Threats & Synergies
Akali has huge amount of harass. If you take full combo from Akali then you will not be able to trade. You will have to dodge her harass to be able to trade back. If you dodge her Five-Point Strike(Q), you should be able to trade. Another Good news is that your Infected Bonsaw and Heart Zapper will be able to go through her Twilight Shroud(W). Nonetheless difficult match-up. (Recommended core items: Spirit Visage) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Akali) (Outscaling Edge: Dr.Mundo)
Dodge his Bandage Toss(Q) and you will easily be able to trade. Take Flash or Ghost along with Ignite. Chase him down and you should be good. (Recommended core Items: Spirit Visage) In team fight use Infected Bonesaw to peel Amumu off prevent your ADC or Mid laner from getting crowd controlled by him. Sustained 1v1 Trades: Dr.Mundo) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
Use Minions to block her Charm(E). Her Orb of Deception(Q), Charm(E), and Spirit Rush(R) is dodge-able. Focus on dodging her skillshots. (Recommended core Items: Spirit Visage) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even)(Outscaling Edge: Even)
Her damage is tankable early as you can run down Annie. Do consider taking a full trade against her as her auto-attack harass is not as potent as other champions. (Recommended Items: Spirit Visage) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Dr.Mundo without Annie Fire Shield)(Outscaling Edge: Dr.Mundo)
Flash is mandatory if you want to win against Anivia or gap close due to her Crystallize Wall(W). (Recommended core items: Force of Nature, Spirit Visage) (Outscaling Edge: Even) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Anivia with Glacial Storm)
Aurelion Sol is rare match-up that you do not see often. This game will be dependent if you can dodge his Center of the Universe(Passive) as it is a rotational ball that damages you. Aurelion Sol can either expand or constrict his passive. Also you need to dodge his Celestial Expansion(E) which is his stun. Make sure you attack him if he has active flight which is his Comet of Legend(R) which interrupts him. (Recommended Items: Spirit Visage) (Outscaling Edge: Dr.Mundo)
Do not dive him under his Shurima's Legacy(Turret). Conquering Sands(Q) allows his soldier to dash dodge it and he will be tradeable. Recommended to fight him without his soldiers. (Recommended Items: Spirit Visage) (Outscaling Edge: Even) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Azir)
Try to fight her without Precision Protocol(Q) as she will get significant extra damage. Dodge her Tactical Sweep(W) which is frontal cone AOE and trading should be bearable. (Recommended Items: Plated Steelcaps, Thornmail) (Outscaling Edge: Even) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even)
3 of her skills are skillshot based. Will be up to you if this will be easy or hard match-up. Noxious Blast(Q) which is a poison blast, must be dodged to be able to trade. Miasma which is 5 second AOE that should be avoided as it can apply slow + grounding. Petrifying Gaze(R) can be avoided if you face away from Cassiopeia. (Recommended Items: Spirit Visage) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Cassiopeia or Dr.Mundo if he dodges all skillshots) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
This can be either a easy or hard-match up if you cannot dodge his skillshot. Juke out his Rupture(Q) and Feral Scream(W). Avoid fighting Cho'gath if you are low health as his Feast(R) can execute you. (Recommended Items: Spirit Visage) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Dr.Mundo or Cho'gath if he lands everything) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
Hard match-up. You will definitely need to mirror his Summoner's Spell(Flash/Ghost). Decimate(Q) needs to be dodged or juked out, but if you can't go to his handle of his Axe as it does not apply Hemmorhage nor heal him. Fight him after he casts his Crippling Strike(W) and duration goes away. Save your Infected Bonesaw for his Apprehend(E).Avoid fighting him with 5 stacks of Hemorrhage. (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Darius) (Recommended Items: Deadman's Plate) (Outscaling Edge: Dr.Mundo)
A rare pick, but should be noted. Timewinder(Q) should be dodged, Parallel Convergence(W) aka his Shield/AOE Stun should be dodged and pretty much avoided as this is the only thing that will prevent Singed from out-trading. Avoid staying near his image from taking too much damage. (Recommended Items: Bramble Vest, Spirt Visage) (Outscaling Edge: Dr.Mundo) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even)
Very straight-forward match-up. Avoid trading until you know it is the real Fiddlesticks. (Recommended Items: Spirit Visage) (Outscaling Edge: Even) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Dr.Mundo)
