[Rhaast Favored] Amumu is a champion that poses relatively minor threat, Rhaast excels in shreding tanks, while his CC will annoy you he simply lacks the damage to duel you. At the same time he doesn't have enough early game juice to prevent you from scaling.
Bel'Veth
[Rhaast favored] Bel'Veth is extremely cancer feast and famine champion, she has one of the strongest level 1 invade, particularly the raptor cheese. Once you get your form she will struggle to keep up with your tempo and teamfight power.
Briar
[Rhaast favored] Briar is a weird champion to face, usually she poses no real problem to you even in the early game as her clear and map pressure is mediocre. However once she gets her ult the chaos starts to arrise and the coinflip of "does my team have ears" begins. A skill matchup in my opinion.
Diana
[Neutral Matchup] Diana is a jungler striving on fast paced full clear, that means she practically can't invade you enough to set you back and stop you from scaling. Additionally your R is complete counter to hers.
Ekko
[Shadow Assassin Favored] Ekko is extremely mobile and therefore slippery champion, he is strong at all stages of the game and snowballs incredibly fast. His burst combo is bonkers and his W and ULT timed properly can absolutely shutdown yours.
Elise
[Shadow Assassin Favored] Elise an extremely potent invader, that already makes her a major threat to our early game. But it doesn't end there, her burst is insane and she can escape almost any scenario we can put her in. Ward your jungle from the side your NOT starting on and pray for the best.
Evelynn
[Shadow Assassin Favored] Eve is an extremely feast or famine champion, she is piss poor weak in any scenario where she can't get you off guard without your team, her teamfights are also non existent and she is immobile as heck. She is useless without her ULT so punish her whenever she either doesn't have it or is PRE LVL 6.
Fiddlesticks
[Shadow Assassin Favored] Fiddle is an odd one out, while he can't duel you he is difficult to pin down due to his Q and E. His W buffers through your ULT so do keep it in mind or else you might get unexpected surprise.
Graves
[Shadow Assassin Favored] Avoid at all cost. Graves is designed to counter AD melee junglers and is extremely proficient at doing so. He can and probably will invade you.
Hecarim
[Rhaast Favored] Hecarim is an extremely high pace jungler so keeping up with him is challenging. He is difficult to lock down and on top of it his ULT is a beyond BS escape tool. You outscale him due to his feast or famine nature but be careful of him running away with the game.
Ivern
[Shadow Assassin Favored] Ivern is the weirdest champ there is, he has one of the fastest and most unique clears in the game, which makes him both a nuisance and a threat. He doesn't need resources to jungle which means he can easily get his other lanes ahead by giving them resources. He is remarkable squishy once you get Serpents Fang tho.
Jarvan IV
[Rhaast Favored] Jarvan is super oppresive early on and settles into more supportive role later. Definitely a force to be reckoned with, his ganks are amazing as well so tracking him is top priority. After transforming into red form he is a ***** boi tho, definitely get Serpents Fang as well.
Karthus
[Shadow Assassin Favored] You one shot him, literally. Bro is a walking canon minion that hits like a truck, try to punish him as much you can early on so you can snowball the game before he transforms into a nuke.
Kha'Zix
[Shadow Assassin Favored] Kha is a champion that is extremely feast or famine, his Q has one of if not the best AD scalings and he will let you know it if he catches you alone. Be aware of his position and prevent him from cheesing you pre form and your gucci, if you fail to do that your getting one shotted from that point on tho.
Kindred
[Shadow Assassin Favored] Kindred are feast and famine stalkers. The matchup is a game of chicken between who can force out whose ULT first.
Lee Sin
[Rhaast Favored] Lee is an extremely volatile matchup, he is strong throughout the game and mega disruptive. He rarely decides to invade however you gotta try and attempt to track him so he won't lvl 3 cheese one of your laners. Later on he can't duel you anymore 1 on 1 and you outvalue him in teamfights.
Lillia
[Shadow Assassin Favored] Lilia is piss poor weak and scales into DOT god. Abuse her low map presence to gain your form ASAP and don't let her live, save your ULT for hers so you can cancel it out and get her out of teamfights. Once she gets Zhonya the matchup becomes heavily favored for her so get on the map before she can do so.
Master Yi
[Neutral Matchup] Never duel him. NEVER. His whole kit cancels out yours, play the map and teamfights, you clear faster and are way more mobile. Once he has LT stacked just run. You ain't beating the master.
Naafiri
[Rhaast Favored] The champion is C. Just that. Her W is annoying and she has way more dashes than you can handle, you outshine her in teamfights and she can't 1v1 you post form so play safe till then.
