Diana is a very anti-assassin champion who is great against assassins. Diana will win almost every trade. She can block most of your damage with her W shield and chase you fairly easily even if you use your W shadow or R shadow because of her ultimate. Your best bet is NOT engaging 1v1's with her. Farm safely and roam. If you can, have your jungler gank.
This matchup is fairly 50/50 depending on her skill and your skill. However she is pretty slippery and has a bigger advantage pre-6 than you depending on how she plays. If you play around her W and don't fall for her passive you should be okay in laning.
Galio can be fairly annoying with his tankiness and tons of poke damage. Just don't get caught by his taunt and try to avoid his Q as best as possible. Other than that you can poke normally. You want to fight him after he wastes his taunt. You can farm normally but again, be cautious of his E (dash) and W (taunt). Keep in mind he is great at setting up ganks so you will want to have your rivers warded and be on the lookout for ganks. If needed, keep your W up always.
He outpokes you early but post 6 you beat Azir easily. Don't get poked too hard by his soldiers while farming. I recommend farming with Q.
Mostly 50/50 depending on skill but you can beat Akali fairly easily. She will most likely wait for you to ult before using her shroud so try to bait it out before going in on her. You can find where she is if you hit her in the shroud with your E. After you do that you could Q where she was/will be. If you aren't confident in guessing where she will be after you spot her with your E, you can wait until the shroud is gone. Though, your ult will be gone by then.
You beat him fairly easily. Just make sure you don't get stunned and stuck in the range of his mini stars. When you get in his face he can't do much. Dodge his stun with your ult and W E Q. Boom he's pretty much done. Aurelion is fairly squishy as well. Just make sure to ping whenever he is missing to let your team know that he might be dropping by. This goes with any matchup.
Malzahar can be fairly annoying if he is good at controlling the minion wave. Build QSS after Dirk or rush QSS if needed. You win in trades if you get rid of his shield before hand. Make sure to avoid his E (the void aids) as it does do more damage than you would expect.
Avoid her Q coming back as it does true damage. Save your W for after you ult to dodge to catch up with her ult. She might try to charm you as soon as you come back from your ult so try to bait it before you ult. (Ult when she tries to charm you)
Zed is fairly good against Xerath, HOWEVER if the Xerath is good he can constantly poke you into the depths of the Shadow Isles. If you dodge his abilities you win trade. Farm with Q and auto minions whenever you can. Ask for ganks as well. Once you get ahead you can beat him fairly easily as he is squishy. Play him like you would against an Ahri with more range.
Again, depends on your skill. Watch out for level 2 fights. He generally beats you pre-6 with more consistent faster aa damage and Q's. Try to go all in when he doesn't have windwall. Get E second if you can fight him early when he E's to poke you. If not get W to play safely. If he lands his knockup and ults you before you do anything, try to ult him as soon as you land and flash away / w away and then Q E. You can usually bait his tornado and W R E W Q him.
Champion Build Guide
Passive - Contempt for the Weak, Do more damage with autos to enemies below 50% health.
Q - Razor Shuriken, Shurikens that do normal damage on first hit, less damage after it passes through target. Zed’s main poke.
W - Living Shadow, Puts out a shadow that mimic’s your other abilities. If you hit the same target with 2 or more of the same ability (W shadow and/or R shadow) you get energy back.
E - Shadow Slash, Does area damage around you in a circle. If one of your shadow’s E hit an enemy it slows them. If 2 or more hit the enemy, they are slowed even more and you get some energy back.
R - Death Mark, Zed goes untargetable for a moment and a mark is put on the target. The ult then pops after a few seconds doing MORE damage based on the damage dealt during the few seconds.
The secondary runes and 3 mini runes can also be situational and change to your preference.
I generally take either:
Precision - Triumph and Coup De Grace.
Sorcery - Transcendence and Scorch.
The 3 mini runes can vary but I tend to take 10% attack speed to help with csing. You can switch it out for 10 adaptive. The health mini rune can change to armor, or magic resist depending on the enemy team. If they consist of heavy AD or heavy AP, change the rune to the corresponding mini rune. This is also the same with if the champion does a ton of damage in lane and you need more resistance against them in lane.
~~~ Items ~~~
Start 1 longsword and 3 health potions. It depends but you can start with a refillable pot.
(IMO: It is best to start 3 health potions and buy a refill afterwards)
Core Items: Duskblade of Draktharr, Youmuu’s Ghostblade
Item Pool: Core items, Black Cleaver, Edge of Night, Lord Dominik’s Regards Bloodthirster, Ravenous Hydra, Titanic Hydra, Sterak’s Gage, Maw of Malmortius, Death Dance, Storm Razor, Phantom Dancer, Guardian’s Angel.
Standard Item Build: Boots, Duskblade, Youmuu’s, Black Cleaver, Lord Dominik’s, Death Dance
(Last Item here can be switched to whatever item to maximize your effectiveness in game. For example, taking Storm razor for better deletes, or taking Edge of Night for more lethality, hp and the spell shield.)
Boots very from game to game. You might need ninja tabis if they are all AD, or Mercury’s Treads if they are AP and/or have a lot of CC. You can get Mobility Boots if you will roam a lot, etc. Buy accordingly to your game.
Ranged AP Mages (Syndra, Brand, Karthus, etc.) -
Facing ranged AP mages will require your dodging skills to be half decent. You don’t need to be faker level, but you must make sure you can dodge around 60% of the enemy attacks. If you cannot dodge, you will have a very hard time. Generally (depending on the enemy mid laner) you can walk up and farm with autos, but you have to be wary of their attacks. They can just come in and auto you continuously to punish you. If they do, sit back and farm with your Q’s, soak up as much xp as possible and farm safely.
Ranged Melee Mages (Ekko, Fizz, etc.) -
With these matchups you can be less cautious about autoing to cs and trading. There isn’t much to be said about these matchups as it depends on your skill and the enemy’s skill. If you have to you can build hexdrinker to help you in laning phase. I’d say get E second so you can Q E Auto when they go on you to trade.
AD Matchups (Yasuo, Talon, etc.) -
Just try to dodge most pokes from them and outpoke them. You can farm with autos more often with these matchups. It mostly depends on your skill and their skill.
