Renekton is one of the many bruisers. He is mainly played tanky-dps but can also be one or the other I just find tanky-dps works out the best for me. I absolutely love Renekton i think he is one of the most fun champions to play and is one of the best of the bruisers

Pros
-Amazing at Farming
-High Overtime Damage in team fights
-Great early game sustainability
-Can tank large amounts of damage
-His Ult can save him if he is about to die

Cons
-Hard to do alot in large amounts of cc
-Can somewhat be kited by some champions

I chose the runes i did because i find it gives me the most survive ability + damage. You can use runes to your liking but these runes do work really well so i would suggest trying them atleast once and if you don't like them they are great on alot of champions so you didn't really buy them for no reason.

x9 Greater Mark of Desolation + x3 Greater Quintessence of Desolation gives you a good amount of armor pen which helps alot early game to late game

x9 Greater Seal of Armor gives you more armor which helps you tank more early game and it ads on to the few items in the build that give armor

x9 Greater Glyph of Magic Resist gives nice MR which helps against champions with good early game magice damage and ads on to the few items in the build that give armor

I like to take 0/21/9 mainly because it makes you slightly tankier and helps with the early game lvling up which really helps if you have solo top lane if you want though you can alternate to 21/9/0 or even 0/9/21 just whatever you think works for you.

Main Build:
I like to start off with Boots of Speed +3 Health Potions these 2 items help with early game sustainability and the ability to get away easy if you get ganked.

Wriggles Lantern helps with Lane sustainability, free warding, and increase on cs, and also gives a good amount of armor.

Mercury Treads gives you tenacity which decreases the amount of time a CC lasts on your champion aswell as gives you a good amount of MR.

Trinity Force Helps in many ways it gives you more movement speed so you can catch up to your enemys, has a chance of slowing your enemys pretty harshly, and gives you more damage after you cast an ability (aslo procs with Ruthless Predator)

Sunfire Cape Ads over time damage when you are in short range of you enemy and gives a great increase of overtime damage with your ult, gives more hp and armor.

Banshees veil Banshees Veil gives the ability to negate one abilty that your hit by (30 sec cd) gives more hp and MR, but the mana is useless (does not mean the item is useless)

Black Cleaver Gives a great amount of armor reduction against tanks and gives a good amount of damage.

Alternatives:
Atmas Impaler is is the item you replace your Wriggles Lantern for it gives you more damage with the more amount of life you have and has more armor then Wriggles Lantern making it a better choice

Ionian boots of lucidity are good for when the enemy team have a low amount of cc and if you don't think Merc Treads are actually good then you can switch em out

Boots of swiftness can be a great item on renekton if you dont think Merc Treads is good on him as most people do

For those ghost blade lovers out there getting this instead of Last Whispers works well

Force of Nature can be used instead of Banshees if you dont like it

Great Health and health regen increase if you get this item replace it for Tri Force and get Force of nature with this item instead of banshees

I max this first mainly because its great early game it gives damage, lane sustainability, and is very good for farming


I max this second mainly because it decreases the cooldown which is really good, gives more damage and increases the amount of armor reduction (50 fury+)

I max this third you want to get a point every time you can like it is with most ults it gives more HP, damage overtime and gains fury really fast overtime, for a short time,


I max this last mainly because it isn't needed as much as the others early but gives an amazing amount of damage late game.

What I use:
Flash can be an all around good spell its good for chasing, juking, and escaping you enemys

Ignite Can be used to finish off or help kill an enemy champion adding overtime damage and reducing the amount they heal by

What you can use:
Ghost can be used for escaping or chasing your enemy

Cleanse can be used for removing cc so you can get back into battle or escape

Exhaust can be used to catch up, stop enemy from running or eliminating damage one does

In team fights if their entire team is clenched together you can just easily nuke them with Ult, Cull the Meek and Slice and Dice.

If the enemy team is not clenched together but one of your other teammates have initiated then you can try to jump on there ranged carry and nuke the range carry then jump in to the rest of the team fight

Renekton has some really nice tank ability/Aoe overtime damage so abuse it by trying to initiate when your team is ready dont when alone.

Renekton works well with any other champion that has large Aoe damage which can help you win teamfights really easily

Renekton can jungle decently from lvl 1 with these runes with almost the same skill sequence but jungle renektons ganks are where its at his ganks are just absolutely amazing and can almost always be garanteed a kill if the are pushed out to the tower if you jungle renekton.

The build order is changed a bit i get Cloth armor +5 Health Potions mainly for survive ability in the jungle.

I think my build has potential in ranked it should work really well early and late as long as you play smart and don't over commit to anything as it is with most builds/champions

I think people need to use the Trinity Force more mainly because i think it works really well with everything renekton has to bring.

I have looked at alot of Renekton guides and i didn't see alot of people get Sunfire Cape and it is such a good item on him it helps his ult and gives health+armor which is just awesome

Banshees VeilBanshees Veil i think no one gets this item on Renekton which im confused by because it is such a good item for both magic resist/ability negator