Nidalee
[Shadow Assassin Favored] Nida has a strong map presence early on due to her kit, her burst damage is bonkers as well. Avoid her pre form and try to not get cheesed by early invades. Post form matchup is extremely favorable for us so just scale.
Nocturne
[Rhaast Favored] Nocturne similar to us relies heavily on his spike that being lvl 6, you can never match his ganks so try to outfarm him and gain objectives. His teamfights are non-existent so play for those and deny him easy picks with his ULT. Save your ULT for whenever he tries to fear you to cancel it out for easy kill.
Nunu & Willump
[Neutral Matchup] I love Nunu however our boi has no chances versus us. He can never duel any of the forms regardless of how fed he is. Track him early on so he won't snowball the game away and ward objectives so he can't abuse his fast paced clears. Save your ULT for his to cancel out the damage.
Pantheon
[Rhaast Favored] Cancer champ. You will hardly ever win a duel with him so play for teamfights. His E can completely cancel your ULT damage and heal ALWAYS, no matter the angle if he knows his ****. He clears and moves extremely slow, and without ULT is always late to fights so abuse it and counter jungle him.
Poppy
[DEPRESSION MATCHUP] PERMBAN.
Rammus
[Rhaast Favored] Rammus is OK. Kayn is not AA based champion so he can't really do much post Black Cleaver spike.
Rengar
[Neutral Matchup] Rengar is a rough coin flip, if he gets fed you are screwed if he doesn't he is. Bad teamfights but constant map pressure, care for lvl 3 invade on your buff. Post your form you are mostly fine as long as you duel him inside the bush so he can't get a jump on you.
Sejuani
[Rhaast Favored] The most free scaling there is, she clear slow, can't duel or invade you. Her only strength are ganks so SPAM PING the monkeys on bot lane.
Shaco
[Neutral Matchup] During the writing of this guide a Shaco OTP managed to invade me thrice, kill my TOP lane twice and uninstall the game on my PC...
Shyvana
[Neutral Matchup] She can never invade you, so as long as you deny her free Drakes for her passive she is screwed. She can't duel Rhaast and Assassins pegs her hard. Without her ULT she is a canon fodder so abuse her.
Skarner
[Rhaast Favored] My boi Skarner has been sadly butchered by Riot which is a shame cause he is absolutely FREE for Rhaast to feed from.
Talon
[Shadow Assassin Favored] he clears and moves on the map on similar pace to ours, his burst is bonkers but we both outscale and play the teamfights better. Without his ULT he loses a major part of his damage so punish him whenever it's down.
Trundle
[Neutral Matchup] PLAY THE MAP. Never 1v1 him, you WON'T win. He is mega slow, his ganks are bad and he clears like ****. Scale and outvalue him in teamfights.
Udyr
[Neutral Matchup] Udyr is versatile and extremely fast champion. AP Udyr is Rhaast playtoy and AD is easy prey for Shadow Assassin. You won't duel him early on but he scales like **** so just play the map before then.
Vi
[Rhaast Favored] After all the nerfs Vi is more of a CC bot than a champ, she still outpowers you early on but later she is a canon minion. Play is slow and steady, track her and your gucci.
Viego
[Neutral Matchup] Good Viego is ALWAYS a threat, it's a heavily volatile skill matchup. Pre-form you can never duel him except for lvl 1 due to him instantly stacking conqueror. Post that he is a teamfight beast and has extreme burst damage. Preferably get a pick on him before objectives or he will maul your team if you let him.
Volibear
[Rhaast Favored] God I hate playing into him. He squashes you early on, he beats you mid game, and pegs you late game. Play the fights and pray for the best.
Warwick
[Neutral Matchup] Opressive early on and falls of like a truck mid to late game. Play the map and try to track him, he will often times coinflip early ganks and it sadly will depend on your teammates IQ if he gets ahead or not, on 3 items you almost always win on both forms.
Wukong
[Rhaast Favored] Monkey is a direct counter to ALL AD based champs and Kayn is no exception, he is extremely slow on the map, but he is teamfight and duel god. Avoid at all cost and punish him off ULT CD.
Xin Zhao
[Rhaast Favored] Xin Ping Bao Bao is versatile duelist, you only can attempt to fight him at 3 items or more and even then it's a flip. You will eventually outscale him and you are way better in the teamfights.
Zac
[Rhaast Favored] God I love Zac, terrible clear and lots of HP to drain from.
Zed
[Neutral Matchup] Fastest. Clear. In. Game. RIOT WTF is this supposed to be...
Yasuo
Rhaast is one of the best champions to pair with Yasuo, your W serves as an excellent and reliable tool for him to get multiple ULT targets in one combo. He also provides good gank setup with his Q3.
