowered after finishing, increasing physical attack damage by 30/40/50/60/70, and reducing damage taken by 10/12/14/16/18% for 20 seconds. This ability is great for staying in the lane as long as possible. You should use this ability as much as possible, as soon as it's available you should activate it because it costs no mana, gives you mana and damage reduction.
No cost

Body Slam - Gragas charges to a location and collides with the first enemy unit he comes across, dealing damage to all nearby enemy units and slowing their movement. Damage is split among units hit.
Gragas charges forward, colliding with the first enemy unit he hits, dealing 80/120/160/200/240 (+) (+0.5) magic damage to enemies in the area. Damage is split among targets hit. Units hit by Body Slam are slowed by 35% for 2.5 seconds. This is a great escape, chase and harass skill. First of all it can be used to go through thin walls which is very handy for escaping from enemies. It is on a very low cooldown so it can be used as a mini flash like Vayne's Tumble. It also can be used to chase because it slows your enemy on hit and can help your team in team fights a lot.
50/55/60/65/70 Mana

Explosive Cask - Gragas hurls his cask to a location, which explodes on impact, dealing damage and knocking back enemies caught in the blast radius.
Gragas throws his cask to an area. Upon landing, it deals 200/325/450 (+1) magic damage to all units struck, knocking them back. This is a great ult and can be used for many things. First of all it has a lot of damage so it can be used to nuke your enemies. Next it blows enemies away for where the cask landed, this is very useful it can be used to blow enemies into your turret which can do heavy damage. It can also be used to blow away turret huggers and escaping enemies into your team which will give an easy kill(s).
100/125/150 Mana

Pretty straight forward, just level your Barrel Rollfirst but get a point in Body Slam and Drunken Rage first. Afterwards level up Body Slamthen Drunken Rage.

You can level up Body Slam first but I prefer getting Barrel Roll because its better for farming and harassing without taking damage.

I don't recommend getting Drunken Rage first but it has it's benefits.

Doran's Shield: A great starter tanking item, good health regen, health and the armour is nice
Alternates you could get a Ruby Crystal or a Regrowth Pendant, good items which will go into later items.

Catalyst the protector Great hp and mana just a great item and will go into rod of ages
Alternates: Pretty much none seeing as Rod of Ages is an indispensable item for Gragas

Mercury's Treads Great boot useful for getting out of stun and all the other **** that can get you killed.
Alternates: Ninja Tabi and Sorcerer's Shoes are somewhat useful but are only useful in specific circumstances

Rod of Ages: As said before best item for Gragas
Alternates: None

Warmog's Armor A great item tons of hp, tons of hp regen great for Gragas.
Alternates: Not many can give Gragas a big boost like this but Zhonya's Hourglass is useful or other hp and armour giving items will suit him well.

Force of Nature Helps Gragas with his low magic resist and give a ton more health regen.
Alternates: Sunfire Aegis would do well but you would need to buy something with a lot of magic resist such as Banshee's Veil.

Randuin's Omen Will give you a lot just an all round great tanking item and will provide a lot
Alternates: Not much can replace Randiun's but Guardian Angel will do a lot of good if you find yourself getting killed by a slight amount.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter: The last item is up to you but I pick Rylais because it gives health ap and is a great item.
Alternates: Zhonya's Hourglass, again is great giving ap and armour, very useful if you want more survival.

Situational Items

Physical damage team:
Thornmail Great for defusing their damage
Sunfire Aegis Great for dealing damage and will help you health

Ap Team:
Abyssal Mask Great for Magic resist and will give you an ap boost
Banshee's Veil Will defuse their nuke and spells and will give a nifty hp and mana boost
Spirit Visage Only get this if you are struggling for money. It's decent but you'll want to sell it later

To summarise, this build will make Gragas unstoppable and have so much survivability. Please leave a comment on how to improve my build and please don't down vote without comment on how I could improve my build. Thanks for reading.
