Runes
- Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage: The flat AD is simply the best thing you can go.
Riven dosn't benefit that much from Armor Pen runes early.
- Greater Seal of Armor: These are standard for top. Swap them for Greater Seal of Health if you are facing an AP laner.
- 6x Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction + 3x Greater Glyph of Scaling Cooldown Reduction: These makes us get that 10% CDR we want in order to get 40/45% with items later on.
- Greater Mark of Attack Damage: Flat AD for better damage in the early levels.
This is another page that you can use that is good. It gives you both health and armor but lacks a little bit of AD compared to the other rune page.
This page is also good if you don't have rune pages enough for both AD and AP matchups since this one as I said have both health and armor.
Runes
So for masteries I've been testing 2 different pages. The first one is a 12/18/0 page where we get the 5 points in Intelligence for the 5% cdr and +5% cdr cap. I take Thunderlord's Decree because it's the best of the 3 in the Cunning tree for all-ins and burst damage dealers like Riven, Diana, LeBlanc.
Because of nerf...
Since the other Keystones got nerfed I think the above one is the one to go with.
But if you would like to you could try the other ones out here. \/

If you are having difficulties farming with Riven (If you don't have runes for example) you should be using Riven's passive. Her passive increases the damage of your next auto attack after using one of her abilities. So what you do is that you use a
Q and get one stack of your passive, then use that to hit a minion, then use your
Q again to get another stack. !NOTE: You can only have 3 stacks of your passive at any given time!
So first I'm gonna give you Riven's main all in combo.
All in: E > R > W > AA > Q > AA > Q > AA > Q > AA > W > AA > R
This combo should be able to kill pretty much any squishy on the enemy team at level 6 if executed properly.
Riven's E can be used to cancel pretty much any one of her abilities. So make sure to use this.
Here are some of the simple cancel combos with her E.
E + R
E + W
E + Q
E + Hydra + W
In the last one we use Hydra to cancel the animation of Riven's W. This way we don't waste any time and get as much damage as possible out in the shortest amount of time possible.
Combining these combos we get a good combo that u can use in laning phase E > W + Q - The trick here is to after your E wait around half a second+ before using your W to time it correctly.
You can lead this into a fast Q combo. You can also use Tiamat before using your W if you have it.
Laning Combos
Here are some of the basic laning combos that you want to know.
Use this one if you are up against a melee opponent:
Q > AA + W > E
You want to use your Q to get in range of your opponent, then AA and E away. If you're not too far away your Q should hit the enemy too for some extra damage.
This combo is really good for pretty much free damage against most melee matchups.
Use this one if you are up against a ranged opponent:
E > Q > AA + W then walk away.
Because the enemy is ranged we have to use the E to first get in range to attack them. This also blocks potential damage coming while going in for the trade. The W helps with making them uable to attack you while moving away.
The most common combo that you want to learn as quickly as possible with Riven is her "Fast Q Combo". This combo makes you able to get one more auto attack in than you would if you had not used the combo. And that's what makes this technique so good in 1v1's. It pretty much increases your attack speed by ~25%.
Here is a tutorial on the fast Q combo by BoxBox (A very famous Riven player)
Watch it, it has some other combos and wallhops in it too so :)

The Fast Q Combo:
AA > Q > (Move) > AA > Q > (Move) > AA > Q > (Move) > AA
So one of the things that Riven is capable of doing is using her 3'd
Q to get over walls on the map. This is a very important technique to learn and use in game. It will help you in every way possible, from getting away to chasing down your opponent by taking a shorter rout than you'd have to go normaly.
Here you will see an image that shows you the different spots that you can wall jump on Summoner's Rift.
Another thing to keep in mind when doing a wallhop is that you can use your E to change the direction that Riven is facing in order to make a jump more accurate.

So in my opinion teleport is the better option. Teleport allows you to have more map pressure and also you can take a camp early to get some extra pots and a ward for extra sustain and ward to keep you safe and also you can use it to get to lane faster so that you won't miss much cs if you have a wave under your tower. Teleport is pretty much the best way to carry games as top.
I would only take Ignite if I need to make sure I have good kill pressure in lane and look to play aggressive.
NOTE: With the new pre-season nerf to teleport's cooldown I think Ignite might be a more viable to go but I still prefer teleport for the added map pressure.

Since you no longer get level 2 from doing a camp I don't think that this is a vuiable strat anymore. You will probably get an early disadvatage by doing this. There for I highly recommend not doing a camp level 1 anymore.
Instead of this you can double jungle. I will cover this soon.
