How to Vayne @ Dominion

Introduction


Hello there to everyone who is brave enough to read my guide which will hopefully help you understand why Vayne is one of the "OP" heros in dominion.

Before we go any further to the guide i must say: i play Vayne as a taker @ jungle.

Ive seen players playing Vayne as a capturer as well, which i see useless as Vayne because you can do so much more and you cant capture that well what other heros can (that 1,5 sec stealth doesnt save you).

I have alot of parts in guide, and i will explain from items to runes and masteries why i will chose these instead of that.

In rune part there is flaw because i dont have every single rune on the game so these might not be best, probably this build/guide might not even be best - but this is how i play vayne at dominion and ive been extremely succesful.

Part 0. Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons



P&C as a Takerer



Pros:
  • Burst damage
  • Stun
  • Damage is so high you cant ignore it
  • Mobile
  • Good at kiting
  • Pain for squishys
Cons:
  • Requires good position for Codemn
  • No poking ability at taking points, needs initiator always with him
  • Squishy

VS. P&C as a Capturer



Pros:
  • Some what mobile with tumble
  • Can sometimes escape with Codemn
  • Has minor escape ability (Stealth)
Cons:
  • When builded as capturer cant really 1v1 anyone
  • Not that big base movement speed (305)
  • Gets caught way too easy
  • Any other capture hero will be better

Conclusion:

Dont play Vayne as capturer

Part 1. Builds/Items

Items i always buy when game starts: & , Dagger because you will need it for .

Why Sword of divinity?



Sword of divinity is atm FOTM item at dominion as Vayne, every 2nd game there is jax or garen or someone else that stacks abit dodge. Also early 30 active armor pene is really good!

Building order in this build can be changed, maincore is still Greaves & Sword of divinity.

EARLY GAME GOALS:

"WHY LIGHTBRINGER AS MIDGAME CORE?"



Imma tell you: it reveals for 5 second enemy when you shoot at them, because of Vayne being overpowered at jungle with condemn nukes/ganks you find yourself condeming enemies into bushes more than 1 time in a game, this is why its extremly important to have lightbringer with you. It also counters any stealth hero which are in favor at Dominion atm. And Most of the time ppl try to go bushes to juke you away from their tail, not anymore.

Entropy



Attackdamage, Slow for kitin, True damage. Explain why not?

MIDGAME GOALS:

This build requires you to have good ingame eye to inspect position for yourself so you can have much as possible autoattacks to proc Silver Bolts and your Sword of the diviny.

Item places can be changed, its all situational and im not always even going all of the items, early game core is only one that i have 100%.

Sometimes i go Last Whisper over The Lightbringer because of heavy armor stacking.

Lifesteal is not going to save you, that why im not going sanguine first, my build is to kill someone fast not tank someone to death.

That pretty much explained why i choose these items.

Conclusion



Question why i dont have lifesteal on any of the builds: i use healthpacks -> end game its worth of something due high dmg by nature and Sanguine Blade is good overall not just lifesteal.

As i told you in instruction, these runes might not be the best one.

I dont have every single rune in game.

But these are what i use and what works for me!

9x Armor Pen Marks
9x Attackspeed Seal
9x Attackspeed Glyph
1x Armor Pen Quint
2x Movement Speed Quint

You need armorpen for damage, attackspeed for mobility and damage and movement speed for mobility & to survive.

Part 4. Skill Sequences

I have 2 builds about the building skills, it really depens but lately ive found BUILD2 better.

Before i say anything about priority i want to make clear why both builds max E( Condemn) as first.

Condemn is your main ganking ability in jungle, capture points and anywhere on the map (you want to avoid being at open areas) This is also why some of you might fail with this build.

IT REALLY DEPENS DO YOU HIT WITH IT: SO THEY WILL GET COLLAPSED INTO WALLS AT TEAMFIGHTS OR NOT. Succeed with this = Profit.

Also Level 9 with ulti you can make Raw 600 damage with wall collapsing enemy, people have like 1300 health at dominion in this level, count there yourself. (just if you cant count you will take enemies health just with Condemn almost to half)

From other Vayne's Mouth: "But i build purely for autoattack build i dont need codemn for that, i max tumble first." <- Even this build is "Autoattack build", fact is that you wont do with 2 tumbles instead of 1 stuncombo codemn as much dmg -> you are too squishy to tumbling around in 1v1 situations (or 2v1 - doable). That stun codemn combo is so dangerous ppl will start are scared to jump on you when you are next to the wall because they know they will get stunned and after 2-3 autoattacks they are dead or close to death.