Zilean
Movement speed buff and free Guardian Angel in one singular champ, having Zilean on your team is BONKERS.
Pyke
Kayn has a rather piss poor early game map presence, having Pyke on your team helps to tip the scale in our favor. Good Pyke is the best roaming support and brings huge value on the rift.
Bard
Bard offers vast amount of ultility to the team, his roams are AMAZING.
Rammus
OK.
Lulu
I LOVE MY LULU.
Aatrox

Zed

Varus

+ Relatively Low Skill Floor + High Skill Ceiling + Incredibly Versatile + Absurd Amount of Mobility + High Impact Carry + Cool AF Champ
Cons
+ Skill Shot Reliant + Difficult To Play From Behind + Struggles A Lot Before Transforming + Hard CC Can Shut You Down + Some Champs Outscale Him Heavily + You Run a Risk Of Becoming Edgelord
About Forms
Shadow Assassin
+ Best Mobility In The Game + Huge Outplay potential + Extremely Hard to Lockdown + 100-0 Squishies in One Combo + Can Live Where Others Would Die - Easy To Kill If Caught Out - Isn't The Best Scaler - Struggles Heavily Versus Tanks - Relies on Ult As Escape Mechanic - Zhonya's and GA Exist
The Shadow Assassin is a constant threat on the map to the enemy team, his high mobility and amazing burst are a major liability to lives of enemy ADC's, Mages and Enchanters. Through Shadow Step Kayn is always able to come through unexpected angles to one shot enemy carry and escape unscathed due to speed and slow resist ganed through it. His R Umbral Trespass is an excellent escape tool that allows him to reposition after succesful assassination of his target. The upgraded Blade's Reach is a major asset to make use of both when engaging AND disengaging.
Darkin Rhaast
+ Shreds Through Tanks + Incredibly Hard to Kill + Amazing Teamfighter + Useful CC In Form Of His W + Lategame Beast - Can Get Kited Heavily - Anti-Heal Is A Pain - Relies On Team For Engage - Not The Best Burst - Can Get Popped By Fed ADC's
Rhaast is nearly unstopable killing machine, once he achieves his core build. He is an absolute menace to face as immobile bruiser or a tank as his Reaping Slash max %HP DMG is absolutely incredible and it heals him based on the damage dealt thanks to his passive. His version of Blade's Reach provides him with a potent tool of disengaging from unwanted fights or dealing major blows to enemies who stick a bit too close to themselves. Through Umbral Trespass he has an effective 2nd health bar as he heals pretty much to full health once full build by using it.
Picking Your Form
While choosing form to lock into may seem complicated at first it's actually quite easy and it goes as follows, you take a good honest look at enemy team comp and ask yourself a question - can I reliably one shot >=3 enemy champs?
Of course there are some exceptions to the rule which you will learn along the way as some champs while squishy have some gimmicks which make Rhaast a better option (ex. Hecarim, Xin Zhao) , while some while being tankier arent'easy to 1v1 directly so it's better to kite them with extra speed of Shadow Assassin (ex. Sett, Trundle).
Furthermore it is important to take your own teamcomp into account, if your facing champs like Sion or Mundo and the rest of enemy team is squishy you still should consider going Red form in order to lock down the splitpush.
Early Game
As Kayn 8/10 times you want to commit to your full clear and contesting scuttle on spawn.
The other two scenarios are as follows:
1. After clearing one side of your jungle you notice enemy laner heavily overextended with no escape tools (ex. Viktor mid) and your laner has useful setup tools (ex. Galio mid) you can opt to forgo clearing your other side and lvl 3 gank. While doing this you have to take numerous things into account like: where can enemy jungler be? Can he be strong enough to countergank? Are u risking getting invaded by ganking? Is the kill certain?
2. The enemy jungler is champion even weaker than you (ex. Karthus, Zyra) so you plan a cheeky invade. What I like to do is cheese lvl 1 raptor invade by hiding in the bush nearby, optimally u get vision of enemy jungler before hand so u can reliably do 2 things:
A) Steal his whole red side go to your blue side and then contest/defend your blue side (requires help from your laners in form of vision so extremely risky)
B) Clear his raptors and then smite contest his red buff and try to kill him (high risk-high reward)
Once you get your clear out of the way you can transition into your regural jungle gameplay, as Kayn you have the most unique angles available to you like getting through dragon pit and ganking from behind so use it to your advantage.
Also I know we all love dying for form, but please for the love of god don't make dumb plays just to get your form, IT WILL bite you in the *** the further you climb in your steps.
Mid-Late Game
Once you get your form the mid game starts for you and at the same time the nuance ends, you are a real champion now and should do what a real champion does. Farm hard, focus on objectives and get those takedowns. Good luck champ!
