ESTRATEGY
playing as
Pyke is very fragile, so don't be afraid to temporarily run away from a fight. You can regenerate a significant amount of health from Gift of the Drowned when enemies cannot see you.
The tap version of Bone Skewer is much faster and deals extra damage.
When in lane, Ghostwater Dive is a good tool to push lane opponents back. Because Pyke is an extremely aggressive support that can jump in and kill at any time when unnoticed. Ghostwater Dive will fear enemies from a gank, close combat hook, or being caught.
Immediate Follow Up Bone Skewer with Phantom Undertow to make sure you can stun when the enemy can move again.
Sometimes when needed help kill the main source of danger on the enemy team using Death From Below as an engaging tool, immediately follow up with the standby version of Bone Skewer or Phantom Undertow to surprise your opponent would be more efficient due to the fact that fewer players will waste a Flash for Death From Below when healthy, giving you less time to react to his enticing combo.
Make sure you always have a plan to get out of the fight, some of your crucial combat spells can also serve as escapes.
Playing against Pyke
When Pyke is hiding nearby in his Ghostwater Dive, sharks will circle under your feet.
Try not to be close to allies with low health. If Pyke executes them using Death From Below, you take free damage from inside the area.
Dribble Pyke's stun is a high priority, because if you do, he'll be in a bad position to team fight.
Playing with Pyke
When playing with Pyke it is better to leave him the kills (check if he has an ultimate) because the cut gives two for the team.
When playing a champion with high DPS or burst, try to lower an enemy champion's health enough for Pyke to use his ultimate against them and he'll get resets to kill more enemies.
PLAYING STYLE
Pyke is an assassin support who stalks his victims through stealth before emerging to take a name for his team. His crowd control, stealth, and damage gear make him an area hazard that can pick off weaklings with quick moves.
Skill Usage
Gift of the Drowned
Remember, if it's not regenerating, they can see it.
Bone Skewer [Q]
It is not always necessary to place the spike at a distance to pull a target. If moving quickly, a partially loaded skewer to the face can throw the same distance.
Ghostly Water Dive [W]
This ability allows him to go through evasions that would otherwise take too long. The last approach expected from a support is the one they haven't thought of yet.
When playing 1v1 trades, it's best to save Dive into Ghostwater regenerates a portion of the damage you took from enemy champions.
Ghost Hangover [E]
Immediate Bone Skewer follow-up to make sure you can stun when the enemy can move again.
Death from below [R]
When engaging in a team fight, focus on the champion with the lowest health, that way their ultimate can be reset when you execute that specific champion.
Don't hesitate to secure a kill with Kill From Below, as it will give the full reward for the kill to the last ally to assist you.
