INTRODUCTION

Hello everyone! Welcome to my guide on how to carry with Vi Jungle. My name is Nostiff and i play on EUNE Server. I was platinum rank last 3 seasons.

Vi is my main champion and has been my main for a long time.
I really love playing her because of her easy play style and awesome fists.
My main role is Jungle and I've been playing it for 4 seasons now.

Pros / Cons

PROS A lot of cc,Tons of damage,Can be a tank or a good AD damage dealer, can wreck squishy targets.

CONS Ulty can put you in a bad position,no healing, early ganks are all about hitting your Q.

Things you need to know about Vi

Vi is a champion with really good ganks. Her Vault Breaker almost always guarantees a kill. The thing is... what do you do if you miss it? Well when it comes to ganking, you are probably in a 2v1 scenario and you can still try to kill the target. Most of the times they just run away from you since in pre 6 you have no gap closers because you missed your Vault Breaker. So with that said you can try and force them to Flash, go back and try again(wait for your spells to cooldown), or you even might kill them if you have a red buff on and your laner has some kind of CC. In phases when you are lvl 6+ you can always fix your mistakes with your Cease and Desist.

My opinion on masteries

Personally i think that Thunderlord's Decree is better on Vi than Courage of the Colossus because it provides the perfect thing you need. More damage. Your Q+AA+E combo +W passive and the Thunderlord's Decree deal so much damage that almost always you are sure to kill a squishy target. (AA-Auto attack)

Courage of the Colossus ain't bad but even when i play tanky Vi i prefer to stick with Thunderlord's Decree . But that's just my opinion.

Masteries

I go with the 12/18/0 for Thunderlord's Decree . It provides me with the damage i need to wreck primary targets.

Fury gives you +4% attack speed witch goes great with Denting Blows and your build.

Fresh Blood gives you bonus damage on your first basic attack. A great thing to power up your ganks.

Natural Talent boosts you with a little AD and AP. I think its better than lifesteal and spellvamp you get from Vampirism

Bounty Hunter gives you the power to snowball hard on targets that you need to focus.

Savagery will help you kill monsters in the jungle faster.

Runic Affinity Buffs will last longer and that's what you need as a jungler.

Merciless provides you with 5% bonus damage on targets with less than 40% hp. Yet another great thing to help you pwn.

Dangerous Game restores 5$ of your missing health. Remember the time when you ganked Lux and killed her but she used Ignite right before she died. You were left with 30 hp and was called "lucky". Well sorry to burst your bubbles but Dangerous Game provides that luck. Jokes aside, It's a great masterie and i like it more then the other two.

Precision is there to help you get more armor penetration. Goes great with Denting Blows.

Thunderlord's Decree , the most important masterie in my build. Your 3rd attack will deal 30% of your bonus attack damage + 10 per level. A sick thing to pack with your Denting Blows.

Runes

I was playing with 9x AD Marks, 9x Armor Seals, 9x Magic res/lvl Glyphs and 3x AD Quints until i got these babies.

For Marks i take 3x Greater Mark of Lethality and 6x Greater Mark of Attack Damage. Take them, damage is good.

For Seals i take 9x Greater Seal of Scaling Health.

For Glyphs i take 9x Greater Glyph of Scaling Cooldown Reduction. The cooldown helps you use your spells faster. A good thing to get.

And for Quintessences i take Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed. Yet another attack speed buff up. Great for your Denting Blows and Thunderlord's Decree (faster proc).

The new runes i started using from 7.3 patch launch.

For Marks i take 9x Greater Mark of Attack Damage

For Seals i take 9x Greater Seal of Armor.

For Glyphs i take 6x Greater Glyph of Scaling Cooldown Reduction and 3x Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist.

And for Quintessences i take Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed.

They proved to be good in my games so i decided it was time to update my guide. Here are some games i have played with them.

Spells

0000000000000000000000000000000000000

Passive - Blast Shield: When Vi damages an enemy with an ability, she shields herself for 10% of her maximum health for up to 3 seconds. This is a great passive for sustain in the jungle and for fights.

0000000000000000000000000000000000000

Q - Vault Breaker: This ability has 2 casts:
FIRST CAST: Vi channels for up to 4 seconds, increasing Vault Breaker's range and damage over 1.25 seconds. But it slows you down. Vi can still move while channeling, but cannot use basic attacks or abilities.
SECOND CAST: Vi dashes in the target direction, dealing physical damage to all enemies she passes through, increased by 33.3% against champions. Vi stops upon colliding with an enemy champion, knocking them back, and all other enemies hit are instead pulled towards her.
This spell allow's you to make the perfect ganks. In the jungle you can use it to set up the monsters for a all hit with Relentless Force.

