[S14] (14.3) 1V9 Destroyer Rank 1 Hecarim EUW Guide

By Fennixas
About Me
Hello guys !

Lets start with who I am. So my nickname is Fennix, previously known as 44Lovely or trenheca im mostly known for being insane Hecarim, Mordekaiser, Diana, Talon player, my playstyle was always different from most people I snowball really hard and know how to make plays which leads to getting advantages over other junglers. My playstyle is usually pure 1v9 taking aggresive fights and punishing people because of my experience on the champion.

I originally started playing League in S2. I play a lot champions which are 1v9 material im not a huge of perma ganking strategy since i don't feel like suits well for the soloq jungle gameplay. Youre supposed to be 1v9 scaling machine that is why I always have high winrates because I do not flip games i play for a safe way to 1v9 which is scaling and then going heavy. Started playing mordekaiser only after the rework since i really like the champion playstyle nowadays it fits me perfectly I have always been competitive player. Peaked 1k LP EUW in season 9.

I have reached rank 1 Hecarim in the world and EUW many times. So believe me the knowledge that im giving you should help you climb !

A lot of people suggested that I should create my 1v9 guide, so yeah here you go :)

I also stream on twitch so if you want to see insane Jungle 1v9 gameplay with bangers here you go, you can learn more about the actual in the real gameplay: https://www.twitch.tv/fennix1v9
What to know about Hecarim
So first of all Hecarim is not hard champ that requires a lot of effort to learn all the essentials. To be become 1v9 god you have learn these things:
Correct path (In lower elo's always prefere to get leashed since it gives you faster clear time and you can use that yo your advantage to 1v9)
Knowing your champ limits, when you can can engage, when you need to disengage and knowing the damage of your champion.
That's basically all that you need to learn

Hecarim minuses :
1. Be aware of enemy early invades, you have to pay attention to enemy jungler's pathing since you cant win every 1v1.
2. Hecarim biggest power spike is after he gets his mythic with ionian boots. Before that you can are not that big of a 1v9 machine so be aware of that.
3. Hecarim falls of in late game so try to not extend it too much in higher elo's.

One thing from my personal experience : Don't be afraid to fight at lvl 4, a lot of people doesn't understand how strong is Hecarim at lvl 4 with ghost at Rift Scuttler fights. So yeah, always try to force it if you can.
What do you ban when playing Hecarim ?
Personally I prefere banning one of these :
Bel'Veth (the champion i ban most of the games) Champion is disgusting at the moment has tons of dashes counter your damage while being in her e.
Lilia This patch lilia has been really overtuned which means that its actually gonna be hard to play vs it since she can outrun you most of the times so do not overchase her.
Kindred Kindred is just really annoying bacause of the dashes. And the ultimate can really impact the game in teamfights.
Elise Annoying because of the early game pressence can really snowball from the early ganks of the game and later on if she is overfed youre gonna have a hard time killing her.
Vayne Vayne is not that big of a threat if she isn't extremely fed if she is you will have a lot of troubles trying to kill it because of the movement speed she has and the damage she deals.
Runes
So yeah basically I would say that Conqueror + Resolve is the option, It allows you for that 1v9 performance and since the lethality is not that great right now on Hecarim its pretty safe option.

Phase rush i would recommend going into really squishy enemies that needs extra momevent speed to be caught or just for you to escape so decide depending on enemy team compositions.

The only thing that is adaptable to the enemy team composition is Legend: Alacrity instead of Legend: Tenacity. Legend: Alacrity is only good in team compositions with low amount of cc.
Itemization
Hecarim power spike is always after mythic item.

Main mythic item Divine Sunderer - Perfect mythic item for the current meta works extremely well in the tankier matchups, because of its healing and mythic passive stats.
Other option Trinity Force - I would only recommend going this mythic item versing the squeshier enemy team compositions, since its more damage, but you lose survilability that you get from Divine Sunderer

Always when you can go for Ionian Boots of Lucidity, I said always when you can, because in some heavy ad matchups you need Plated Steelcaps

Once you get your power spike Divine Sunderer + Ionian Boots of Lucidity you can start taking over the game since its the biggest power spike on Hecarim, after that combo the champion can easily 1v2 if you play it correctly.

For the third item you are supposed to go Sterak's Gage Unless enemy team composition is really heavy ad then you can go for Death's Dance as the third item option or Spirit Visage if enemy team composition is really based on ap damage.

For the 4th item its depending on enemy's team once again in a lot of scenario's I go for Bramble Vest after finishing my first item and then I go for Death's Dance or if enemy team is really based on ap then you can go instantly Spirit Visage as the 4th item option

After that last 2 items are complete enemy's team comp dependant :

Example full build that I Usually go is : Ionian Boots of Lucidity >> Divine Sunderer >> Sterak's Gage >> Bramble Vest >> Death's Dance >> Spirit Visage >> Thornmail >> Tenacity Potion

Example full build that I go vs heavy ad : Plated Steelcaps >> Divine Sunderer >> Death's Dance >> Bramble Vest >> Thornmail >> Randuin's Omen >> Dead Man's Plate >> Tenacity Potion

Example full build that I go vs really heavy ap comp : Mercury's Treads >> Divine Sunderer >> Sterak's Gage >> Spirit Visage >> Force of Nature >> Dead Man's Plate >> Tenacity Potion

(ITEMIZATION IS NOT UPDATED LOOK NOTES IN THE BUILD FOR UPDATED VERSION)
Pathing
As Hecarim Always try to full clear when you can, after full clear don't be afraid to contest Rift Scuttler Fight's a lot of people don't know that Hecarim is really strong at level 4 because of Conqueror And Ghost If you play it properly you can easily outplay win almost every Rift Scuttler Fight.

So yeah starting with the pathing : I always prioritize full clearing, only in some situations you don't full clear when there is possible free kill in lanes that you're pathing towards.

Usual Clear : It doesn't matter which side you start in, starting both buff's is fine. For Lower elo's always try to start where ever you can get a decent leash (below d1).

So for example your leash should look like this, if youre starting Blue buff : Blue buff >> Gromp >> Wolves >> Raptors >> Red buff >> Krugs Then always check if mid/bot is gankable if it's really hard to gank then try to contest the Rift Scuttler Because you win 1v1 hard, but be aware of laners, sometimes you will have to leave it if enemie's are roaming to it. But if your team is coming aswell don't be afraid to contest it, because Hecarim is really strong in these situations.

If you're starting Red Buff : Red Buff >> Krugs >> Raptors >> Wolves >> Blue Buff >> Gromp >> Rift Scuttler

What to know when clearing :
1. Always try to keep your q stacks it really helps to clear faster.
2. Be aware of invades don't get too low hp.
3. Kite the camps.
4. Be aware of what's happening on the map (try to keep the track of the enemy jungler), pinging enemy jungler's possible gank is always a good idea and it helps your team.
Conclusion
So yeah here we came to an end ;) Didn't want to make it too long, but a simple guide with all the information needed, so you don't get too bored reading it, these are the essentials that you need to become Hecarim 1v9 God. I will keep updating the guide if I remember something that is really important.

If you have any questions you can always ask them I will gladly answer all of them.

I also stream on twitch if you haven't seen yet, you can learn a lot from my stream gameplay and adapt to the champion even more https://www.twitch.tv/44lovely

My discord : Lovely#8452

So yeah, I wish you all the good luck becoming beast Hecarim Now enough of talking go Conquer the rift ;)
