Introduction

Welcome to my Lux guide. We will focus on maxing CDR as well on Ability Power, getting Rod of Ages to pump the surviability. I don't like to see Lux as a nuker. Sure she can do it, but I like to see Lux as a support with decent damage. The slow and bind will devastate your enemies with the help of your team, so having those spells often is a great idea. She is like a support/mage. Won't get pure support items (like auras), but CDR.

WARNING: Be prepared: Lux is a PURE SKILLSHOT CHAMPION! If you aren't good at them, then you should practice a bit before playing Lux. You can practice with:

Thundering Shuriken
Bandage Toss
Mystic Shot
Piltover Peacemaker
Missile Barrage

Runes

: Pretty much needed. Magic Penetration means more damage.
: Mana regeneration is useful. You won't have Clarity up all the time (or you can even skip clarity). These seals help a lot.
: CDR. We want it maxed.
: See Greater Mark of Insight.

Masteries

Standard mage masteries. 9/0/21
Not too much to say here, pretty obvious. Don't take Clarity mastery if you don't like clarity.

Summoner Spells

: All-round spell. I believe Ghost is better than Flash on Lux because you can just Bind the chaser and run to safety. Also, you have an insane range. You won't be dying a lot unless you overextend or your tank can't protect you.

: Personally, I love spamming spells early game. Clarity lets you spam forever.

Want to swap a spell?
- Flash: If you like flash, yeah just take it.
- Ignite: I don't feel it necessary, but if you want more early kills... it's up to you.
- Clairvoyance: To snipe with your lazor. Or steal Baron. Dragon. Or just to scout :)

Abilities

(passive): Lux's damaging spells charge the target with energy for 6 seconds. Lux's next attack ignites the energy, dealing 10 + (10 x level) magic damage to the target.
Not a godlike passive, but it isn't useless. Awesome for farming and some extra hits for early kills.

: Lux releases a sphere of light that immobilizes and deals damage to up to 2 enemy units for 2 seconds, dealing 50% effect to the 2nd unit struck.
If you catch someone with this, he is pretty much dead. Work with teammates for maximum efectiveness. You can nuke too, particulary squishys.

:Lux throws her wand to a target location and back, bending the light around herself and any friendly champions it touches, protecting them from damage for 3 seconds.
A low power shield. But the fact that you can shield your whole team with amazing range, then it becomes a nice skill. Also you can save teammates from dying early from ignites >.<

: Fires an anomaly of twisted light to an area, which slows nearby enemies. Zone lasts 5 seconds. Lux can detonate it to damage enemies in the area of effect
Your main farming skill. Use it for scouting, slow, damage, making enemies go where you want... whatever you want! Has a nice AoE and damage. Beware from its mana cost early game.

Finales Funkeln: After gathering energy, Lux fires a beam of light that deals damage to all targets in the area. In addition, triggers Lux's innate ability and refreshes the Illumination debuff duration.
Your ZOMG GIANT LAZOR skill. This is why you bought Lux. Awesome range and damage, and the ability to HIT THE WHOLE ENEMY TEAM! Needs aiming, but if you land it correctly, you may even kill their carry from a safe range! With full CDR, spam it. Spam spam spam and spam it.

Skill Sequence?
Finales Funkeln> > OR
Want more damage? Level Light Binding
More support? Level Prismatic Barrier
It's up to you.

Items/Playstyle

Early game
Grab your Sapphire Crystal and a health potion and go Mid or Side Lane.
If you want to go mid, I recommend getting Clarity. Lets you farm like crazy without any mana issues. Use your E to farm and harass. Hit the Illuminated minions to kill them fast.
Depending on your enemy, go for the kill at level six. Use the combo of:
->Throw a ->autoattack->Detonate the ->Finales Funkeln->autoattack.
This combo hits hard! Illumination does decent damage at this level. If he isn't dead, chase him or throw a Ignite if you took the spell.
First trip back, get your Catalyst the protector and Boots.

Mid game
Lux is a good ganker. If you know how to aim your Light Binding, then go for kills on other lanes. If you are succesful, push the turrets!
Not much to say, mid game. If you are going fine, get a Mejai's Soulstealer. It's cheap and boosts your AP. Finish your Rod of Ages.

Double Rainbow! (Late game)
Now the real thing starts.
Now you should have the 40% CDR, and let Blue Buff to anyone who needs it more.
Teamfights are now an extremely important factor. NEVER initiate with Lux. You will get killed. If you can, throw a Finales Funkeln if the teamfight isn´t starting, as it will be back very quickly.
Teamfight started? Throw a Light Binding and try to catch the squishy. You got it? NICE! Now throw your Lucent Singularity. About your Illumination, don't proc it. You will get in a dangerous position. With your range, stay far away! Detonate the Lucent Singularity and LAZOR them! It will kill their squishy, as your Finales Funkeln will just pass through the whole enemy team! If they are fleeing, snipe them or slow. You have a lot of options! If you are running (D:!), Light Binding will help you to escape.
Complete your build with a Rabadon's Deathcap and a Void Staff to hit hard as hell, almost ignoring MR.

Optional Items
Don't like an item? Like "Hey, I don't like Morello's Tome. I think that an Elixir will complete the CDR!" Well, here you have some options.

- Zhonya's Hourglass: Beast active. Can save your life!
- Archangel's Staff: Moar mana and AP. Remember to buy a Tear early!
- Haunting Guise: The health is very useful. Sadly it can't evolve in anything.
- Abyssal Mask: Good passive and Magic Resistance.
- Morello's Evil Tome: Good and cheap.

Items I don't like:

- Rylai's Crystal Scepter: Hourglass is much better. Don't pay for a slow that you don't need!
- Deathfire Grasp: No. You will get overextended trying to throw the active.
- Nashor's Tooth Malady: You don't need AS.

EXTRA: If you don't like Clarity, choose other summoner spell and buy a Tear of the Goddess ASAP! Lux is a spammy champion and you need mana!

The CDR

CDR is an extremely important factor for Lux. With the Ionian Boots and Blue Elixir you can easily get around 35%-40% CDR.
If you do not want to buy Ionian (I Want Sorcerer D:!), get Morello's Evil Tome and a Blue Elixir. Its the same.
Leave the Blue Buff to someone who needs it more. We have Clarity!

Summary

That's all. Hope you liked this build. At least for me it gives greats results. I bet it will work for you too!

Soon I will post some photos.