Very difficult lane as she has true damage as Riposte(W) negates your Infected Bonesaw. Must bait it out. It will have to be a complete hit and run match-up. You will have try to make her work for that vital point(Passive) for the trades. (Recommended items: Thornmails) (Riposte overrides Infected Bonesaw) (Riposte blocks Ignite) (1v1 Sustained Trades: Fiora) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
Fight him without his Powder Keg as he can dish tremendous amount of damage. Focus on killing his Powder Keg before making a trade. (Recommended Items: Deadman's Plate) (1v1 Sustained Trades: Gangplank, Dr.Mundo without Powder Kegs) (Outscaling Edge: Dr.Mundo)
Use your Infected Bonesaw and watch for his Decisive Strike(Q). Avoid his Judgement(E) and trade him. Do not trade with him if you're low as Demacian Justice is a execute. (Recommended Items: Sunfire Cape, Plated Steelcaps, Deadman's Plate) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even) (Outscaling Edge: Dr.Mundo)
Trade with Hecarim under your Infected Bonesaw as the slow reduces his damage. Try to avoid trading with Hecarim with 2 stacks of Rampage(Q). Trade with Hecarim without his Spirit of Dread which is his sustained DPS buff cooldown interval is 22-18 seconds. Use Mega Adhesive for reducing his Devastating Charge(E) and stopping his Onslaught of Shadows(R). (Recommended Items: Plated Steelcaps) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Hecarim) (Outscaling Edge: Dr.Mundo)
Destroy her Tentacle around her to prevent additional damage or awkward pathing. Dodge her tentacle as the tentacle attack pathing is pretty linear. Her Test of Spirit(E) needs to be dodge to be able to trade against her, but if you cannot dodge, just run out of the tether. To be able to trade with her Tether avoid stacking on your Vessel and kite the Illaoi away from the Vessel to prevent extra damage. You will have to most likely run out of her ultimate or use Infected Bonesaw to delay it. (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Illaoi, Without Tether then Even) (Recommended Items: Bramble) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
Predict her Flawless Duet(E) and Vanguard's Edge(R). Doing so will make this a easy trade and will prevent her from refreshing her Bladesurge(Q) AKA Dash. If you do get caught by her skillshots do use Heart Zapper to reduce her damage. (Recommended Items: Thornmail, Plated Steelcaps) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
Time the Demacian Standard(E) and Dragon Strike(Q) combo for dodging it. Take Flash to negate his Cataclysm effectiveness. Trade with him when his Golden Aegis(W) is down. (Recommended Items: None) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Dr.Mundo) (Outscaling Edge: Dr.Mundo)
I would say it would be a "Minor" match-up if Jax doesn't build Blade of the Ruined King. For Jax you will have to constantly kite him on a constant basis. Consider building Deadman's Plate to help out with the kiting. Avoid his Counter-Strike(E) and you should be able to trade easily. Avoid doing sustained trade against Jax especially if he has Grandmaster's Might(R). Priortize core item against Jax and build tank items afterward. (Recommended Items: Thornmail) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even, Jax if he has Blade of the Ruined King) (Outscaling Edge: Even) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even)
Fight him in a Hammer Stance, you can easily out trade him, but if in Mercury Cannon Stance(R) you will have to make short and quick trades. To trade with his Mercury Cannon Stance make sure you stay in between Jayce and his Acceleration Gate(E) to mitigate his Shock Blast(Q). Short trade against Mercury Cannon Stance and long trade against Hammer Stance. (Recommended Items: Plated Steelcaps, Thornmail, Deadman's Plate) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Dr.Mundo, Jayce's Mercury Cannon Stance) (Outscaling Edge: Dr.Mundo)
Will have to make short trades against Kalista especially if she builds Blade of the Ruined King. This match-up will have to be reliant on your Infected Bonesaw placement. (Recommended Items: Bramble Vest, Deadman's Plate, Plated Steelcaps) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Kalista) (Outscaling Edge: Even)

To be honest, Kayle is consider both "Tiny" and "Extreme" threat as she can either feel like a pinch or a nuclear bomb. Dodge her Radiant Bomb(Q) and you should be able to out-trade her. Use Infected Bonesaw to migrate her Celestial Blessing(W) which give her movement speed. Avoid fighting her whilst in Divine Judgement(R) which make her invulnerable and does AOE damage. Dodge his AOE Blooming Blow(Q) by going out of the circle or flinging her out. Avoid being in front of Lillia as she has a Watch Out! Rush(W) that deals frontal damage. Dodge her Swirlseeds(E) to prevent from being slowed. Her Lifting Lullaby(R) is applicable if she auto-attacked you for the past 3 seconds. Her R will put you to sleep if have her auto-attack debuff. But without the debuff her R will only slow you. (Outscaling Edge: Dr.Mundo) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Dr.Mundo) (Recommended Items: Spirit Visage, Force of Nature)
