Introduction

I'm not so good at telling people what to build on their characters. Reason I am doing this is because I'm sick of seeing Summoners playing with full tank build, buying items like or even just maxing their attack speed, cause they "Need it". So yeah,I hope you enjoy reading this guide. Just,a little favor: Don't rage at me,if I did something wrong. :P

Pros / Cons

Pros:
Amazing burst damage
Extra fun character to play
Spamming skills all day long
Ultimate increases your range to all spells, and melee attacks+has an awesome burst
Good ganker/chaser due to her low Cd on dash and Stun
Best of all, doesn't use mana :D!

Cons:
Aimed at in team fights
Squishy. But we will fix that a bit
Her stun doesn't last too long. Hopefully they will increase that.
Sometimes,Q is hard to control.

Runes

I suggest using 9x Greater Mark of Desolation
9x Greater Seal of Armor For both, laning and jungling
9x Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist or 9x Greater Glyph of Magic Resist Whichever you prefer the most. It came to my head that having 9x Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reductioncan be used well, since the only thing that isn't letting you spam,is CoolDown, and ofcourse 3x Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage or Greater Quintessence of Desolation if you need more Armor Penetration, its up to you.

If your team lacks a jungler, feel free to take that place instead of someone else. For that, you can just swap Marks and Glyphs for Attack Speed, cause you will need it bad. Leaving 3x Greater Quintessence of Desolation unchanged.

Masteries

Standard masteries for a bruiser 21/0/9. You can change it in to 21/9/0 but I strongly suggest using the standard one.
Taking improved ,or improved depending on which you choose.
If you feel prefer to be viable you can go 12/18/0 like thisI am using this Mastery Page if I am solo laning

Summoner Spells

Flash and Exhaust are a must. With and ,you are almost impossible to be caught. It's also a great gank combo.
If you prefer ,feel free to use it,its good also. But,(just saying),if you can't escape with a , won't be much of use there.

Items

Ok,let us start ^^
1st item you want to buy are boots and 3 Health Potions. Boots are great on level 1 for ,you have no idea how much.
At 1st trip back, you can buy a or 2,if you need more health at low levels,or if you feel like you are getting pushed away due to low hp.
From that moment on,you should save up gold for B.F Sword, which will shortly after turn in to one big , With only that, you can smash peoples faces in a matter of seconds.
Now,its your choice, either you buy Mercury's Treads or Ionian Boots of Lucidity. The cooldown is nice, but I prefer the 35 tenacity. is one of the best items for Riven. Gives you 700Health,20 dmg and it slows enemy on each hit. It goes perfect with your .
With you should have around 3.000HP,if not even more. Fits more then enough in the build. Since its giving you free armor, and more dmg. Use it wisely :P
--> Many people dislike using Atma's,and they QQ way to much. Impaler gives you 18% critical, armor, and DMG from your health. It makes you durable in team fights+the critical goes well with .
And last, but not least, you can buy another Dmg item, like , or another ,but I prefer buying

Item Changes

I've been testing for a while now. And I tried to play it without ,because it actually is a waste of money. 2 reasons.
1st,you don't need mana,so even if you consider buying a its a waste of 1260gold.
2nd,those 30AP aren't so great. Since all of your spells are AD based,that AP isn't needed,so it's a waste. Don't do it.
Instead of using I've been using . It goes well with + ,makes you do critical dmg a lot easier. Also increasing the crit dmg from 200% to 250%. Which is pretty sweet.
Another thing: I wouldn't suggest buying . Sure,it helps with blocking a spell,or adding magic resistance,but still,that those +375 mana,is a big waste.

Skill Sequence and What Do They Do

Passive: Runic Blade: Riven's abilities charge her blade, causing her basic attacks to deal 5/11/15 (+50% of BONUS attack damage) bonus physical damage. Riven's blade may be charged up to 3 times and expends one charge per attack.
Basicly, what you want to do here,is not waste those stacks. For example,if you Stun them, and do Q 3 times, without auto attacking them, means that you just wasted a stack. Don't waste them, maybe they will lead in to a killing blow, not letting the enemy escape with 50hp.

Q: Broken Wings: Riven strikes out in front of her in a short line. This ability may be reactivated 2 additional times.