- R ( Final Hour)
- E ( Condemn)
- Q ( Tumble)
- W ( Silver Bolts)
Ability Sequence

I use this build now days much less, because with Silver Bolts build you do more damage, tumble is more mobility but you just have to use it more preciscly - not spam.

Well, Silver Bolts benefits from attack speed and when you are going raw 2.0 AS you want Silver Bolts instead of Tumble.

Part 5. Summoner Spells

Obvious reasons: Exhaust, you dont need ignite to do damage you have alot more than ignite has to offer with exhaust and proper position.

You can replace this with flash if you find exhaust ******ed - imo its best due so much burst heros.

This can also change tides of the teamfight. Ignite is good vs Lifestealh & Armor stacking, but you want to either team up with some Ap to bring them down with good stun or just avoid them - Thats life.

Ghost: "but flash is op @ Summoner rift" -> Cooldown in Ghost is so much less that i cant see any reason to take flash compairing to this. Lets say flash can save you from situation, but you still left at low health so you need to recall back and run with your slow *** movement speed back to the capture point. Okay there is times this is BETTER. But most of the time you have more Ghost than Flashes and you can get back to places / Backdoor points much more with Ghost. So for Vayne, Ghost is better, dont care what you think -> this is my opinion.

Part 6. How to play

How to play



Finally! To the most interesting part, how to play.

Before we go anything to playing i introduce you what i mean with different named points:
Top Point (well, the top point - "neutral" one)
Base Top point (Either is your team top base or enemies one)
Base Bottom point (Bottom point, everyone understands this - either enemies or yours)

Basically how i play Vayne is backdoor Top point / Enemy Base Top capture point taker. Now many of you might think "You never defend?" Well yes i do.

As Vayne if everything goes right you should almost never go down to defend, you have 3 top points to hold up!

Main defense point of Vayne is between Enemies Base Top / Top Point at their Moment speed point OR behind capture point OR killing creeps to push it with minions -> run away forest and kill. (BAIT)

Also when you are ambushing from the bushes of movement speed buff you want to make sure you have that buff before initiating, expect if you know its a sure kill.

Most tanky heros i just take away with codemn stun and proc to 60% health and then i run around -> condemn back up and then go for kill.

You will be able to dish out ppl into wall from bush and most of them to take down, they will want you down, they will start fearing their own moment speed buff aswell. Which gives you MORE TIME to defend with your teammates at the Top Point for their possible attacks.

Also when enemies rush into Top Point (not early game/first pick) you have opportunity either Cap their Base Top or Base Bottom, if they are left unguard which they are if 4 enemies are at top.

Basically you can COUNTER CAP Top point by picking up their Base Top Capture point.
Why? -> Creeps, this is where creeps does wonder. Creeps at both sides attacking into the Top Point will give you ahead for caping it. Of course you need to spend seconds to clear atleast one wave so you get pushing going on but that is not a problem usually.

Counter caping doesnt work if you have no single defenders at the Top point at that time when you start caping their Base Top point.

I try to avoid clear areas (middle) and stay close to the walls because of alot of gap closer champions: Akali dishes to you, you instatly away from wall to him into the wall. This ofc can be fatal vs Poppy but please, use your own brains and you have profit :).

How i defend Capture points?

There is secret place behind the capture point where you have that health pack, i usually try to stay there and come with tumble condemn combo to interupt enemy. This works wonders and if they try to come close at you, use line of sighting(FOG).
Line of sight kiting is really effective at dominion and to make that effect even better you can use condemn to have free space to kite.

You also might wanna consider Vayne as a good pick when you have someone in your team playing Kayle (Dat 3 second free nuke) or Alistar (proper headbutts next to the walls -> CONDEMN!)

Or basically some kind of initiator: you never want to be first to go into capture point fight, and you dont have any poke in this situation: this is only con Vayne has.

So as Summary how to play: "i play Vayne as jungler."