Avoid her Iceborn Subjugation(Passive) when she kills or get assist on champion a avatar of that slain champion will walk around and explode. Dodge her Ice Shard(Q) and you should be able to make a even trade. Ring of Frost(W) is a AOE snare around her, juke her W or avoid it. Save Infected Bonesaw for her Glacial Path. Avoid staying in her Frozen Tomb(R) as she heals and does damage overtime. If she casts Frozen Tomb(R) on you it cannot be avoided. (Outscaling Edge: Dr.Mundo) (Sustain 1v1 Trades: Even) (Recommended Items: Spirit Visage, Force of Nature, Mercury's Treads)

Comeuppance(R) can be blocked by minions, structures, champions, and monsters. (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Akshan) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
Infected Bonesaw Dr. Mundo hurls his Bonesaw, dealing damage equal to a portion of his target's current Health and slowing them for a short time. Dr. Mundo delights in the suffering of others, so he is returned a portion of the Health cost when he successfully lands a Bonesaw (doubled on killing blows)
Heart Zapper Dr. Mundo charges up a defibrillator, dealing 20/35/50/65/80 magic damage each second for up to 4 seconds to nearby enemies. While active he stores 25/30/35/40/45% of damage taken as gray health and can Recast.
Recast: Detonate the defibrillator, dealing [7% bonus Health +20/35/50/65/80] magic damage to nearby enemies. If this hits at least one champion, Dr. Mundo restores 100% of gray health. If only non-champions were hit, Dr. Mundo instead restores 50% gray health.”
Blunt Force Trauma“Passive: Dr. Mundo gains 15/20/25/30/35 Attack Damage based on his missing Health.
Active: Mundo violently swings his ‘medical’ bag, causing his next Attack to deal an additional [5/15/25/35/45 +7% bonus Health] Physical damage, increased by up to 60% based on his missing Health. If the enemy is killed, Mundo swats them away, dealing the minimum damage to all enemies they pass through.
The bonuses from the passive reach their maximum at 70% missing Health. Deals 140% damage to minions and jungle monsters.”
Maximum Dosage “Dr. Mundo pumps himself with chemicals, restoring 20% missing Health then gaining 15/25/35% Move Speed, [4/5.5/7% bonus Health] Attack Damage, and regenerating 20/45/70% max Health over 10 seconds.”
When fighting heavy AP teams Spirit Visage and Adaptive Helm are amazing on him. Both of those together while maxing your Maximum Dosage gives you somewhere around 300 Magic Resistance.
Into AP top laners like Mordekaiser, Maximum Dosage maxing is recommended. You get 42% bonus magic resist and a tons of AD from Maximum Dosage on level 9. Just remember to activate Heart Zapper before you go in to get the MR bonus stacking.
If the enemy is rushing armor like Bramble Vest, max Infected Bonesaw or Heart Zapper. Heart Zapper gives you more waveclear and is better for all-ins. Infected Bonesaw is better for just throwing Boneaws and last hitting. I personally almost never max Infected Bonesaw first because it only gains 2.5% current HP damage per level.
Dr. Mundo is a weak champion at the beginning of the game and is match-up dependent, but when there are 2 to 3 for him to spike, Mundo will have absolute defense while chasing the enemy’s ADC. Dr. Mundo at the late game always has the ability to negates damage and run around “going where ever he pleases” into the team, especially when the team is underequiped with no / little damage in the percentage of health and lacking Grevious Wound.
One of the toughest tank that can compete against Cho'Gath for example.
Do not use Mana
Ability to reduce damage via Heart Zapper and can be supplemented via Spirit Visage and Elixir of Iron
The abilities has a short cooldown especially when Dr. Mundo builds cooldown reduction to supplement it.
Grasp of the Undying in laning for trading and sustaining. Fleet Footwork works great during all phases of the game Conqueror is good but many enemy champs will stack up their Conqueror faster than you example your opposing top can be Fiora Irelia Jax.
Grasp of the Undying is really good vs many champions that you have to crush early, for example versus Nasus. Get Grasp of the Undying if the icon turns green on the bottom and go in Auto-Attack then go out do it again. For example you do that for 30 seconds you basically poke him out to 30% health.
