Hello, I'm a high elo kassadin onetrick, and I had a lot of people ask me about the champion, builds etc., so I decided to write a guide about him.
I've been playing kassadin for over 1,5 years and I hit challenger 689LP playing him.

Teleport is really flexible, you can take this almost every game. It's good for surviving lane, split pushing, making tp plays.


Ignite is for matchups where you feel like you have a lot of kill pressure and want to snowball.

See the Notes section for each different rune setup :)

For starting item your best choice is dorans ring + 2 pot.
In harder matchups you can go Dorans shield.

First back: You're trying to get a blasting wand and a dark seal OR a catalyst depending on matchup.

First item is Rod of Ages, followed by Archangel's Staff. You should get boots(Look notes) by now.
After these you have plenty of choices. If your darkseal reached 10 stacks you can upgrade it to Mejai's Soulstealer. Usually the best item will be Lich bane or Zhonya's. After these you can choose from the item options section.

Elixirs
A lot of the times Elixir of Iron provides the bonus health/Tenacity you need, which can be game changing! Usually you won't need the damage from Elixir of sorcery anyways.
Though if you're behind, getting 50 extra AP for just 500 gold is insanely nice, so if you're going to fight for an important objective and you need that bonus damage, then get elixir of sorcery

Kassadin's earlygame is one of the weakest in the game. Your usual goal is to just survive until level 6.
For this, you usually want to keep the wave closer to your tower so you are harder to gank. Your goal is reaching level 6 and buying rod of ages. There are matchups where you struggle to survive and ones where you can get free kills and have almost full control.
The ideal first back is on 1200 gold, where you can get a Dark seal and a Blasting wand. With these items you can almost always win 1v1 against the enemy midlaner, you can waveclear easily with E and R. You shouldn't really buy control wards early as you cannot defend them and you're delaying your scaling.
Play around your jungler! If you set up a good freeze your lane becomes easy to gank, so pay attention.

As soon as the first turret fell on botlane they will start rotating to mid or top. Your goal is to get to a sidelane and start getting farm and pressuring from there. You also want to stack your Tear as soon as you can. If you have a lot of stacks on dark seal you can upgrade it to mejais.
Your main objective is hitting lvl16 so take the resources you need to make it happen.
Try to stay alone so you don't share experience with anyone.

You still want to keep pressuring sidelanes, but it's okay to group if you're stronger 5v5 than your opponents. Always look for picks, you're an insane damage AP assassin, you shouldn't have trouble deleting ADCs, supports or squshy champs in general. If you have tp go the further lane from the objective and if they send someone to stop your push you can just tp and get the free baron/dragon.

When doing combos you have to think about a few things.
1- Your W is an auto attack reset. Always aa-W for more dmg if you can.
2- Your Q blocks magic damage. Try to use it either first or last.
3- Your E slows and has a smaller range than your Q. So always use E first then Q
4- Your ult does more damage the more stacks you have on it. 800 mana ults can be super deadly even early on.

So that said the basic burst combos can be like
Q-R-aa-W-E You start with Q then ult in to melee range, aa-W using AA reset and then E to finish it off
If you don't have as much window to start with Q you can go
R-aa-W-E-Q
This one is usually better, but you spend more time close to the target which can lead to taking more damage.

You can also R-Flash to close huge distances
R-W to oneshot ADCs lategame
E-Q to trade while laning
W-E-Q to proc electrocute while laning
etc.

-Good roaming potential
-Good counter for AP champs

-Insanely low base armor
-Mana hungry
-Very weak laning
-Needs time to scale
-Has hard counters->blindpicking him can bring sad results
