Introduction
What's up everyone, I'm Sav and I'm new to Amumu this season. I am here to give you info on how I play Amumu to see if I can help anyone, as well as get your input and feedback on what I'm currently doing to improve wherever I can.

General Jungle Tips
General Jungle Tips:
Before we get into all the Amumu Jungle information, I want to give some general jungling tips that will work across all junglers.

1. Communication is CRUCIAL, use your pings and text chat to communicate with your teammates. Assume everyone on your team never knows what you're doing and are never looking at their minimap. Ping/Chat and explain what you're doing as you're doing it so they are aware and can support if needed.

2. Don't be a keyboard warrior, if someone starts to flame, just mute and focus on your gameplay. The jungler gets blamed for a lot of things that happen that are actually not the junglers fault at all. Just mute and play your game if that becomes an issue. (I mute at the first instance of toxicity, this has helped tremendously)

3. Learning how to build effectively against the enemy team. For example, they are 3 AP 2 AD, with two characters that have a lot of self healing early, going Bramble Vest (not completing Thornmail) into Abyssal Mask is much more viable then completing one, then they other completely.

4. Utilize your Warding Trinket and Pinks to get deep wards in the enemy jungle. I prefer to ward the bush right next to Raptors, or the intersection between Blue, Gromp and Wolves as those are the highest traveled locations in top and bot jungles. Don't put yourself into danger to place the wards, ward when you know it's safe.

5. Capitalize on enemy jungler's positioning. If you see enemy jungler top, take Dragon, gank bot or clear enemy bottom jungle.

6. Learning when and where to place your wards so you get the most out of them.

7. Buy Pinks. These are so strong and help you and your team tremendously. I tend to buy one every back and try to place it around where I'm clearing or ganking.

8. Prioritize Dragon and Herald. Try to get 2 Heralds, they are extremely easy to solo low level and give you a ton of map pressure early.

9. Don't be afraid to stop clearing a camp before it's killed to help your team.

10. You can force the Scuttle Crabs to go in the direction you want them to. Stand behind the Scuttle towards the direction you want it to go. Utilize this to safely path the Scuttle away from where the enemy jungler could be coming from and not put you into a dangerous situation unnecessarily.

11. Maximize the effectiveness of Jungle Plants ( Blast Cones, Honey Fruits, Scryer's Bloom) clearing enemy Scryer's Bloom before taking objectives is one of the major instances of this.
Runes / Masteries
Runes / Masteries:
I've been doing a lot of research lately on Amumu runes and masteries and playing them in game. Here are the runes I've ran enough where I feel confident giving info / feedback on them:

1. Aftershock / Font of Life / Condition / Overgrowth > Cheap Shot / Ultimate Hunter (Domination)
Bonus: Adaptive Force / Adaptive Force / Magic Resist or Armor dependant on enemy team

2. Aftershock / Font of Life / Condition / Overgrowth > Triumph / Tenacity (Precision)
Bonus: Adaptive Force / Adaptive Force / Magic Resist or Armor dependant on enemy team
Builds
Builds:
Before I start to list out my builds, you need to know that you don't ALWAYS build them in this order. You want to change it based off what your team needs and the strengths of the opposing team. The Electrocute build is from another Reddit User but I can't seem to find his post to give him the credit he deserves.

Here are the two different builds I like to run on Amumu, and they coincide with the Runes / Masteries above, I will label what Runes I use with each build by adding (#) above each build.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Build 1: (Runes Setup 1 / 2)
Cinderhulk
Boots (Mercury's Treads / Ninja Tabi dependant on enemy team)
Abyssal Mask
Thornmail
Liandrys
Adaptive Helm / Randuins / Frozen Heart / Zhonyas / Banshee's / Morello
(The last item in this build is what you think works best against the enemy team.

Jungle Clear
Jungle Clear:
Each side's clear is in order from top to bottom, top being the camp you want to clear first. Try to prioritize Scuttlers as much as possible, so where ever you are in your clear, if scuttle is spawning soon make an effort to be there first and clear it.

There are multiple reason I choose to clear the jungle in this order. I will explain why and you'll be able to see the data as to why I make those decisions. Below you'll find information on each jungle camp; Gold, Experience, Spawn and Respawn Times.

