Hello all you Yi junglers!
BEFORE YOU START READING please just listen to this so you can get the hyped up! :D
I main Yi (yes i main a 'noob champ') but Yi can turn out to be very hard to play at times which is why i made this guide.Anyway Master Yi is my main because i love his qoutes and alpha strike ability and for 4 years (and in those 4years ive played with constant 270+ms :< ) i've mained Yi and always wanted to make a build about him but was ermmmm kinda lazy xD , BUT NOT TODAY! So Feast your eyes on this (hopefully) AWESOME BUILD!

OK OK I know tanky yi is dead , but since 6.10 tanky yi has come back to life a bit and due to his Wuju Style dealing 50 true damage on hit (if maxed). So Anyway we start with Hunter's Machete and Refillable Potion because of the extra on hit damage and the gold efficiency from Refillable Potion . We rush Blood razor on red smite because of the true damage from Skirmisher's Sabre and Ignite which makes dueling super easy! We then rush Frozen Mallet after finishing our jungle item because yi has 0 cc and rely s on red buff to gank but with Frozen Mallet we can make you not only gank more easily but give him some beef and some damage. After Frozen Mallet i usually buy Ninja Tabi if i am too slow and squishy or Blade of the Ruined Kingif i just need more dps . Dead Man's Plate can replace your boots but i reccomend keeping them unless you need more dps or defense. Guinsoo's Rageblade is maybe the 4th or 5th item on yi but definitely a must have just because of its extra on hit effect it provides but never ever rush it early because you will find yourself ganking lanes and only being able to land a few hits since you have 0 cc.

Master Yi is a fun champion to play but at the same time can be extremely hard to play since getting any form of cc except slows can guarantee you dead which is why you need to master using your Alpha Strike at the right times to dodge any thing coming your way including ttower shots.Something most Yi's don't know is that if you're about to double strike, the second hit on double strike can be applied if you Meditate right after the first hit and auto attack again same method can go for Alpha Strike , double strike but before the second hit just Alpha Strike . You're R Highlander lasts 7 seconds and makes you immune to all slows and gives a movement speed and attackspeed boost when activated if you killed or got an assist on a champion within those 7 seconds the duratrion is extended and your abilities have a lower cooldown, just be sure to time your ulti so you don't waste it. Your Wuju Style is awesome since it scales with ad and grants bonus ad which makes yi a great assasin but in this build we're building him tanky so just the flat 50 true damage on hit already makes you a tank destroyer which is awesome.

OK so Yi is squishy and has high dps , even a full page of attackspeed runes is great on yi for jungling but since we're going tanky we will be taking a bit of flat armor runes for surviving and scaling armor and scaling magic resist runes for late game (becomes effective after level 6) . As a jungler master yi usually ganks when he hits 6 or when a lane is open for an easy gank, so your scaling runes should do you just fine . As for jungle clear , attackspeed quints and marks are essential on yi because its great for dueling since it increases the amount of times you can double strike and lowers your Alpha Strike cooldown!

Double Edged Sword with Assassin Bounty Hunter and Merciless because it increases your dps and if you get kills Bounty Hunter increases the dps.
Fervor of Battle because hey extra on hit damage :D Oh and Unyielding with Tough Skin and Runic Armor along with your runes makes you tankier than the average yi which means more survival in team fights , comine your W with spirit visage and runic armor and the enemy will spend 9 seconds trying to kill allowing your team to **** **** up.

When the camps spawn you start at gromp (the frog thingy) and smite him so you can have the posion effect which helps clear allot! then you level your Meditate and use it. You should be back to full health or closer to it after that. Move onto blue buff and then kill the wolves, by then you should be level 3. Level your Alpha Strike then move onto the raptors (chicken things) and you will be able to insta kill the small raptors with your Alpha Strike. After that move onto the golems (those rock things) and smite them so you can stun monsters on every 5th hit. After that camp , move to you're red buff but be sure to ward the brush incase of an invade and then once you got red, recall back to base and you should have enough money for Skirmisher's Sabre . once you got that you will have your ignite and smite ready along with red buff so go ahead and gank some lanes and get some free kills :)

If you're ganking someone with about 50% or lower health , Yi can burst him down by Alpha Strike ing them and using Skirmisher's Sabre 's smite along with an auto attack right after Alpha Strike to trigger the smite effect and using ignite to watch them take a slow death :) . If you're going to gank someone with full health be sure you have Frozen Mallet or atleast red buff and the lane is pushed a bit.