Auto + Maximum Dosage + Auto - As Dr. Mundo Maximum Dosage is counted as a auto attack reset
Auto + Infected Bonesaw + Auto - As Dr. Mundo Infected Bonesaw is also counted as a auto attack reset just like Blunt Force Trauma
Auto + Infected Bonesaw + Auto + Trauma - By doing this you have achieved two Auto Reset with your combo
Unfortunately Dr. Mundo Maximum Dosage nor Heart Zapper does not reset his auto-attack. Learning this combo will pretty much teach how to burst since most player will not be predict such rapid succession.
Boots: Depending on the situation of the match, opponents on the lane and the enemy team to choose Boots. If you encounter heavy physical damage, choosing Plated Steelcaps is a ideal. If the enemy team has many crowd control skills, you should opt Mercury's Treads.
Dr. Mundo builds can go like this Sunfire Aegis + Spirit Visage + Warmog's Armor
An example against physical damage is Dr. Mundo facing champions with physical damage such as Yone , Yasuo , or the opponent’s physical damage presence is overwhelming: either Randuin's Omen or Thornmail will be the perfect item for Mundo – to limit the power and their level of protection.

Excellent core to make up for lack of push pressure on Dr.Mundo. Synergize well with defensive items since they give out health thus increasing damage on Titanic Hydra since the damage is based on health.
It gives a shield which helps you heal up from your sustain as the shield decays. Also it gives bonus AD and not base AD . It's a comparatively cheap item.
Excellent synergy with your offensive abilities as it provides CDR and gives it 30% more healing than usual. Good for those pesky AP Carries and Assassins.
Build Giant's Belt first as it is more cost effective than getting a Chain Vest. This item will definitely allow you to maneuver across the map and go straight for their Marksman.
Both magic resistance and armor plus the damage reduction makes it a perfect defensive item on any AD champ. Synergize well with Spirit Visage and Dr.Mundo abilities.
Anathema's Chains is a very cheap item that’s accessible to both solo laners and supports. It is also the second-highest single health item (+650 health) in-game after [Warmog’s Armor] (+800 health). Let's you take 1% reduced damage per stack of Vendetta from your Nemesis, up to 30% reduced damage. At maximum stacks, your Nemesis has 20% reduced Tenacity.
Situation you should build this item: When you’re up against a split-pusher or if you're dealing with a fed Marksman or Mid Laner. Does not reduce true damage, not blocked by spell shield nor counts as a spell activation.
Now a legendary item as it still provides Ability Haste, but as a flat stats. Provides tank stats against magic damage dealer. Synergizes with Boots of Lucidity and Boots of Swiftness. Will be useful against mobility mages along with your Hextech Rocketbelt on your initation on teamfights. Chemtank should be consider as a mid-to-late game option on the potential for initiating.
Should be must buy if they have sustained champions like Tryndamere Aatrox Ekko for exmaple.
Now a legendary item as it still provides Health and Armor, but as a flat stats. Provides tank stats against physical damage dealer. The lack of magic resistance, might not be ideal to build this item against very heavy magic damage composition.
Excellent against Critical Damage dealers that are rushing Infinity Edge or any type of critical damage items.
Excellent against heavy magic damage team composition.
Helps your Marksman or AP Carry from dying by healing them and migrating damage. Excellent item due to your sustain. Also consider this item if there is less than two Knight's Vow on your team.
Excellent to have a AOE slow whilst using Maximum Dosage Infected Bonesaw allowing to stick on the opposing Marksman and AP Carry. Consider buying this item if the support does not have Zeke's Convergence.
[nextcol] Gives you a charge attack just like Deadman's Plate, just think about it like Nasus Siphoning Strike but you get health instead synergizes well with Titanic Hydra and various high armor or magic resistance item that normally would not give too much health [/columns]
Recommended against physical match-ups as this will help you push and pick off champions due to the sheer health gain per legendary item and utility from Iceborn Gauntlet
Passive - Voidborn Resilience: For each second in champion combat, gain a stack granting 2 armor and MR, up to 8 max. At max stacks become empowered, instantly draining enemies around you for 3% of your max health (reduced to 30% against minions and monsters) and increasing your resists by 10% until end of combat. Passive - Voidborn Resilience as you gain 2 stacks of armor and Magic Resistance great alternative to Evenshroud although it is a bit more expensive.
Very niche item to build if your Marksman is not doing anything as the bonus you gain 10% attack speed per legendary which synergizes with his Maximum Dosage. Can be viable on Dr. Mundo
Warwick is a powerful champion that fulfills the role of offensive tank and initiator. Dr. Mundo is one of the best champions in the game at forcing an engagement and taking people in and out of the fight. Building him offensively/defensively enables you to spread havoc all over the battlefield as you pursue and avoid pursuit yourself.