Red Side: | Total Gold | Total Experience | First Spawns at: | Respawns in: |

Raptors | 85 | 95 − 128.25 | 1:30 | 2:00 |
Krugs | 135 | 175 − 236.25 | 1:42 | 2:00 |
Red Buff | 100 | 110 − 148.5 | 1:30 | 5:00 |

Blue Side:| Total Gold | Total Experience | First Spawns at: | Respawns in: |

Wolves | 85 | 95 − 128.25 | 1:30 | 2:00 |
Gromp | 105 | 135 − 182.25 | 1:42 | 2:00 |
Blue Buff | 100 | 110 − 148.5 | 1:30 | 5:00 |

Other: | Total Gold | Total Experience | First Spawns at: | Respawns in:

Scuttle | 70 − 126 | 115 − 207 | 3:15 | 2:30 |
Dragon | 25 | 150 − 330 | 5:00 | 5:00 |
Herald | 100 | 206 − 220 | 8:00 | 6:00 |
Baron | 325 / 300 | 600 / 800 | 20:00 | 6:00 |

Here are the reasons in which I choose to clear in this order:

1. You do not need a leash, giving your teammates the ability to get ahead early in their lanes. Level 2 Advantages are very important for early kills.

2. You will get experience quicker due to clearing the camps that have the quickest respawn times first. You can get 3 Wolves, Gromp, Raptors and Krug's camps before your 2nd buff Spawn.

3. This will offset your jungle camp spawn times from the opposing junglers, giving you the ability to invade their jungle and take camps and be able to return to your jungle after and get those same camps in your Jungle.

4. Dragon Spawns will not be so close with your Red and Blue Buff spawns, making it easier to prioritize the Dragons because you don't have a major camp available in your jungle forcing you to choose between the two.

5. Junglers seem to really prioritize their buffs, and try to get them on respawn. You can contest their buffs and utilize it to ward and figure out where the enemy jungler is consistently, or if they aren't at their buffs, you can take it for yourself.
The Start
The Start:

1. I prefer to clear the top side Jungle first always. I will save my ward, and start top side jungle camp that is shown above at the top of the Blue/Red Jungle info (Wolves or Raptors)

2. After clearing that side of the jungle completely, you will be level 3. I look to see if I can gank either lane next to the jungle I just cleared. Gank if you can, if not, head to the uncleared part of your jungle.

3. When entering the uncleared part of your jungle, head to river and ward the bush that's closest to mid lane and gives you vision of the enemy jungler's jungle entrances to the river. This gives you and your mid laner information about the enemy jungler, giving you time to react earlier.

4. Dependant on when Scuttle spawns, you want to prioritize this over any other camps. The ward you placed before starting to clear your bottom jungle will give you vision of River, utilize Tip #7 in the top section to safely secure Scuttle.

5. Once Scuttle is secure and you've cleared both jungles, look to gank or buy. Prioritize AP champions on your team to gank for, as your passive makes enemy champions receive 10% more magic damage.

6. After buying, you want to make Dragon or Herald your top priority. As Amumu, you can't solo Dragon so looking for the highest probable successful gank to give that lane advantage to be able to roam to Dragon or Herald and assist in securing it.

7. Herald can easily be solo'd. Communicate to your team that you'll be attempting to sneak it, so they can do what they need to do before applying pressure in both lanes so the enemy laners can't roam. Drop a pink against the back wall, and have the herald along that back wall as well. You can take the blast cone to enter the pit without the enemy being able to see you, even if they have scuttle ward, you can't be seen taking it unless they have vision physically inside the pit. Also make sure to clear any Scryer's Bloom before hand.

8. Generally, I like to use Herald bot or mid to get Dragon Priority. Utilizing it to get first tower gold before the enemy team gets it is also an effective way to use it.
The Middle / End
The Middle / End:

1. I usually buy Sweeper at around this point, when a tower falls and lanes start shifting etc.

2. Clear a side of your jungle, and then look for a gank, invade or objective. It's not always possible, so don't worry if there's nothing available. Just farm, buy, ward, just make sure you're not wandering aimlessly. If you don't know what to do, and have gold for an item, just back and reset.

3. Try to buy a pink every time you back and use it before you back again.

4. Make sure to punish the enemy jungler as much as possible. You do this by having wards or seeing him ganking lanes, and then going elsewhere to put him behind. Clear his jungle camps, gank a lane that's overextended, Objectives, etc.

5. You should be starting to group partially, make sure you're going in only when you have teammates to follow up. When dancing with the enemy team before a fight, make sure to ping when you're about to go in, I usually do it 2 or 3 times so my team knows and is ready to go all in.

6. Look to Q enemy carries and use your ult on 3+ enemies, 2+ if they are both carries.

7. Look for advantages as well, if you're up 5v4 look to force a fight or take towers / inhibs or dragon / baron. Kill enemy jungler, go straight for baron / dragon and ping it so everyone knows.