1st Use: Slashes forward, dealing 30/50/70/90/110 (+60% of BONUS attack damage) physical damage to all units she comes in contact with.
2nd Use: Slashes forward, dealing 30/50/70/90/110 (+60% of BONUS attack damage) physical damage to all units she comes in contact with.
3rd Use: Leaps into the air and slams the ground dealing 30/50/70/90/110 (+60% of BONUS attack damage) physical damage and knocking nearby enemies away from the point of impact.
Cooldown 13 seconds
Cooldown start its countdown once the 1st slash is used. Also, after every slash, you can use up to 3 seconds before using the 2nd slash, and then the 3rd and final one.

W:Ki Burst: Riven's sword emits a burst of runic energy that shocks nearby enemies, dealing 50/90/130/170/210 (+100% of BONUS attack damage) physical damage and stunning them for 0.5 seconds.
Cooldown 11/10/9/8/7 seconds
It has a really small aoe range, which is bad...At first look, this is a very mediocre skill, but if you combine it with for the dash and Broken Wings knock-up, it isn't that bad.

E:Valor: Riven does a quick dash in the direction of your cursor and becomes shielded, blocking up to 40/70/100/130/160 (+100% of BONUS attack damage) incoming damage for 2.5 seconds.
Cooldown 11/10/9/8/7 seconds
It's range is smaller then Taunt. It gives a decent amount of shield. You can use it in 2 ways.
1st=Rushing towards enemy
2nd=Escaping

R:Blade of the Exile: Riven's weapon surges with spiritual energy for 15 seconds, granting her 20% bonus attack damage, increased range on her damaging spells and attacks, and the ability to use Wind Slash once.

Wind Slash: Riven fires a shockwave that deals from 80/120/160 (+60% of BONUS attack damage) to 240/360/480 (+180% of BONUS attack damage) physical damage to all enemies hit, increasing based on how much health they are missing.
Cooldown 75/60/45 seconds
This skill increases the AoE on and while also giving you 20% more AD and 75 bonus range on Riven's autoattack.
-Wind Slash can be used once at any time. Once...Using it when the enemy is lower on HP does more damage. With some cooldown reduction you can use her ultimate on intervals of 25-30sec.

,if you need to reach the opponent 1st,initiate with ,followed up with , and then Q-ing the target till death with . If the target lives, finish it up with Wind Slash, who's dmg increases greatly if the target has low HP. Otherwise,I wouldn't suggest initiating with it. You would just waste it then.
Don't forget, after every ,your Auto Attacks are reseted, which means you will attack it immediately after Q!

Farming/Jungling

At 1st it might be hard to last hit in a lane, depending who is on the opposite side of you. But once you reach levels of 4-5,your should do the work.
Maxing ,has shown better results then maxing 1st. Since your cd is reduced with every level, and you are spamming that stun on intervals of 5-7seconds,depending how much CDR you have.

Jungle:
Is a great jungler, and a great ganker. Rushing from the bushes, stunning, bashing people, what more can you wish for?(Moar hp)...
Buying and 5 ,and rushing at little Golems, taking 1 point in your Q. You can start at Blue if you prefer that route, but then you would need a good leash. After Golems, spend that point in W,since you'll be going to Wraiths now. Normal attack,Q,normal attack,Q,normal attack,Q,normal attack, and they are dead. Proceed to the Wolves, grabing 1 point in Valor. Destroy the Blue Golem, since its easy now. Go back to base. It's up to you what will you buy next. Scepter, boots rushing Mardred's Razor, its up to you. Golems,Red,and you are ready to gank. No one should escape you, since you have, lets see,Flash,Valor,Ki Burst,Broken Wings, and, did I mention Red Buff?
is a must. Warding, well,no need to tell you,it's your job to do that,if your support is way to lazy,or you lack one. Proceed with :Extra Armor Penetration,Attack Dmg,and Gives you movement speed. Makes easier to gank people, with 99% chance that they wont escape you. Also,Riven's Movement speed is ok. Its 395 with Boots Speed 2,which is,ok. Youmuu's is a great choice in that matter.

Summary

Riven,oh Riven, what do I say about you? I really enjoy playing you.Spamming spells all day long, since the Mana cost is so low! Oh wait, she doesn't use mana, woopsy daisy. She is like Orianna. Spamming Ball all day long, and looking at the enemy team raging hard :D
I know the build isn't perfect, since shes out for like,2 days? I didn't have that much time to find every suitable item for her. So if you don't like something, put it in the comments bellow ^^ See you on the battlefield!
