Introduction
This is my first guide, and I urge you to read it all of the way through (and try it!) before voting. I'm going to do my best to make this as in-depth as possible. I'm also always open to suggestion and trying new things. If you have some tweaks for the guide, please let me know!
As everyone knows, Leona is a new Tank Champion. While her description makes it seem that she is a more AD based champ, I beg to differ! I tried out this build on a whim last night, and 4 games in a row, the opposing team surrendered between 20 and 30 minutes.
Leona is a great initiator, and if built correctly, does some pretty nice damage on top of it. A tank who is able to take a hefty beating and deal out some pain in the process...what more could you ask for?
Here is where things get a bit interesting.
-I start with a and 2 .
-I then build up to my Catalyst the Protector
-Next I pick up the
-Then I finish before getting my
-From there, the choice is up to you how you build the rest. Here is my build, but it is dependant on who you're facing.

I oringally wrote this guide using 2 but have recently switch out the second for a Rylai's Crystel Scepter. This gives the health that a tank needs, while also scaling your AP, which will help in team fights. With the Rylai's this also adds in more HP and a great slow that will hit everyone when you use your Ult or Eclipse.
People don't expect the tank to unleash a lot of damage. While it won't make you overly OP or anything, the damage boost is really nice. With the and the you should be over 3k HP, and not done with your build yet. Add in the other items and you should be well over 4k when all is said and done. The if you have room for it will really just add icing to the cake.

I skill up in the following fashion (and once Leona is added to Mobafire, I'll have it updated visually):
Q, W, E, W, W, R, W, E, W, E, R, E, E, Q, Q, R, Q, Q.
The reason for this is to start with your Shield of Daybreak for the stun, but this is not your major damage dealer. This is good for early game ganking or escape if needed. Then I do my best to max out the Eclipse first. Eclipse not only does a decent amount of damage, but also is a shield that temporarily raises your Magic Resist and Armor. I also throw that one point into Zenith Blade early for situations that call for it. Of course, make sure to get a point in Solar Flare whenever you are able.
Main initiation combo is to hit Eclipse, Jump in with Zenith Blade, Hit your Shield of Daybreak, and Ult if needed. If it's a team fight, you can actually stun the entire team if they are stacked and your Solar Flare is placed correctly.

As with any Tank, having a good team to back you up is important. Leona is a great initiator, but without the help of her team, she's dead in the water if she jumps into too many other players.
For team fights, I hit Eclipse, initiate with Zenith Blade, and stun the nearest champion with Shield of Daybreak. Once most of them are closing in, I throw down Solar Flare, which will usually stun 2-3 of them and slow the rest. This gives my team a chance to single target the DPS or AoE the **** out of the crowd.
Also, if the other team has a channeler such as Fiddle or Malz, or an ult like Katarina's, Leona's Shield of Daybreak can stop them in their tracks. It was fun messing with a Katarina last night.

To me, Leona is a nice well rounded Tank. Throw in a little AP and she can really give the other team a run for their money. She does not have quite the survivability of a good Mordekaiser, but she's definitely close.
Don't go into a game expecting a ton of kills or you will be disappointed. But if you're OK with a huge amount of assist, and enjoy playing the Meat Shield, then Leona is for you.
