Introduction: OMG! don't jungle kennen you noob!
Many of you will probably look at this guide and say "This won't work in high elo play, why put it out?" My answer is it isn't intended for people above 1500s because I've no idea if it is worth playing in that range of skill. All I know is that in the "hell" range, picking champions like kennen and lux very early (1st or 2nd) usually sets up the enemy team pick a counter mid/top, only to find out that they're in trouble when your team counters their counterpick!
Now into the bulk of the build. Kennen is a very strong champion with heavy late game CC and presence and is especially hated when placed in a team with strong burst or CC capabilities. He works extremely well as a roamer and does significant damage to low health targets.
In the jungle, he excels by having a strong AoE assisted clear (e and w active) while also possessing single target damage (q and w passive). He's also buff independent reducing the effectiveness of invades and with a MS steroid/defensive steroid he can cover large distances quickly to assist pushes or gank stragglers while reducing damage from minions/monsters.
Because kennen uses energy, he share's an advantage with resourceless junglers in that he does not have to start at Blue. This flexibility enables kennen to start on the opposite side of the jungle and work his way towards lanes that are weaker or will need help (when your top lane is countered, etc).
Starting blue: clear wolves with help from mid/top. kennen's only lvl 1 issue is the CD on his q.
Clear blue and head to wolves and golems, ganking if your enemy mid lane is low.
Starting red: clearing wraiths requires a little more help from your teammates but is not much harder than wolves for kennen. Clearing red allows very quick clears of golems and allows kennen to kill blue on the first clear.
Starting blue: clear wolves with help from mid/top. kennen's only lvl 1 issue is the CD on his q.
Clear blue and head to wolves and golems, ganking if your enemy mid lane is low.
Starting red: clearing wraiths requires a little more help from your teammates but is not much harder than wolves for kennen. Clearing red allows very quick clears of golems and allows kennen to kill blue on the first clear.
Kennen has horrifying ganks in any lane. with heavy damage and an easy to land stun, he quickly becomes a threat large enough to merit heavy enemy warding when jungling. The easiest and most efficient way to gank is as follows and it's very important to make sure kennen's ganks are successful.
BE WITHIN ONE AUTO OF A W CHARGE OR HAVE IT BEFORE YOU EVEN CONSIDER GANKING!!!
this enables you to very easily land a stun and get your team a kill. Get as close as you can. within auto attack range is optimal but not always possible if the enemy is pushed far from a bush. when you target the enemy:
AS SOON AS THE AUTO-SHURIKEN LEAVES KENNEN, SLAM E AND BEELINE FOR THE CHAMPION!!!
do NOT wait for the auto to land and apply the charge to use e. In this way you land two charges almost simultaneously. If you've ever played against a kennen, when the second charge lands you know you panic and flash away. if the opponent does, wait to q until after and q when youve got a clear shot (flash out of minions).
follow the same procedure for bot lane but ult after the e connects to immediately stun the carry.