0000000000000000000000000000000000000

W - Denting Blows:PASSIVE: Vi's basic attacks and Vault Breaker each apply a stack of Denting Blows to enemies they hit.
At 3 stacks, the stacks consume themselves to deal bonus physical damage to her target. For the next 4 seconds, Vi reduces 20% of their armor and gains bonus attack speed.
Goes really well with Thunderlord's Decree .

0000000000000000000000000000000000000

E - Relentless Force: Vi can charge up to 2 stacks of Relentless Force and gains 2 of them when you level it up for the 1st time. Vi's next basic attack gains bonus range and deals physical damage, which also hits all enemies in a cone behind the target. This is really good for hitting targets with low health that are trying to run from you. You can hit minions or other champions and the blast might hit them if they aren't too far away. A good wave clear ability. Use it to reset your auto attacks.

0000000000000000000000000000000000000

R - Cease and Desist: Vi dashes to the target enemy champion, knocking them up for 1.25 seconds upon arrival and dealing them physical damage. While charging, Vi is immune to crowd control and knocks aside enemies in her way, dealing 75% damage to them.
Remember, champions like Vladimir, Bard, ect. and Zhonya's Hourglass can counter Cease and Desist so think who you want to ulty.

Items

0000000000000000000000000000000000000

CORE

--Nothing much to be said about Stalker's Blade - Warrior. You get the damage, cooldown reduction and a smite that deals true damage and steals 20% of the targets movement speed.

--Always buy Mercury's Treads. Ninja Tabi is a good item if you have a fed Master Yi or any other right clicker in the enemy team.

-- Trinity Force is a must have item on Vi. You gain CDR, Damage, Movement speed, Attack speed, Mana, Bonus damage on your spells. Just take it.

0000000000000000000000000000000000000

OTHER ITEMS

-- Edge of Night is a good item and it got buffed in 7.2 (cd from 45>30) It's a good item when you need more damage in the team. And you get 35 magic res and a spell shield. But be careful when you activate it cause damage will interrupt the channel.

-- Maw of Malmortius is a great item versus AP bursters but if you have the same runes as me the CDR will overcap. So think about that before you buy it.

-- Randuin's Omen comes in handy when the enemy team has a lot of movement speed and dash/jump spells. It helps you to protect your AP/AD Carry and to chase
the enemy down.

-- Zz'Rot Portal the best item if you need to be tanky and you have no one in the team to push. It also helps defend your base if a inhibitor is taken down. I won a lot of games because of this item and it's one of my favorite optional items for Vi.

The Jungle

These are the paths you should take when starting jungle.
I usually do wolves when i'm on red side and go to red buff, but when i'm on blue i kill the birds.
After the buffs you can gank top or mid. Or if both laners are pushing you can kill krug and go back to your jungle.

COUNTER GANK

The best tip i can give you for jungle start is to look for the spot where the enemy jungler can gank.
Example: Your top laner is pushed and is farming near the turret, your mid laner is on half hp pushing mid. Where do you think enemy Lee Sin will gank? A perfect spot to counter gank.

COUNTER JUNGLE

Red dots are Control wards
Yellow dots are Totem wards

Counter Jungle is all about warding and knowing where the enemy jungler is.
Example: If Red enemy jungler is bot, you can take his red...

Ganking and Minimap

GANKING

When it comes to ganking you always need to look for the perfect opportunity(people on low health, pushed lanes and possible dives). Junglers best friend is the Minimap.

MINIMAP

Try to be smart, use your minimap in the right way.

Example:

When you come to gank a lane be sure to look where your minions are. Fog of war doesn't let you see the enemy ones. Why am i telling you this? Well if you want a successful gang you don't want to give the enemy a second more than you have to. That second means a lot.
See how i waited out the wave to get to the middle of the lane and after that i went in.

The important part

If you get comfortable playing Vi try to be original, try something new. Other build,Masteries,Runes. Experiment with her. She is a champ with the best kit out there.
Design your own play style and build. See what fits you the best.

Patch changes

7.2 - Nothing much changed for Vi that affects my guide.

Jungle timers got changed. Buffs now spawn at 1:40 and gromp and krug now spawn at 1:52. Gromp and Krug both got increased damage and the honey fruit now spawns between 6:00-6:30. Rift scuttler now eats the honey fruit.

Courage of the Colossus got nerfed so i think it will be best if you go with Thunderlord's Decree .

7.3 Vi got a nerf.

MOVEMENT SPEED 345 ⇒ 340
BASE ATTACK SPEED 0.644 ⇒ 0.625

I played a game with the new nerfed Vi with the same runes, masteries and build. It felt the same. Movement speed wasn't a problem but you can feel the attack speed going down since the runes give the % bonus.
If i find something better for this build ill be sure to share it with you guys.
